Was a quick swap out with my old SSD that had issues. Its like day and night upgrading after using a standard HDD for months. After reviewing this and the EVO, I might have gotten the EVO since this is now my only HDD. Apparently this QVO doesnt hold up as well with frequent rewriting, but I have had no issues so far.

This is not a 3-D NAND PCI-E M.2 drive. But, its an affordable way to add considerable speed to your system without spending hundreds of dollars. It wont outpace even its EVO or PRO siblings, but the QVO series is still considerably faster than the WD Black drive I had in my system. The old hard drive was one of the few components I salvaged from my old system to use as mass storage, (I run a Samsung 960 PRO M.2 for my OS now). It was getting a bit long in the tooth, so I was looking for a cheaper SSD to swap it out with. Found this one on sale for about $80, and it is fantastic for what I paid for it. I know a better drive would be even faster, but for storage of pictures, files, and some PC games, this is great. Anything I need ultra fast speeds for go on my boot drive anyway. I read some reviews that show this drive is not that great, and if youre comparing it to flagship Samsung or Intel drives, those reviews are correct. If youre swapping from a traditional HDD, and find this on a good sale, grab it. Or, if you just need a faster backup drive, grab it.

The Samsung 860 QVO SSD is what the doctor ordered if you are looking for a quick easy way to add fast SSD storage to your laptop or PC. I used mine to upgrade the old HDD in my HP All-in-One PC and it now responds super fast. Installation is as easy as one can expect for installing a hard drive. The boot-up times on my PC are significantly faster 20-30 seconds vs 90 seconds and the PC doesnt use as much energy since it doesnt have any moving parts. Overall, highly recommended.

Easy plug and play and driver compatibility.

Its not speedy as the 970s But it does what I need it to. Much faster response times.

Works great. Installed windows 10 in about 15min. And reduced boot up speed to 7sec. Replaced a failing HDD in an Asus laptop.
