> 3 dayI was looking for a new hard drive to replace my HDD. I did some research and decided on this SSD. It was easy to install and format. Works exactly as I expected it to. Would recommend this SSD to anyone who wants a fast hard drive and needs 1TB of storage.

> 3 dayMan for folks who just want to get an ssd. Pay no attention to these nerds that post the speeds and statistics. This ssd did exactly what I wanted and I timed the boot up from the original HDD to this SSD and the speeds are a big difference. I was running a 8min boot time and now with this SSD I’m clocking at only 15secs. That’s a big difference. So if you want to upgrade just get this one don’t worry about what these nerds are talking about.

> 3 dayI bought this to replace a failing 7200HDD in my old HP Envy laptop. I went to the Samsung website and downloaded the migration software. Super easy. Took about an hour and a half to transfer old data/Windows 10/ programs to the new SSD via Hard Drive , SATA to USB Adapter Cable. Opened the back of my laptop (about a dozen tiny screws) and replaced the drive. Result: My laptop starts fast and my fan doesnt constantly come on anymore.

> 3 dayI only have one 512GB SSD in my laptop. After days by days, my laptop is filled with a lot of videos, songs, text, and games. I need a bigger storage drive as my other place to put my files in there. This SSD has 1t storage so I can move a lot of my files into my new drive. In addition, it has a good usage life so I can hold my worries for data loss. Now I have two SSD drive and they both do an important job on my laptop.

> 3 dayI bought this Samsung 1tb 860 QVO to replace a Samsung 240gb drive in an HP EliteDesk desktop computer. I am a retired federal IT person with extensive experience in PC repair, but the ease of installation and data transfer when installing this drive could be done by someone with nearly no repair experience. Having a USB external hard drive adapter helped in transferring the data and operation system (Windows 10), but if you have the capability (cables) to install a second drive in your computer that works as well. (If I were installing this drive in a laptop, it would be be necessary to have a USB external SATA drive cable.) Youtube has a number of videos with simple instructions for installation and data/operating system transfer. The transfer from my 240gb SSD took slightly over 35 minutes. This time would depend on your amount of data to be transferred and if you are replacing an old SSD or conventional drive. Physical installation was simple, but required that I use the mounting hardware from my old drive. This required a CR-VT15 driver bit to unscrew the mounting hardware from the old drive. If you are replacing a 3.5 drive you will need to supply the mounting hardware/adapter for the 860 drive. It is impossible to address every user situation, so understand this is only the SSD drive... no mounting or accessories. The drive was shipped and delivered promptly by Amazon, and I am very satisfied with the product, price, and delivery. I have received nothing for this review. Just trying to help others.

> 3 dayGot this SSD on Black Friday for good value and its going to be a storage device for my PVR. So far seems to be running without any issues. In reviews Ive read the EVO or EVO Pro Samsungs are faster drives but thats not really a worry in a PVR which is already bottlenecked by USB2 interface.

Greater than one weekFirst off Im not a gamer Im a producer and I had a isse with my drive keeping with my work the RPMs were too slow. The only issue is that I dont have enough space for my work so Im forced to use an external 7200 RPM hard. At some point please make an affordable 8tb solid state drive so I can be worry free.

> 3 dayRe-writing my review, as this drive did not work with macOS when I first bought it. Luckily, they published a firmware update which solved that problem. So I can now report that this drive works great. Its extremely fast, actually bumping up against the limits of the PCI-Express bus that M.2 slots use. Great value from a reputable brand. Im glad I didnt send it back, and instead just waited. If you have one of these and its causing crashes and reboots with macOS, update the firmware on the drive.
