how this ssd is very fast. i installed it in my wifes new acer laptop after i bought it. she wanted something quicker and less problematic than her old hp. estimated windows shut down in 5 secs and boots up in less than 10 secs. probably the fact that it is in a modern system (coffee lake laptop) helps with its speed. however, it is for faster than my older crucial ssd in my coffee lake desktop. i did not use samsung software to clone the drive. i read some reviews with persons having difficulty using it but on analysis, they dont quite understand the process. for example, one review had similar specs to my wifes laptop: 1TB HDD. this is a 500GB SSD, therefore, u cannot clone a 1TB (1000GB) HDD on to a 500GB SSD. cloning means to make an identical copy but the sizes are not the same so it cannot be done. the 1TB HDD would have to be resized to 500GB. it just has been a week since it was installed but there is issues. i hope it stays that way. i installed samsung magician to update the firmware and provide information about the drive eg number of TeraBytesWritten (TBW) out of its total capacity.

I Live on My PC for work and Gaming, got this for a new Build without an HDD & even with cleaning out my baby weekly she is almost at full storage capacity. Its fine ill just buy another one i guess, crap.p

If this can handle the rapid and intense needs of high end pc gaming, this also should be able to handle most of your productivity needs like butter. This is more than enough for my current PC gaming setup, as every game loads faster than most people with old hard drives do. 1tb space is huge compared to my old 250 gb SSD, though pretty soon im going to be filling it up a lot more. in terms of raw capacity size an SSD might be outclassed by the older Hard Disk Drive until the tech for SSD gets better and allows for more space and better cost effectiveness.

Made my mid 2012 MacBook Pro FAST!! Boot times, load times & great storage. Would recommend to anyone without an ssd installed. Was bummed my system was aging poorly & been so slow for so long, installed this and is lightyears faster. Highly recommend.

Use this to increase storage and improve speed on an MSI laptop. It did a great job with both. Of course the install process with getting everything moved over was a challenge but once complete it works great.

Easy install if you purchase the 3.5 inch mounting bracket. Great price for a Samsung SSD!

Very easy to install, need to format it before using (I didnt know to do that, so it took some time for me to figure that out). Great storage capacity. Its sturdy and has held up to being in my work bag well with no issues to the files.

It was my understanding the Drive would come with a Disk with 2 software. Samsung Magician and Data Migration, to help with cloning and transfer of files. The Drive came with no software. Downloadable, but was expecting to receive it with Drive. Loss of 1 star.

Was easy to clone the old drive to this one with the Samsung software & a simple install. Did need to buy the special cable. Definitely faster than the spinner.
