I bought it primarily because my company laptop has a small SSD and I needed something to handle large documents & drawings. I had an external disk drive but it was too slow. This device has met all my needs. I am using it on a Dell Precision 7750 and I am using the thunderbolt connection. Thunderbolt cable came with the SSD.

> 24 hourBecause these are Solid State (SSD) they are much less likely to as opposed to spinning disks, they are not prone to damage from bumps and small drops when in use like old fashion hard drives. They have been very reliable when small and light is required. I use these when I travel and when on the road.
