> 3 dayI was a little skeptical about getting a cordless vacuum. My husband was the one that persuaded me to but it because we live in an older house with minimal outlets....so we are always unplugging something to plug in the vacuum. I am so glad he suggested this!!!! We did the research first...dyson vs shark. Was the price difference really worth the $$? I decided to get this shark for a few reasons. 1. removable battery- you can plug it in anywhere and store the vacuum out of sight. 2. attachments that came with it- we have a cat and dog....we clean often and the attachments that came with this make it easy to clean those hard to get (and forgotten) places like ceiling fans, behind doors, and under furniture. 3. it folds down for easier storage- our shark upright plug in vacuum is sometimes difficult to get out of the hall closet with all the coats hanging because the handle gets caught by a sleeve or something. This vacuum handle folds down to store easily under all those hanging coats. 4. lightweight to take up and down the stairs and light enough our 6yr old can use it and maneuver it easily 3. price point was in a reasonable range. The ONLY negative I have found is that the dirt compartment is kind of small......it holds about as much dirt as our Roomba. We have to empty it a lot more often than we do the corded vacuum. Its not that big of a deal but still somewhat annoying.

Greater than one weekThe, Shark Vertex Ultra Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum is not a replacement for my Shark Vertex with the cord. The Vertex with the cord will do a much better job than the cordless. For me, its more about getting the stairs as well as hard to reach places. Above my head and underneath the bed. Overall, I happy with this purchase. Have a nice day.

> 3 dayThis vacuum isnt perfect but performed well beyond my expectations. Its a million times better than my Dyson cordless. My only complaints/ cons are the battery life and lack of accessory storage. If you plan to use it on carpet, spend the extra money on a second battery. No static shock at all for me. The biggest complaint I read on here is static shock. I vacuumed my large carpeted bedroom twice with no issues. I even intentionally didnt touch the grounding bar on the handle with no shock at all. On the carpet setting and high suction, one pass in my large bedroom quickly brought the battery to 60%. I was able to do a second pass on the carpet, my large bathroom and stairs, both hard surfaces, all on high with a single battery. I was surprised to see how much power was lost on the carpet but my Dyson never worked on carpet at all even though it came with a carpet/ brush roller attachment. With only one carpeted room in my house, this will replace my traditional corded vacuum too. The two batteries are enough to do my entire 1500 sqft house with the suction on high and a single attachment for both carpet and hard surfaces. The hair free brush roller is a life saver! After two passes on the carpet, there were only a few of my wives hairs wrapped around the roller which were easily pulled off by hand. No more scissors to the brushes to cut half a head of hair off the rolled every other week. It would be nice to have a wall mount charger with tool storage like my Dyson has but its worth the trade off for a cordless vacuum that actually works. The Shark also has one handed tool change with the release button on the tool itself. Unlike the Dyson that requires both hands with the button being on the vacuum.

> 3 dayUpdate: Less than 1 year later :( I’ve had my vacuum for less than a year. Safe to say I wish I had a magic time-turner like Hermione had in order to go back and save myself the $400 I spent. I’ll update the pictures with what I now find myself dealing with - the sweet feature of the arm that bends so you can reach under beds and furniture? I don’t know if it’s faulty or just cheap - but it’s broken on not one, but both sides now. The battery power is still fine. Especially since I have to stop and clean out the head of it with a chopstick because everything gets clogged in it. I can’t vacuum up a cheese-it cracker without the thing getting clogged. The only way I can vacuum is if I sweep manically beforehand and use one of those pet-hair things on my carpets by hand. I guess it just wasn’t meant to stand the test of time. Or a house with pets, or kids, or people with hair. Maybe my household isn’t meant for a cordless stick vacuum - maybe it’s me, not you, Shark. But safe to say, it was a massive waste of money and I’m now back to buying a $100 corded vacuum cleaner and hoping there’s a replacement part for the arm of this thing so maybe I can still use it to tackle the downstairs hardwoods after I sweep? I’d save your money, shoppers. Old Review: Have you ever heard that anecdotal story about the man who couldn’t afford to buy the most expensive, longer-lasting boots so he had to repeatedly buy the cheaper boots? I come from a family where that is exactly what was done. We buy the $100 vacuum cleaner, have to replace it every year, and after 3-4 years of this, we could have bought a decent vacuum. So, I have to preface this with I am coming from owning a Dyson v8 that was a hand-me-down from my ex future mother-in-law. It was on its last leg when she so graciously gifted it to me, even moreso 5 years later. It finally died and rather than spend the $300-$400 on replacement parts and repair, I decided to treat myself. I just bought a house, I deserve a brand new vacuum to go with it. I have a 6 year old son, a 5 year old Saint Bernard, and 2 ambiguously aged felines. I needed suction, I needed power, but I also hate cords and different heads swapped out for different floor types. That’s what annoyed me with the Dyson the most. Not to mention the battery died after 10 minutes. So I stumbled upon this Shark with the display and I got the two batteries because I have a 2-story home built in 1907 with narrow, L-shaped stairs and full carpet upstairs with full, original hardwoods downstairs. Let me tell you: 1400 sq ft livable space with 50/50 carpets & hardwood, even on the full power, doesn’t run through a whole 60 minute battery. But I’m glad I got the two so I suggest you do the same. As far as suction: wow. The carpets upstairs .. I vacuum them weekly and I vacuum the hardwoods downstairs daily. After vacuuming with this vacuum, it was as if I had never vacuumed anywhere in this house since I bought it 3 months ago. It sucks up every fine, coarse, short, long, human, or animal hair that exists and NO not one wraps around the dual fin things that they advertise. On high power, I can vacuum the entire upstairs and still have battery left. Chef’s kiss. 10/10 on power/suction/fins or whatever. As far as the electric shock - I took a photo of the change they must’ve made to this new model - a little metal piece on the handle to ground you. I’ve been using this vacuum for a month on high power, medium pile carpet, and not once felt a shock. My 6 year old vacuums regularly and even with his tiny hands, can maneuver it and not be shocked. 10/10 no shock, except at what comes out of the dust bin. Overall, from a single mom with a hairy house, I’m grateful I took the leap and spent the $400 on this vacuum. It was well worth it. I have a feeling it will be durable and long-lasting as well, but I can always come back in 10 years as long as I and my vacuum survive any pending nuclear war or zombie apocalypse (which I have no doubt we will as I intend on using my vacuum as a weapon in that instance). Oh and I also used the different attachments to clean my car and the thing sucked up at least a large sized McDonald’s French fry which has been petrified and fossilized on they floor of my Nissan, thanks again to my 6 year old. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI am in love with this vacuum. I have a 2,000 square foot home that is all hardwood and tile with a few rugs here and there. I was able to vacuum my whole house before this vacuum died. Not to mention it got so much hair up out of my rugs that I didn’t realize my other vacuums were missing. It has so much power and does so well on all the different flooring of my house! The only downside would be the canister size however if you don’t have pets, this should not be an issue for you!

> 3 dayI bought this bad boy a couple of months ago, and have been waiting to write the review until Ive used it a while. Over the years Ive used a lot of vaccums. Ive always had large dogs, hate dog hair, and vacuum a few times a week - so always in pursuit of the best vacuum thats easy to use. Well, Ive found it! Shark is my fave brand anyway - I own 2 of the large numbers for deep cleaning (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs). And Ive had one of the early cordless models for easy pick ups & dog hair. NOW, I only need 1 - my new cordless Shark. It folds down and stores more easily than any other Ive owned. It is lightweight, and the swivel head w/light is highly maneuverable in and around furniture legs, and even under furniture. It picks up anything in its path and moves easily between hardwood, tile and carpet. The battery pack is easy to set on a shelf, keep plugged in, and reattach when needed. I like this much better than the large cradle style that sat on the floor for recharging. I see some folks have mentioned noisiness - well, its less noisy than any vac Ive ever owned but you do know the vac is running (not much diff than a heavy duty hair dryer). My main living area is about 1600 SF. I can deep clean all the floors (carpet, hardwood, tile) quite well with a single battery charge, and I vacuum several x each week due to the above mentioned dogs. The whole house is 2500 SF and I can hit all the main areas on a single charge. The settings are easy to shift, and I like the booster setting for extra suction when needed. It performs very well on carpet. And attachments go on and off easily for getting into the crevices. Ive not even bothered to used my big Sharks since I purchased this cordless. The top detaches easily for a hand held vac, which Ive used in my car and it works quite well.I got the upgraded model (the blue/gray one) because I wanted more attachments. Not sure it was worth it, but it was only a few dollars more, so, meh. I know a lot of ppl like their Dysons and other upper priced brands. But I cant imagine they perform any better, and the Shark is reasonably priced. A truly great product - thanks, Shark!!

> 3 dayThis is my first cordless and so far it’s great! Takes some patience learning how to set up and clean. A little more expensive than I expected but I’ve been waiting for the chance to get a hair free roller and a longer run battery and this beauty delivers.

Greater than one weekWe have only had this vacuum for a few months, but it has many features that the Dyson does not have, at a much cheaper price. Im very happy with this purchase. Now, I just have to see if I can find a crevice attachment for it. It came with some nice attachments, but not a good crevice tool. I recommend this.

Greater than one weekI wanted to get a cordless vacuum for my husband who has Rheumatoid Arthritis and wants to help but struggles with the large vacuum. I was lucky enough to score a Prime Day deal on this so I didnt feel bad about investing in it. I do feel that it is worth full price though. This is pretty light and very easy to use. I can vacuum the kitchen, bathroom, front door area, laundry room and area rugs ( my entire downstairs) in about 5 to 10 minutes tops and I have a large house. The first time I ran it across the carpet it lifted so much junk out that my large vacuum just wasnt picking up. This is SO easy to use on our stairs. It is light enough to carry up and down the stairs with no struggle too. The extra battery is so helpful. Id hate to run out of juice mid cleaning. My only complaint is that you have to fold it up to store it every time you stop using it. I would rather leave it upright but its top heavy. Still that is a minor inconvenience really.
