> 3 dayI had a Dyson V6 for a few years and absolutely loved it. I purchased one of those off brands form Amazon for approx $200. It worked well enough but crapped out after just more than a year. I found this one on sale on Amazon and it was almost $300. To be honest, the random vacuum performed just as good (maybe a little better). Lets just hope it lasts longer. Having said all of that it very adequate but dont expect a Dyson. Even the V6 out performed this, but I just couldnt see myself paying nearly $500 for a Dyson. The suction is good but only if you hold the extra power trigger which runs the battery down pretty fast. I have a couple Labs and it gets up the dog hair. Nearly every time I vacuum it fills up, and i vacuum almost everyday. I use it on our rugs and mostly hard floors. Id give it 3 and half stars if I could... but dont mind giving the extra half star because of the accessories.

Greater than one weekWe originally bought this vacuum last year because I needed something for hard floors and carpeted stairs without a cord after my Electrolux vacuum motorhead busted. I had read good reviews on the Shark VERTEX and after meticulously researching what I need, durability vs. what I can afford we decided on this vacuum. We are a family of 4 relatively messy people, including a toddler so I vacuum daily and need something with good suction power. We have no pets so at the time, pet hair was not an issue. Fast forward a year when we were forced to move and our housing circumstances changed, we are in a house with mostly tile but with carpeted bedrooms and no stairs. We also have three cars so being able to vacuum them easily is a must. let me first start off my telling you what this vacuum isnt! THE CONS: It lacks suction power for basic automobile use. The attachments that it came with dont provide a good angle in small spaces making it really difficult to use. This vacuum requires a bit of maintenece and the Shark fins are NOT durable. Like I mentioned before I have two messy kids so as you can imagine I find all kinds of things on the floor and this vacuum is not up to task for larger objects such as Cotton swabs, Crayons etc...they get caught under the brush-roll and have ripped up the shark fins. I realize this is a wareable feature and is not covered under warranty, but with how easily they fell apart, SHARK needs to work on that for future models. It does pick up a lot of fine dust, but since we moved into a house that the previous family had a DOG, I find myself even almost 6 months later still filling the dust cup when I vacuum the carpet with copious amounts of dog hair and dander. THIS is what made me decide to go back to a full sized vacuum. We bought a SHARK ZU782 and with the amount that this vacuum has picked up over the last day since we bought it, Ive decided my voice needs to be heard loud and clear. The Shark VERTEX cordless is NOT capable of the deep cleaning that carpet needs. It actually makes your carpets look worse compared to a full sized vacuum. Its only capable on hard floors, nothing more. OK SO the PLUSES or the PROs: It has a good battery life for a cordless. I am able to vacuum about 1,000 square feet of hard floor before it dies. It has met my needs in this way for both houses. Portable, easily storable and compact. It can easily be kept in a closet or small space if needed. It sure can take a beating. Its fallen on the floor a multitude of times and nothing has broken or cracked on this machine. Dust filters are easily washable (buy a second set if you need something readily available while the other two are drying) It has a closed system. Important for people that suffer from allergies including myself! It does a good job on hard floors, does not spray crumbs everywhere like other vacuums! SO all in all I gave this vacuum 3 stars, but ultimately this vacuum is going into the closet as a backup vac. We switched back to a full sized SHARK DUOCLEAN and are so far happier with its cleaning capabilities.

> 3 dayWe have a three level house, and previously had two plug-in uprights stored in our carpeted basement and carpeted upper level respectively, and had to haul one of them either up or down to clean the main level, which is all hardwoods except for a carpeted main level guest suite (which I use as my office) and a few area rugs. We adopted a rescue pup who stays on the main level, so we needed something more convenient that could handle her hair and tracked dirt along with food debris in the kitchen across the hardwoods, area rugs and the one carpeted room, while preferably lasting long enough to cover the entire ~1850sqft main level in one go. After a lot of research, I chose the Vertex Duo. When I first received the vacuum I tested it out through the entire main level. Not only did the vacuum last the entire level, but it still had a solid power bar remaining. I didnt realize how dusty our hardwoods were!!! Halfway through vacuuming, I noticed in the foyer that what I had vacuumed was glossy, while the floor ahead of me was almost matte!! The light on the front of the vacuum is excellent as well for showing dust and debris which are otherwise difficult to see! Ive been using the Duo regularly for a few months now and it has been a blessing (and is actually fun to use). I keep it on hardwood setting with regular suction over our hardwoods and smaller rugs / runners, only occasionally having to pull the turbo trigger, and it does a wonderful job. I use it on the carpet setting across larger 6x8 and 7x10 area rugs and in my office, and have never had to use the turbo function for it to get everything! Every once in a while I have to go over a string the dog pulled off her tug toy or similar a couple times, but the vacuum always gets it and never tangles. It leaves a clean floor with nice vacuum lines in my office as well. I can often track where my 8yo son has been by following the crumb trail - the Duo excels at making those trails disappear as well! Im 62, so I love being able to unlock and flex the vacuum to get under couches, tables, desks and such without bending over / messing up my back! Ive also used all the tips as well! The anti-allergen tip is awesome for our TV, tables, blinds, fans, etc... It swivels so you can get both above and below fan blades! The brush is great for furniture, air registers / returns, etc... The brush unclips to expose the pet muli-tool which I have only used a couple times since our dog isnt allowed on furniture, but it did well pulling various fibers off, so Id assume it would do well with pet hair as well. The handheld portion is light weight, and the edging tool does great on baseboards, corners, cars, etc... I couldnt be happier with this vacuum - it does everything I hoped it would and more, and offers a huge bang for the buck! Im not joking when I said its actually fun to use - I find myself vacuuming more now than ever (and not just because we have a dog)...

> 3 dayI have used this stick vac every day since receiving it and I really, really like it. Very good value for the money. The functionality where you can break the stick in two to vacuum under furniture is so simple to use and a complete revelation. Where have you been all my life?! I use this feature all the time and absolutely love it. I also like the exceptional maneuverability of the vacuum head and the very bright LED headlights, features I didnt even know I wanted but also love. It will literally move around in a circle from a static position. You can use the break in half feature to store it upright but bent over itself so its not necessary to lean it up against a wall. It does not come with a dock or any kind of storage mounting system. Another of the really nice things is that the top part breaks off to become a hand vac but, not only that, all the accessory tools can plug into the hand vac, including the power head, which is a premium feature I was looking for. This is very handy for vacuuming the couch or a bed and seems to be a unique feature as I didnt find it elsewhere. On the down side, I would say that the unit is a bit top heavy, which gives me the feeling that it could give you tennis elbow pretty fast if you had a second battery to extend the time you can use it. I am happy with the battery life. On the fastest non-turbo speed it cleans a combo of hard and carpet surfaces for around 20 minutes. This unit is not for deep cleaning but has enough suction to pick up Cheerios and dog kibbles as well as all the dust bunnies and pet hair on your solid surface floors. It gets my long hairs up off of the carpet, as well. It is IDEAL for day to day cleaning that keeps your house looking nice and makes big cleaning days far less work. Bravo, Shark!

> 3 dayIve had this Shark vac for 3 months now, and each time Ive used it, Ive told myself that I have to write a review! This cordless vac sucks up everything with ease!! My home has hardwood floors, ceramic tiles and plush carpet - and this vac seamlessly handles each flooring perfectly. Ive tried several other cordless vacs and they did not suction nor clean as thoroughly and as smoothly as this Shark Vac. This vac is not as light-weight as others, but thats because this motor works and does the job! The head pivots with ease and lets me get under - and around - my furniture. Its easy to clean and store. ITS THEEE BEST CORDLESS VAC!!

> 3 dayI wanted to get a cordless vacuum for my husband who has Rheumatoid Arthritis and wants to help but struggles with the large vacuum. I was lucky enough to score a Prime Day deal on this so I didnt feel bad about investing in it. I do feel that it is worth full price though. This is pretty light and very easy to use. I can vacuum the kitchen, bathroom, front door area, laundry room and area rugs ( my entire downstairs) in about 5 to 10 minutes tops and I have a large house. The first time I ran it across the carpet it lifted so much junk out that my large vacuum just wasnt picking up. This is SO easy to use on our stairs. It is light enough to carry up and down the stairs with no struggle too. The extra battery is so helpful. Id hate to run out of juice mid cleaning. My only complaint is that you have to fold it up to store it every time you stop using it. I would rather leave it upright but its top heavy. Still that is a minor inconvenience really.

> 3 dayWe have a Dyson wireless vacuum that I absolutely love. It’s maybe the second or third iteration of the portable vacuum so it’s an older model. When we bought it Dyson was the only company that made this style vacuum so I decided to splurge and buy it! I decided to give Shark a try now that this style is mainstream because this got good reviews and is a lot cheaper. Dyson has much better suction and just does a better job at picking everything up in one pass. However, the Shark is much more consistent. Our Dyson attachment would always clog or break and stop running in mins of use and there was always some work that would need to be done to get it back up and running. I don’t have this issue with the Shark vacuum. There’s also some handy features - I like that the main tube bends to get under couches. I also like the lights on the main attachment. The overall runtime is better than my older Dyson but maybe new iterations are better at this. I only got about 20-30 mins and now I get about an hour. I will update if anything major changes my opinion but overall, a nice vacuum. Not as powerful as Dyson but there are other factors that make this a worthwhile choice.
