Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Premium Noise Canceling Overhead Headphones with Mic for Phone-Call and Alexa Voice Control, Black WH1000XM4

I finally splurged and bought these headphones when they went on sale on Amazon. I wanted to replace my cheap Bluetooth wireless headphones that I bought on Amazon a couple of years ago.

By most objective measures, these are excellent Bluetooth headphones; they feel great, sound great, noise cancellation is great, and include some nice features. Unfortunately, Sony has consistently failed to deliver good build quality on their WH models, and as a result the left earcup CREAKS like a squeaky door hinge ever time I move my head or ears. The level of annoyance one will experience from this is sure to vary person-to-person, but personally I found the sound intolerable. After some research, it appears I am far from the only person to experience this issue; its extremely common, though some people report it within the first few days of use (like me), others after several months.

While Im sure that for many people these headphones are superior, I simply cannot listen to them after having gotten used to the surround sound feature of the XM3s (the one with concert hall, arena, etc.). For those like me that absolutely loved this feature, know that the XM4s does not have it. I have no idea why. I gave it a 2-star instead of 1 because of the multiple connect and superior mic quality. Again if this feature doesnt matter to you, consider the headphones a 5-star, for me it is a deal breaker and I will probably try to return them. Should they decide to add this feature back Ill reconsider this review.

As most reviews have mentioned, the noise cancellation feature on this headphone is top notch. It makes most noises disappear. If the noise doesnt disappear, it minimizes the noise. Thats still better than nothing. That silence does come with a price for plastic glasses wearers.

I like straight forward devices with intuitive controls that dont need owner manuals and tutorials to access successfully.

If I am listening to my iPad, I cannot pair it to my phone (both Apple devices). So if the phone rings, I need to remove the headphone to answer the phone. This was not a problem with my Bose.

Simply the best wireless headphones. Feel very durable and high quality.

The comfort fit is decent, almost $300 level. The sound quality is great, right at the 300$ level.

Awesome headphones. Sound amazing, amazing noise cancelation, super light yet feel sturdy. Only thing I dont like is the case pouch is on the bottom of the case instead of the top. Definetly shouldnt stop you from buying it.
