I bought a 4 pack of these but was only using one to control something just on/off outside. Then realized I could replace my outdoor up-light timer with another one so I could control it through Alexa, my phone, and timer all at the same time. I did have an issue with one of my plugs and contacted the company through the app and even though I only had an issue with one, they sent me a new 4 pack…what is great service and thus the desire to leave this review. So happy with this.

The product seemed to work alone but having difficulty connecting to my Alexa. Could not get help and Amazon agents did not speak good English, did not understand and tried to pass me to Treatlife, which I could not get a live person and they sent an email which I could not understand.

I liked these so much that I ended up getting two four-packs. I especially like that when you cut power to the plug, you can set it to default to on or off, or remember its last setting when power is resumed. This is useful when using the plug on an outlet that already has a mechanical switch attached. So for instance, the bedrooms in my house dont have ceiling lights, but do have light switches that control one outlet in the room. I plug the smart plug into the outlet, and then a lamp into the smart plug. Then I set the smart plug to default to on when power is resumed. Now, Im always able to turn the light on or off using the switch. And when it is on, I can then turn it off using the smart plug. This is nice, because other remotes Ive tried default to off only when power is cut and resumed, which makes it really annoying to use with a mechanical switch.

These work perfectly! I’m currently using for 3 Christmas trees and a plug in the garage to outside Christmas lights. The integration with Alexa works fantastic. Outside lights are set to come on at sunset and off at a set time while the inside trees are voice controlled and grouped with rooms.

Customer support is practically non-existent... just a series of questions that go in circles. These are unreliable. The smart plugs will randomly disconnect from the network and you must unplug and replug them in to have them work again. This really defeats the purpose of automated plugs... you place behind furniture in hard-to-reach places and you are repeatedly having to get to them to reset them. It is not an in-house network problem or location of the plug to the network... one is practically next to the wireless router. Its a poor design. No recovery attempts to self-reconnect. What is even funnier is the iPhone app tells you to bring your phone closer to the plug (BUT ITS WIFI NOT BLUE TOOTH).. I have no idea what they are trying to accomplish by wanting the phone closer -- it doesnt work that way... pure genius. Bottom line due to the random drops causing these devices to be unreliable I give these a HARD PASS. (Guess who will be surprised if customer service or support even responds here)...

I have bought several bar ads before. Some have worked 100% and some had several in the box that did not work at all. This was a box of four. One would not connect after repeated attempts. I put it away and will try again later. I am not sure what brands are 100% that will also work with Smartlife. The add device function worked easier on these than previous modules.

I like the TreatLife products in general. However, they all tend to be a bit difficult to setup for the lay person. I am an IT Professional, so I actually am able to figure out whats gone wrong when it wont connect or configure. I tend be a little more patient. But for the lay person with little experience in connecting smart devices, these plugs are quite difficult. It took me at least a dozen attempts before the app would recognize the device. The instructions dont match the app. And the name of the app in the instructions (TreatLife) doesnt match the actual app on your phone (Smart Life). These plugs are not listed under manual mode, so it was a bit of trial and error when it wouldnt connect autonomously. Overall, theyre good devices and they work well with Alexa. I also have the TreatLife color bulbs all over the house and they run their routines perfectly. I think TreatLife would do really well to revisit their enclosed instructions and make them match the actual app. Finally, they really should rework the SmartLife app so that the Option for Easy and AP Modes is more user friendly. Other smart devices have gotten around this minor configuration difference for varying Wifi configurations without completely frustrating the end user. It would be my suggestion to look at your competitors and mimick their approach. Your product is good, but the implementation is poor.

We were using several mechanical timers that were not very accurate and would make buzzing noises. These smart plugs are smaller, quiet and have accurate timers. The app uses Bluetooth initially to identify the plug. You then connect it to your wi-fi (make sure to have your wi-fi password ready). Setting a schedule was a bit confusing, the on/off indicator is strange. You set the time first, touch on/off, change it (to on or off), then confirm (the app says Confrim) and then touch Save. Once Id programmed the first plug, the other three were easy. I have not tried grouping the plugs. You just need the app on your phone to set/control these smart plugs. You do not need Alexa.

Another great product by Treatlife. Have their smart switches and love them. Glad they came out with these smart plugs. Works smoothly and as expected. The 15A /1800W is great to control higher wattage appliances. The plug is also smaller than other brands and small enough vertically to fit two in the same outlet pair. (Note: power strips have varied pitches between outlets, so depending on the particular power strip, the plugs may not fit on adjacent outlets. But there usually are enough outlets to space them out in that case.) The manual on/off button is on the side, which may or may not be convenient depending on how things are located. Something to consider if you plan to manually control the unit frequently. Of course, this is not a problem for voice control. App works well, Overall, a great product. Recommended.

We have used these Treatlife (TL) outlets, and one other, TL compatible outlet, for about 3 years now. We have them installed at our home and in my sons home. The App is easy to use and you can group devices by location. We can access both homes from ANYwhere there is internet. You can program timers by day, multiple on/off sessions. The outlets have a button for local control. The only application that (eventually) failed was a restaurant espresso machine which probably was too high amperage. However you can get higher power outlets that interface with TL so everything is accessible from the App. Highly recommended.
