This screen is lightweight, easy to move for best viewing position, and works with my MAC. The color quality may not be as good as my MAC monitor, but it is much less expensive.

I use two monitors. I had two 22 inch Viewsonics that got damaged in our 6.0 earthquake last year. One cracked and one finally started acting flaky recently. Since I like them to match I decided it was time to buy two more monitors. I went to the local Frys and bought a couple monitors whose brand names I wont mention because I think they were counterfeits and wouldnt be fair to the company whose name was used. They were so bad I returned them and came home and got on the internet to shop for Viewsonics. I still needed DVI connectors which is what drew me to these. A little bigger was good too. (24) They were $40 each more than the junk I had returned. This price is in the moderate to low end but make no mistake there is superior design in these monitors. I am 110% happy. Great color great sharpness. Good speed for games. There is a game mode with these that I havent used because it hasnt been necessary. After I hooked them up my wife came to ask how I liked them. I said I now have 4 feet of wow.

To put this review into perspective, I purchased this monitor to replace a 6 year old HP LP2065 20 LCD monitor which is not HDCP compliant. On installing this monitor, I noted that the image was bright and lacking in contrast. Brightness and contrast are adjustable in the manual mode in the menu. Adjustments made the image better, but was still lacking in black level performance. Fine text was definitely softer than that on the HP monitor. When scrolling text, a yellow smear was visible trailing the text. This effect was mostly eliminated when switching to the Game mode. However, switching to this mode sets the brightness and contrast to fixed values. They are no longer manually adjustable. I had attended a wedding and took pictures with my digital camera. I processed the raw files and adjusted them the best I could based on the monitors image. I had trouble getting them to look right. The color accuracy of this monitor is definitely sub-par. When I printed some of these pictures, they were dark and dull looking, not at all how they looked on the screen. I put back the old HP monitor and looked at the processed images. They were dark and dull on the screen, exactly how they printed. I reprocessed the raw files and now have good looking prints. At this point, I packed up the monitor for return. It cost me just under $15 to ship it back. Lesson learned. Here is a summary: Pros HDCP compliant Inexpensive Light weight Bright image No hot or dead pixels Good horizontal viewing angle Comes with a complete set of cables Cons No height adjustment Mediocre black level Poor vertical viewing angle Inaccurate colors Scroll smear Very limited image adjustments Unsuitable for photographic image processing Soft fine text This monitor would be suitable for non image critical applications or gaming where its fast response and bright image would be a plus. As for me, Ill be shopping for something better.

Excellent - does exactly what I expected it to, and looks great. Colors are mostly true initially, and that can be adjusted if it is a big deal for you as far as hues and saturation and such. Excellent 1080p viewing and the game mode works amazingly with games - everything is easier to see and all that good jazz with game modes on monitors and such (Im fairly new to advanced next gen gaming and all that - until recently my newest system was a Wii). If displaying pure black, theres a little bit of bleed around the edges, but its really only noticeable when it is truly an extremely dark color. I looked through quite a few monitors and reviews before deciding on this one and am overall very satisfied with this purchase - perfect for a 24in monitor for a multipurpose work desk. The stand is a bit flimsy; Ive seen and held monitors that you could carry around by the stand comfortably if you wanted to, and this is probably not one of those - but once its set up on your desk it looks plenty sleek and sharp. I actually end up moving my monitor occasionally and its no problem unscrewing the base and having the screen lay flat for storage if you dont have the box still. Great product, no problems at all.

I have no idea what happened. I just came home one day and noticed, while plugged in, the orange light wasnt on. Ive tested several outlets but nothing turns it on any more. Theres also no clear way to disassemble and see if its a PSU issue.

Bought this to replace an old 22 ViewSonic LCD monitor that was giving up. First impressions out of the box were similar to other comments here - MUCH lighter weight than my old monitor and yet quite wiggly on the provided stand. The first power-up without installing drivers provided very pale colors as others have stated. Also as previously stated, tinkering with the monitors menus provided no improvement as the color settings default to maximum from the factory. I was feeling disappointed, BUT, using the Windows monitor adjustments and installing the appropriate drivers markedly improved the colors. Some additional thoughts - I think part of the adjustment issue I had was not the fault of the monitor, but was simply the change from old LCD technology to LED lit screens, where as with room lighting LEDs provide a brighter, if somewhat harsher light source. Another change issue was the shift from the old standard sized and shaped monitor to a widescreen format that resulted in a monitor about two inches wider, but almost a full inch shorter in screen size. This somewhat deadened the effect of going to a larger screen, and has prompted me to start the search for a four inch stand to lift the monitor to center eye level and the best viewing angle. Dont let the above comments appear too negative - after the above mentioned adjustments I am very happy with the monitor and would by it again without hesitation. My gamer son loves the high refresh speed and brighter picture and I loved the reasonable price. Need a good, reasonably priced monitor? Get it.

[+] THE REVIEW: I got this monitor for programming code. I am not going to speak to the monitors color accuracy. I am assuming if you really want to have tuned color you need to use a hardware device to color correct any monitor you purchase. I dont have that hardware. The colors, as far as the naked eye goes, look great. As mentioned you need to first adjust the brightness and contrast. I turned mine down to 40%. I did not make any other color corrections. The 1080p works great for dotnet programming with visual studio. The wider screen allows me to have my toolbox and my properties windows active all the time without it interfering with the space to design the form. It actually works better than expected. For this price I am really glad I took a chance and purchased this monitor. [Update: 11/19/2014] The more I use this monitor the more I really love it. I am so use to using it now that I prefer it to my laptop screen. I stream HD video to watch Amazon Instant Videos, and it is perfect. When I looked at the price I paid, I forgot it was so low. I highly recommend buying this monitor if you are a programmer or just want to watch anything in HD. [Update: 5/27/2018] Im still using this monitor about 4 years later, and it works great. No dead pixels and color remains perfect.

worth the money but my only gripe is they do not auto-initialize so you have to manually turn them on. Im not sure if this can be changed from the onboard settings but either way; out of the box they do not auto-initialize. Ive got a g9 odyssey, an LG 26inch, and 2 of these in my cave. I just wish they would turn on when the signal is detected. oh well. worth the buy.

I got this to do some light gaming which it is good for. I had to make a few adjustments to get it to my liking but it plays breath of the wild, uncharted 4 updated version, ratchet and clank, and the Guardians game very well. As a matter of fact just about all of my PS5 and Switch games look good. But I also use this monitor to hook up my phone or tablet and go into DEX mode. It looks great and gives me a beautiful desktop computer. I think there are probably better gaming monitors out there but for what I use it for, its great. No dead pixels and beautiful colors. I use it for Disney+ and Youtube TV and both look awesome. When I play youtube vids at 60 fps they look awesome. Overall just a great purchase.

Dont do gaming. Average computer use. The picture/screen quality are really good. I do a lot of detailed work in color and the product is excellent for those uses. Speakers are weak. Even at high audio, its sometimes hard to hear. Will augment with another speaker system as this isnt quality. Like the pictures, though!
