As a digital artist and a gamer, choosing a good monitor is important. I have heard good things about the brand, and this monitor has not disappointed. The color is exactly what it should be (this is after calibration, of course) and the brightness can be adjusted quite extensively. Also, as a gamer, the monitor resolution is important so that the image is not distorted or limited. a 1080x1920 resolution is typically the highest resolution games support, even some games that go back over five years. The Game Mode feature is fantastic. I have had instances with very dark areas in games that this has helped me in, and it works well. Now for the bad. First off, the speakers are terrible for anything. I simply do not even bother using them at all. The included stand is a little bit wobbly, but you would need a very shaky desk for it to be a problem. Finally, the menu for adjusting monitor setting (this is built into the monitor, not part of Microsoft Windows) is difficult to navigate, and I have run into instances where I get stuck in a sub-menu and cannot navigate out. Also, the buttons are sharp and not very pleasant to press, but its easy to tell which button is which. All in all, I think this was a great purchase. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. I would like to see ViewSonic build upon the results of this monitor and further improve it, but I dont think Ill be in the market for a new monitor for a while, unless of course I get a second one to duel-screen with, in which case, Ill probably get another of these.

I was really torn reading all the mixed reviews, but I got greedy wanting the best features for a low price. So heres the scoop... Lets start with video playback. I loaded a 1080p copy of a pixar film and it was drop dead gorgeous, and the viewing angel is amazingly clear at wide angles! I could not test the 4k because my pc does not output 4k.. ok, now for the negatives. 2ms response time leaves bright yellow trails on fast moving items in games. I HAD to turn it back to 5ms for good looking gameplay. The only possible use of the 2ms response use might be in an audio recording rig. The picture quality does take tinkering, but even after dialing it in theres ever so slight of an overexposed brightness, and the right edge of the screen has a hint of grey fade but you REALLY have to have a good eye to see these 2 flaws, still yet they do exist. The stand... omg this stand.. I hate this peg-post single screw stand. Yes it tilts, but even as I write this review each keypress can be seen in a jiggle of the monitor, very distracting. Almost immediatly wanted to box it back up. This monitor WILL reqire an aftermarket stand, bracket, or wall mount. Oh, and keep those desktop speakers handy. You will be using them instead of these that are built in. Overall I have already got my return label, and will give it the remainder of 30 days before deciding if I want to buy a stand, and live with the slight overexposure. The only reason its not already in the box is because video looks sooo good on it. I do feel a bit fooled by the price though as Ill have to buy a stand, and Ill never see the advantage of the 2ms response time. If I return it Ill be looking for something with 5ms, no built in speakers, no 4k. Maybe given those criteria I can save a further $40. Pros Gorgeous Video! All input types/cables included (no HDMI cable) Accessible buttons, and you CAN force the power light off Screen does tilt back a bit Can be returned within 30 days Cons The included stand is a total fail, no support 2ms response time unusable in games/daily use Very, very, slight overexposure remains after tweeking also a very light grey fade along the right edge of screen

I bought this monitor to use with my MacBook Pro, which is running MacOS Sierra. So happy with this purchase!!! Installation was simply. I plugged my monitor in, using the HDMI port. It was immediately recognized by my Mac. I only had to check the mirror box in the System Preferences and I was up and running. I didnt have to mess with the resolution settings, at all. It works, looks beautiful, and is just wide enough to easily allow for two pages /documents on your screen, without using the split screen feature. I usually buy ViewSonic monitors, for my employer, so I naturally gravitated toward this brand. The monitors at my office usually last a very long time. After reading reviews, I found that ViewSonic is one of the best and cheapest brands for monitors. Im very happy with my purchase. Keep in mind that if you are plugging this into a MacBook, you will probably need a mini-display port, to HDMI cord. I bought mine on Amazon for $10. It is the Benfei 4k Mini Displayport to HDMI 6 cable; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0146N8BDO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are other ones to choose from, but this one works easily. It is a cord, not an adapter. Just plug the HDMI end (big end) into your monitor and the mini-display port (small end) into your MacBook. There are other brands, but this one had good reviews and seems to be a good quality product.

I bought this monitor about a year ago, a year and two months to be exact. I looked at the reviews, and thought this look like an excellent monitor for $200!(that was the price when I bought it at the time) So i went ahead and bought the monitor. It arrived, and it was straight away plugged into my old computer. It looked great. Good to the point where it needed almost no color correction, right out of the box. Then a couple months went by, and Im still using the monitor. Then it happens. Suddenly black, nothing. I thought my computer just quit on me. I looked at my mouse and keyboard, but the lights were still on. After about five minutes of trying to figure it out, I found that the power cable was loose. Great. so now every time your desk moves a little bit, the connection will cut out. Power is gone. That is annoying, so I eventually just taped the power cord to the monitor, which works. Now on to my second complaint, everything look sharp, text, pictures, and even video game, on this monitor. Except one thing... videos. The videos on this monitor look atrocious, absolutely horrible. And i know for fact that it isnt my internet quality. Its just that this screen is terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE, for watching videos. I dont know why, but it looks like it is streaming at 144p. Which is unacceptable.Other than those tow extremely annoying things, it does what it is supposed to do. I only wish that the power cord and videos were like other monitors. IF those were fine, and it everything was good, I might have bought another monitor from View Sonic. But that is not the cae, next time I will be shopping and buying, from different companies.

I needed a replacement for my high-end 4:3 Philips monitor. The replacement needed to have VESA mount provisions so I could reuse the adjustable VESA mount on the Philips. I also wanted reasonable sounding built-in speakers. Ive spent considerable time using the VX2452MHs on-screen adjustments, but the text quality and contrast fall short of the Philips performance. My assessment has not changed after ten days of use. Other than that, the image is good and graphics and streaming videos look good. The sound out of the speakers is OK, but just lacking the fullness of even small external speakers. No surprise there, however the speaker volume with the PC and monitor controls fully high is a medium level at best and certainly never loud. Not acceptable if you plan on being more that a desks width away from the monitor. One last thing is that the diagonal is 24-1/2 not 24 if that matters to you (The vertical screen dimension is the same as a 19-inch 4:3 monitor, and 1/2 shorter than a 21-inch 4:3).

I use these in combination with a docking station to set up generic 3 monitor work stations. So far I have set up at least 20 work stations. Meaning I have purchased and installed 60 of these monitors. Not one problem with any of them. For mixed office use they work great.

I read the reviews about it being bright, which for me was a selling point as my old monitor was not very bright at all. In fact you had to have the brightness clear up to be able to see anything. Not sure if my old monitor was always like that as it is now 10 years old maybe even older. Any way the video quality on this is amazing compared to the old monitor. I mean things look clear and crisp. Major improvement. Then again I said the same thing when I went from a crt to that old monitor. The monitor is bright but as I said that was why I bought it. However I was not expecting it to be this bight. I have to turn the brightness and contrast down to 5 just to get it to where I want it. Still brighter then the highest setting on my old monitor but I like it at this setting so it works. My laptop screen is actually the same way. Although on my laptop I have to turn it all the way off and that is only a year old. Speaking of which there is not all that much difference between my laptop screen and this monitor except for the size so I wonder if Lenovo gets their screens made by viewsonic. Not that it is that big a deal if they do or dont. Oh and if you are wondering why I bought this brand over any other brand it is because I have had 0 issues with viewsonic and even with the brightness being so high I still give it 5 out of 5 stars. Also it uses less then half the power of my old monitor.so it will pay for it self in a short time.

    Greater than one week

To put this review into perspective, I purchased this monitor to replace a 6 year old HP LP2065 20 LCD monitor which is not HDCP compliant. On installing this monitor, I noted that the image was bright and lacking in contrast. Brightness and contrast are adjustable in the manual mode in the menu. Adjustments made the image better, but was still lacking in black level performance. Fine text was definitely softer than that on the HP monitor. When scrolling text, a yellow smear was visible trailing the text. This effect was mostly eliminated when switching to the Game mode. However, switching to this mode sets the brightness and contrast to fixed values. They are no longer manually adjustable. I had attended a wedding and took pictures with my digital camera. I processed the raw files and adjusted them the best I could based on the monitors image. I had trouble getting them to look right. The color accuracy of this monitor is definitely sub-par. When I printed some of these pictures, they were dark and dull looking, not at all how they looked on the screen. I put back the old HP monitor and looked at the processed images. They were dark and dull on the screen, exactly how they printed. I reprocessed the raw files and now have good looking prints. At this point, I packed up the monitor for return. It cost me just under $15 to ship it back. Lesson learned. Here is a summary: Pros HDCP compliant Inexpensive Light weight Bright image No hot or dead pixels Good horizontal viewing angle Comes with a complete set of cables Cons No height adjustment Mediocre black level Poor vertical viewing angle Inaccurate colors Scroll smear Very limited image adjustments Unsuitable for photographic image processing Soft fine text This monitor would be suitable for non image critical applications or gaming where its fast response and bright image would be a plus. As for me, Ill be shopping for something better.

I’ve used View Sonic monitors in the past and always been pleased with them. No problems; they worked right out of the box, for many years. Main reason I bought this monitor was the View Split software – I had enough problems with a 2 monitor setup that it was time to go back to 1, and with the software to create partitions on my screen, this was a bonus, and exactly what I needed. That’s when the problems started. The View Split zip file was terrible. According to my IT professional friend – the zip was poorly made. It was only thanks to my IT friend that I was even able to extract and finally use the software. She commented on how poor the zip file was created. I’ve been working with computers for many years and when I have problems extracting a simple zip file and need help to extract it? You know there’s something wrong with it. Never in all my years of working with computers have I had problems extracting folders from a zip file – until now. I gave this monitor a 4 star review because of the view split software. Yes, it finally worked, but not without a lot of unnecessary time spent trying. Pros: 24” size; colors are sharp, crisp and true. Delivery was in 1 day. Outstanding. Monitor was packed well. VGA, DVI, audio and power cables included in the box. Cons: View Split software zip poorly made. The 1 piece of paper that passes for a “manual” was a joke. Font so small I would’ve needed a microscope to view it – so it was useless. I did download a better manual for this monitor separately and used it instead.
