> 3 dayJust received mine today to replace an older Acer display that is going on to other uses in my house. Installed the base no problem, hooked it up, no problem and off and running. First thing I noticed is that it is much brighter and crisper than the LCD screen it replaced. I am not an expert on color reproduction and all that. It seemed fine right out of the box. I did some minor tweaking in my NVIDIA control panel to tone down the brightness by about 3% but other than that, nothing. I play an online multiplayer game and I immediately noticed how much smoother this was and everything looked almost new. My old LCD was still a pretty good 5ms monitor, but this one transitions so much better. Other notes: -Using a DVI-D connection to my computer - I have a lot of cables lying around and for me the included VGA cable goes into the electronics recycle bin -This monitor uses a power brick but it is so small, its more like a power mouse -The base is great, my old monitor used to shake when the washing machine went into spin cycle. This one doesnt move a bit. -For the money, if you are looking for a good monitor without a ton of features, just want to plop it on your desk and be done with it, this is a great deal. -This monitor appears to be exclusive to Amazon. -Its a very nice design, very pleasing to the eye. -I have this side-by-side with a very high quality HP display and I think the two are comparable. With my old display, when I switched from one to the other, it looked like going from a shiny new car to an old rusted beater.

Greater than one weekI figured I would wait awhile before making this review. Its for the 23.8 inch R240HY bidx I feel I should mention the size because Amazon has this completely stupid policy now of merging reviews for what they think are similar products, so you never know if youre reading the review for the product you actually are researching, or the larger or smaller model with may or may not be similar in reality. In my opinion this monitor has good color quality, blacks are black enough, it can be tuned to be not too bright/blue (although most people seem to love screens as bright and blue as technically feasible). Its great for gaming, the screen looks larger than it is because the bezel is small. Its very thin. No dead pixels (my last 1080p Acer had one stuck red pixel, this was ages ago though). I have hopes it will last longer than my last one because of the LED backlighting. Main complaint is ghosting or trailing when scrolling on websites with dark font and colors that arent white. Theres a site I visit more often than others, and when scrolling the text ghosts pretty bad, its black text on a kind of blue/grey background and the ghosting is basically negative, as in it ghosts light almost white under the black text when scrolling. Hard to explain I suppose but even a literally ancient HP LCD monitor I have from Windows Vista era does not do this. Really griping I suppose and if you want consider this a five star review. I just dont give five stars unless I have no complaints. Acer is always a great value brand if youre willing to consider it might not last forever. Great specs and features for the price as always VESA mount would also be nice, if just so that I could get a second of exact same model for portrait use as a second monitor

> 3 dayThe monitor is nice but the stand is big and not adjustable. It takes up quite a bit of desk space in front of the monitor.

> 3 dayI picked this up for my new Asus ROG Oculus Rift system. I knew Id want something for others to see what the person in the Rift was viewing, as well as a way to use the computer outside of the Rift. I took a star off of it for how the inputs in the back of this come out at a right angle to the screen - meaning it has to stick out a way from a wall, you cant snug it up close to that or a cubicle wall. Also, supposedly there are speakers, but since I use this for an Oculus Rift, and that requires the HDMI port on my GT980 video card, I cant use an input that includes audio. And there is no Aux input to use a 1/8 stereo plug to connect it to the sound card. Other than that, I like it. Powers on pretty quickly, the base doesnt use much space, and the picture is really bright, really crisp, without having to be in torch mode to achieve it. I love the colors and the clarity. For the price, its worth it.

> 3 dayEasily one of the best, clearest pictures I have seen on a monitor. Easy to set up and is a very good buy. Unfortunately cant say the same for Amazon/Acer quality assurance. When I opened the box I had two VGA connectors and half of an AC adaptor. So I had to go out and buy a new AC adaptor because Amazon makes you return the entire monitor to just get the other part of the adaptor. My advice - great monitor, but buy it somewhere else because Amazons customer service is a joke. I also just cancelled my Amazon Prime because of this. Mistakes happen I understand, as I make plenty. But poor customer service can be prevented, and with so many people working from home, Amazon has a monopoly and could less about the customer.

> 3 dayGreat monitor for a reasonable price - this is the second one Ive bought since Acer seems to be very predictable in good quality at a fair price.

> 3 dayYou notice the colors first. Everything is more brilliant. Sharper image, exact colors, etc. I thought it might be too big for a home office but no, its just right. Some websites are better viewed on the bigger screen, a nice, visual effect that enhances the whole surfing experience. Very satisfied w/ my purchase and it also makes my computer appear to be faster b/c it loads the images faster; something I didnt expect but really appreciate, a byproduct of the different cable I suppose. Much better monitor all round and money well spent. I am not a gamer so cannot give any rating for that. 23 May 21 - b/c it is a bigger screen area you may have to adjust the display parameters. I have a Mac Mini and it was not so difficult to do. You need to play around w/ the values a little to get it just right.

Greater than one weekThis is a very good monitor for its price! I upgraded from a previous monitor that came with my Dell Inspiron that had Windows Vista LOL!. Very Old. Anyways my reason for upgrading: 1) Using it as an external monitor for my macbook pro for college work. 2) It connects to my xbox one s very nicely. Battlefield 1 and titan fall 2 looks awesome in this (in my opinion) BEFORE YOU BUY YOU MUST KNOW: 1) the monitor does not tilt up or down. 2) monitor does not rise in height and visa versa. 3) the monitor does no rotate To me this isnt a problem since my monitor is sitting on a monitor riser. However, if you are nit picky about this type of stuff, i recommend you look else where and compare! OVERALL THOUGHTS: 1) set up is very easy! can be done in 5 minutes. Simply connect the circle base to the back of the monitor screen and you are done! Its a awesome monitor for its price!!
