> 3 day4.5/5 Stars. Bought this on 09/04/2016. I was using a 21 TN Monitor before this. My use case is pretty general. I do some design work on the side at times, no gaming or anything. The setting I use during the day is Standard, but I turned off the blue light setting and set OSD to 0. At night, I use a custom setting -- the same as my Standard one, but the brightness is set to 10. I also use f.lux (warms up the color of your display to match your room at night) which I highly recommend if you are looking at your screen for as long as I do. PROS: - For the price, this monitor was far better than I expected. - The screen size is an upgrade from a laptop and 21 monitor. Not sure if I can go back to a very clunky bezel for long-term use now. - Colors are good. No dead pixels. No ghosting. - The non-glossy screen is exactly what I hoped for. - The power brick -- its pretty small compared to some Ive seen other screens come with. - Very lightweight. Easy to put together without any issues. CONS: - It is very wobbly and easy to tip simply by pressing the power button. That is the cost of having it be lightweight, I suppose. I can see it being knocked over very easily, so I do not recommend placing it anywhere too precarious. Definitely not near children or nosy pets unless it is weighted down solidly. - Man, it is BRIGHT. At times, this is really helpful for certain things. If you are a hermit like me that enjoys sitting in the dark, well -- youll have to adjust to that a bit. - The settings are difficult to navigate through. There is no way to tell the difference between exit/back, up/down, forward, and power on/off. Even after a year, I still accidentally hit the wrong button here or there sometimes. I put small piece of tape on the power button so I can feel the difference. OVERALL: I think this is a really good monitor to start with and I am happy with it.

Greater than one weekGood, but not fantastic. First, some positives, then my nit-picking: Packaged well. The box was not treated the greatest by UPS, with some minor crushing. The packaging was sufficient enough to protect the panel very well. No dead pixels. Even if a company has a good exchange policy for this, shipping back and waiting again is a pain. Zero dead pixels. (A special note, I will edit this when/if they do appear) Ok, now my nit-picking: There is a bit of backlight bleeding, but it is only really noticeable if youre using it in a darkened room. I usually have other lights on to reduce eye strain, so it doesnt effect me a whole lot. I think I was hoping for a bit richer blacks/contrast. Images and games that are variations of color and light look markedly better than my older Dell LCD, but shadows and darkness dont look much better. There is another reviewer who actually took a photo of this, and Im wishing I wouldve taken a little more time reading reviews. I think for me, personally, if I would have seen this in action before ordering/opening, I would have hung in with my 1080p Dell LCD from 2010 for another year or two before going to 4k or 1440p. Im not saying this is a bad monitor, just that I was investing in getting a bigger difference than what I actually got. Maybe the IPS screens I have seen were of higher quality in that department, and I mistook how much of that image improvement was due to IPS technology.

> 3 dayProduct is easy to assemble, somewhat flimsy support but adequate. Main selling point: acceptable quality at low price.

> 3 dayI bought two of these for a dual monitor setup. Unfortunately there are no instructions on installing the base of the monitor. The Quick Guide states that The monitor base is attached onto the monitor before shipment and it is undetachable. This is clearly false as nothing is attached to the monitor. Rather, there are two pieces included: A round base and a middle bracket. Attaching the middle bracket to the round base was easy to figure out. However, attaching the middle bracket to the monitor was not easy. On the first monitor, we tried different things and none worked. We then thought the base is pressure mounted so we tried to push it straight into the back of the monitor, and that broke two plastic tabs on the brand new monitor! On the second monitor we were more careful. After a few more tries, we discovered that you need to angel the middle bracket into the back of the monitor and then lift up for it to attach. If you do it right, it will work easily and quickly. If you find yourself forcing it in, then you are doing it wrong! Acer could make this easier for its clients by including installation instructions. Other than the above, its a nice monitor. I have a VGA and HDMI outputs on my computer so I used the VGA to connect to one and a 6 ft HDMI cable for the other monitor: TIP: If you need to use the HDMI port like I did, order the HDMI cable with the monitor as it is NOT included. They might have included it in the past as some of the reviews says it is included, but it sure was not included with the two monitors I ordered in Jan of 2019. Also, it seems there are two versions of this monitor: one with speakers and one without. The latter is more expensive. I choose the version without speakers as I already have external ones.

14-12-2024I’ve been using this monitor for the past year without issues and think it is a great product for the price. I work from home so I am a heavy user of my monitor. My old monitor was beginning to flicker all of the time which led me down a research rabbit hole and ultimately deciding between this Acer model and an HP. I opted to go Acer because it was slightly cheaper. I could not be more pleased. Connections: there are numerous ports that connect to different cords so it is a breeze to switch from my laptop to my husband’s laptop and our Chromebook. My laptop is 99% attached. Colors and clarity: my old monitor was old and small and pixel-y so anything was a step up. I had lower expectations for this monitor given the price and really just needed something that did not flicker. The first day I plugged my laptop in I was amazed by the colors and the clarity of everything. The Microsoft lock screen that swaps new stock pictures daily is absolutely gorgeous. My eyes do better when looking at Excels too. Size: I went with the 23.8 bc I did not want to get something obnoxiously large. I almost regret not getting the 27 bc the monitor is so light and thin. The 23.8 is nowhere near overwhelming and definitely is a great everyday size that blends into a workspace, but don’t be afraid to go big. Reliability: I have been using this exactly a year and the monitor has had no issues. It’s been great. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone looking for a great monitor that is thin and light at a great price.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor in 2019 for my second computer and after a year I mostly switched on that computer. As I mentioned above, for four years I didnt have any problems with it and I love it!

> 3 dayNeeded another monitor for my job and once again Acer has met my expectations. I have 2 other monitors, one in 4K and the other 1080p, but the difference between the two is subtle enough to where 1080p is completely fine. The main thing I like about this monitor specifically is the price.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor because I am replacing one that got broken a few days ago. This monitor has great colors and a good performance for work from home. I would not recommend this monitor if the purpose is to use it in gaming, because it has only 60 Hz refresh rate and 4 ms response time. I got it for a low price and free shipping, so, I am totally satisfied with the product!

> 3 dayI cannot give a complete review because the box did not have HDMI cables for the application I purchased it for. I did read other reviews before buying. Some reviews said they got HDMI cables in the box, others said they did not. I can confirm-YOU DO NOT GET HDMI CABLES WITH THIS MONITOR-BUY HDMI CABLES IF YOU NEED THEM. There, debate settled. I will add to my review as I learn more. At this point based on how it was packaged, I’ll give it 4 stars tentatively….. more to follow.
