Greater than one weekI cant believe home amazing this picture is. Combined with a 4k ultra hd bluray player with HDR10 and a 4k receiver the picture has vibrant colors and deep blacks. Even with regular bluray movies the picture is awesome, but nothing beats a 4k movie. Its always better to watch a movie in a dark room, but you can with alittle bit of ambient light coming in. I would much rather buy from Amazon, theyre return policy is much better than anyone else. I did have a hard time positioning the projector to the screen. Just remember the lense needs to be directly placed in the middle of the screen. I have a 120 inch screen and sit 20 feet away . its a perfect size for that distance. The projector comes calibrated already from BenQ which is nice. You can always play with the picture options to your liking. I had some video lag with the voice with the lamp set on eco mode and vivid mode. As soon as i set it back to D.Cinema and lamp at normal it went away . Google and forums on BenQ troubleshooting really helped me alot. For the money and the options you wont find a bettter picture . *****Update***** Ive had this projector now for 8 months and have had absolutely zero problems. I still love the picture it projects. Bluray movies looking amazing, but I only buy 4k movies.

> 3 dayHonestly, one of the best projectors Ive bought. Picture quality is amazing! Customer service outstanding! Color wheel broke about 7 months in. Reached out to benq and they were able to fix the problem!

> 3 dayOnly real dislike is that superimposed images and information, still or scrollng are jittery and it really annoys me. If is audition a 4k projector that does not do this then I will buy it if the price is not ridiculous. This may not be the fault of the 3550 but the broadcaster, that is to be determined.

> 3 dayPros Good picture quality and contrast. Good value at this price point. Cons Only for dark room experience even small bulbs can cause corners to brush and colours go fade. Quite bulky hence need professional service to do the mounting. Speakers are functional dint particularly like it. Would recommend only for those who wants to make serious home theatre setup in a dedicated dark room.

> 3 dayI was hopeful that passage of time and technology improvements would make this a better projector than my unconverting 2k to 4k. ....not so much. :-(

> 3 dayI got this projector back in Sept 19, and when I first got it, I had all the issues other had where there would be a line running through half the screen, but a firmware upgrade (which is very simple if you follow the directions on the BenQ page so you place the files on the USB drive correct, and also have the USB drive formatted properly to be detectable)), I have had no issues whatsoever. I did have a previous issue if it constantly switching between HDR and back to normal 4K, but that was because I was using a 35 HDMI cable. If you go 30 or more, you need a FIBER hdmi cable, or it will not work properly. Just remember, almost every fiber HDMI cable I have seen is unidirectional, so make sure to reach which side is source, and which side is display, so you dont have to redo all your wiring. I have had zero issues with this projector for the 1.5+ years after I made the changes above, and this projector is an absolute steal when I got it for $1500. I also would never use eco-mode for the projector, because like with eco mode on any device, it makes the performance thoroughly stink.

> 3 dayThe picture quality is outstanding, not just for the money but for any projector. In a dedicated room with a proper screen and light control it will rival anything you could see at your local digital theater. The colors are unbelievably vivid and the image is very sharp. There are several preconfigured modes, two of which are calibrated at the factory to meet 100% of Rec 709 and 96% of DCI P3. The only issue I had was that the HDR mode wasn’t calibrated at all and all the faces looked like something out Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Inspecting the color manager I found all the settings set to 200. I matched the color manager settings to the calibrated D. Cinema mode and it now has a more color accurate HDR image than my calibrated P Series Vizio LED TV. The bright HDR highlights of the projector can’t match the TV but in a light controlled theater room it looks amazing. Interstellar on UHD BD looks like looking through a window. The Dynamic Iris really brings out the details in dark HDR programs like Ozark in a way that I would say is almost equal to the local dimming of my LED TV. Now your experience will very greatly on your own setup. I have a dedicated room with .5 gain grey walls and ceiling and a 100” 1.0 gain grey screen. I sit about 9’ from the screen. I run it in Eco in all modes except HDR where it needs Normal to give full effect, and Smart Eco in Vivid which is bright enough for sports with the room lights at 20% This was a direct replacement for the HT2050 and it fit my setup without modification.

> 3 dayThe projector is great, however I purchased a new unit and received a refurbished unit and was told I could not get a replacement for it. I was also told by the amazon rep that Ben q would honor their 3 year warranty even though it was refurbished. I spoke to benq and they denied this. Unless it was reconditioned by Ben q themselves they will not honor the product warranty. To top all this the unit did not come with a power cord. After using the power cord from my existing projector I noticed a flicker on certain scenes and a 2” green line on the bottom center of the screen. Please be aware of what you receive.

> 3 dayGood picture. Some cooling fan noise. But the biggest flaw is the lens cover. Like the previous models, BenQ tethers a piece of plastic that you can use to cover the lens manually. This creates a problem: you have to be extremely careful not to change the position of the machine if it is hung from the ceiling. I wish BenQ could install a simple mechanism that allows the user to use remote control to cover the lens after done watching. Update: The auto keystone is a disaster. Even if you disable it, it is somehow still on, fighting with my manual adjustment. One star now.
