> 3 dayAllow me to start by saying that I had to return this projector. My theater room has a 1080 projector that does a good job but it bothered me that I got a much better picture on a low cost TV than I did in the theater room. After reading a lot of reviews and matching products with my budget I settled on the HT3550. I set it up and the right half of the picture had about 10 vertical lines; it was like watching a movie from a prison cell. I called BenQ and, much to my surprise, they answered the phone quickly and the support rep asked a few questions, had me try some things, and then finally concluded that it was them and not me. I played with it for a few hours and tried to ignore the obvious glitch. The colors and the sharpness were much better than my 8 year old Panasonic 1080 projector but still not as good as the 4K picture I get on my LG OLED television (no, I didnt expect it to be that good). But, I keep asking myself whether the picture improvement was worth the money. Im still undecided so I havent ordered a replacement. If I was setting up a new home theater, this would be a no-brainer. But as a replacement for a working 1080 projector? Ill get back to you.

> 3 dayI upgraded from a projector that I had for 11 years, it was good but only 1080P. After it died I looked on AVSforum and read a lot then decided to get this BenQ HT3550. I had to buy a new ceiling mount because this projector has a much shorter throw than my previous setup. Once I got the geometry figured out everything came together well and then connecting all the other new equipment was easy. I advise you find the documentation online to make sure this will work in your space for the size screen you want to use, to get an 85 diagonal screen to work in my case the projector could only be a little over 7 feet from the screen. Of course if you have a larger screen your setup will be different. Im enjoying streaming 4K shows and movies and watching my 4K Blu-Rays, the colors are rich and this projector performs flawlessly.

> 3 dayWeve had this projector for about 4 months now and have to say - its fantastic. Im sure you could spend more money and get a better picture, more features, etc, but for the price, I think this is the best you can get. We have a room that is a light beige color and windows on the back wall - if we wanted to watch this during the day without shades on the windows, the image would be a little dim. That said, any other time, the image is incredibly sharp and the HDR makes everything look great. Weve got it at about 135 and it looks amazing - highly recommended!

> 3 dayThe unit came wrapped in a protective plastic that when we took it off left a big sticky mess all over the unit that does not come off.

> 3 dayI have wanted a projector for a long time, and finally was able to get one. I did a lot of research, and i really loved hat i had read about this one. This projector is great. It is a 1080 projector with pixel shifting, so they can call it 4k. It supports HDR and has a wide color range. The latest firmware added ARC. Projector also supports 3d if thats your thing, I had a passive 3dtv that i thought was good, this is fantastic!!! Its really what 3d should be. I have watch a few 4k movies on it and it puts out a beautiful picture. I have also watch a lot blu-ray movies and it up converts great. What was my real surprise was watching old tv shows that were of not great quality. I feared seeing it blown up on a 110 screen was going to make it impossible to enjoy, and i am glad I was wrong. It even made old Andy Griffith shows look great. Now i am not going to lie, mounting this was not fun. Where it mounts, it is not flush, so you have to be pretty creative with the mounting bracket you use. If you choose not to mount it and just have it on a table, you should have no worries. You really need to read the mounting instructions well though, and make sure you have the room to do it. This is a shorter throw projector, so you can get a 110 screen from a little over 8ft away, but i wish i would have went with a 100 because of the room. If you follow the instructions even an idiot with no experience or confidence in doing anything like this can do it pretty well. It just make take a little longer than a professional. Dont let the price fool you, you are getting a high end projector in the BenQ th3550. This projector is beautiful in a dark room, and still looks good in low light, or light not directly on it. In a bright room its going to look washed out. Benq has the TK850 projector that is better in more light, so if you cant control your lighting that maybe better for you, but if you can control your lighting, again you cannot get better than this.

Greater than one weekOnly real dislike is that superimposed images and information, still or scrollng are jittery and it really annoys me. If is audition a 4k projector that does not do this then I will buy it if the price is not ridiculous. This may not be the fault of the 3550 but the broadcaster, that is to be determined.

> 3 dayIve been drooling over affordable 4k projectors since they first came out back in 2018 or thereabouts. First, was the Optoma UHD50, then the BenQ HT2550 and a Viewsonic and even an Acer. Yet, I didnt have the money at the time and these first-generation projectors used a DLP chip that left a lot to be desired. Come 2019, and the next wave of affordable 4k projectors came out. I embarked on more research and by the beginning of 2020, I decided to get the BenQ TK850. Why? I have a light-controlled but my screen is 180, so experts recommended to go for the TK850s extra brightness, with the trade-off of less-than-perfect colors. I bought the TK850 from another place since it was out of stock on Amazon. The unit came and it wow-ed me. It looked so vibrant and with so much detail! But once the excitement was gone, I noticed a lot of color inaccuracies and even some weird aberrations that distracted me. Nothing big, though. But, for the first time, I noticed the rainbow effect, and it drove me crazy! Sadly, I returned the TK850, and bought the HT3550, risking getting a dimmed image, as the experts said. After a couple of weeks of heavy watching, I can say that Im very happy with my purchase and that the HT3550s image is bright enough for my huge 180 screen. I upgraded from a BenQ HT2050, the 1080p version of this one, and the difference is night and day: From dark levels, to a gamut colors, and of course 4k detail. The HT3550 blew me away!

> 3 daythis projector has a great SDR picture I cant find any fault there. The Problem is I purchased this for HDR content. My projector upon entering HDR mode becomes so saturated with yellow that the BenQ built in menus show up yellow. I have reached out multiple times to BenQ for help and/or a resolution. All of these attempts fall on deaf ears if they reach any at all. Multiple calls with no answer after half an hour or more wait. multiple attempts to leave a voicemail only for the mailbox to not allow Messages. Two emails now dating back to the 13th of May 2020 (today is the 27th). To say the customer experience is horrible may be giving it to much credit. I havent had an experience yet. I am hoping I can save someone else doing their research the heart ache. You may get lucky and get a perfect unit, but if you arent into high stakes gambling without a great reward pass on it.

> 3 dayThis projector was a direct upgrade from an HT2050A and is my first 4K unit. I have to say, the sharpness of the image and richness of color continue to blow me away in the past few days Ive had it installed. The improved contrast due to the inclusion of a dynamic iris is an added bonus as well! My Home Theater is fairly small, being 11x13ft in size, so my front row is close to my screen. This was manageable with the 2050A as long as you didnt learn forward, but literally standing a foot from my screen I can hardly make out individual pixels. I skipped the 2550 last year because it seemed like it had a little too much baggage. But just like other reviewers have stated, I think BenQ nailed it with this projectors performance at this price point and many will make the jump over to 4K. Amazon for its part seemed completely aloof as to the stock situation with the HT3550, so fortunately I was able to acquire one elsewhere and couldnt be happier!

> 3 dayHonestly, one of the best projectors Ive bought. Picture quality is amazing! Customer service outstanding! Color wheel broke about 7 months in. Reached out to benq and they were able to fix the problem!
