Little bit of lag for gaming and All I really do are sports games. Initial load up time is a little long, but the picture is pretty good. Went from an epson power lite that was older to the BenQ

Everything about this projector is phenomenal. Picture quality absolutely jaw dropping, 4K content with frame interpolation looks like live action. I know most enthusiast dont like this feature, I love it. Its compact, and I love the look of this projector. The problem is since my theater set up is in a basement with a low ceiling I can hear the buzzing and the fan noise if its on anything higher than ECO. Fan noise doesnt bother me as much but that low tone buzzing sound is annoying and it ended up hurting my ears. This may not bother some people but I found it not tolerable. This is a known issue, and Itried to contact BenQ but it probably couldnt be resolved within the return period. I could not use this projector with that buzzing noise. here is a video of it, I had the same experience. I ultimately went with a Epson 3100, super quiet, I lose 4k but its extremely quiet and has frame interpolation. <iframe width=1280 height=720 src=https://www.youtube.com/embed/Qk6i9KjD2To frameborder=0 allow=accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture allowfullscreen></iframe>

We liked BenQ quality and resolution. We saw it in my friends home theatre and as they recommended bought the same for this thanks giving. Unfortunately when we opened the box and projected found half screen with verticle lines. Disappointed with that. Placed a return and replacement request in Amazon. Hope i will get satisfied when I get replacement. Update: I returned the defective one and bought another one. My God!!! even the second one has the same problem. When I checked with Amazon they asked to return it. When I checked with Benq tech support, they replied as if they know the problem and asked me to send to them for firmware upgrade. Looks like the respective firmware is not available for public in benq software support page in website.. Iam totally disappointed. retruning the item and going for Epson.

I really wanted to love this projector (ordered by my wife from Projector People). Really wish I could have seen the HDR in action, rather than the blocky, yellow-cast images (clearly not working right). After much research, I am inclined to believe my HDR problems were related to the 1.0.3 firmware (AVSForums had mentions of this problem). Ill never know for certain because I was also unable to update either of the projectors I received, neither the original, nor the replacement sent by BenQ. This is perhaps a problem with my laptop? I tried EVERYTHING. Either way, a projector should work properly out of the box; that falls on BenQ. HDR aside, the 4K image is sharp and smooth. SDR colors are rich and accurate. The PJ isnt super bright, but the blacks easily smoke my old W1070 (dark movies look way better). Alas, the HDR problems are deal-breaker. If I could have fixed it, I would have kept it. BenQ was unresponsive when I said I needed help. So stay tuned for my upcoming review of an Epson 5050UB.

Coming from a Benq HT1075 this is a huge upgrade. Picture is crystal clear beautiful bright enough for dark rooms. Darks are amazing! The cinema picture setting is the best with a few tweaks to color temperature but out of the box great calibration. The HDR mode is a bit too orange/red but tones down when you activate wide color gamut. Sound is as expected and you wouldnt be spending $1,500 for a projector without a good supporting sound system. The short throw was perfect for my set up. I got a great 100 picture from 8 feet or so. It is pretty quiet on normal lamp mode. Im very satisfied and highly recommend this projector. I hope it last!!

This does not work as a short throw replacement. Therefore, Benq has ignored thousands of its currently installed user base who wish to upgrade to 4k. How dumb is that? I am now shooting a 105 screen at a 6 distance. I would have to move this one back 3 at least. Go to projector central to figure it out yourselves.

I’ve had it 4 months and it’s already developing white spots this is way to costly for this to already happen
