Greater than one weekMounted at 11 feet from screen and it will only fill 80% of a 135 screen. Ceiling fan prevents mounting further back. I now have to move the ceiling fan to get it to the 13-14 foot sweet spot. Not BenQs fault. However a shorter throw projector could have handled the 11 foot distance IMO. I will try mounting it behind the fan first to see if it can work at 16-17 feet and still be bright enough. The pole mount places the projector below the fan enough to work. I can remove the light portion if needed. Initial picture quality is fantastic on HD, have not tried 4K yet. Color is great out of the box. Brightness better than expected with only 2200 lumens. With over head lights on screen was bright. With lights out its amazing with very dark blacks. Moral of the story, read the specs carefully and figure out mounting option prior to ordering. Otherwise the projector is a winner out of the box. Will update review in a couple weeks once we have tried out 4K and 3D.

> 3 daylots of projectors lies about contrast ratio. so far Ive heard the only affordable projector that come close to being in the thousands contrast ratio (yet less than the 2500 it claimed) is the benq ht2050a. so it sad to say this wasnt enough. but the movie experience was there, but I just couldnt justify spending this much on something that made me wonder what if. and brightness was going to get dimmer over time, and being rated at 2200 ansi lumens wouldve made it a scary, and unpleasant experience, each day gone by, before it died out.

> 3 dayPicture quality Pic quality is excellent on this projector. Color reproduction is perfect. Gaming also works well. I have not experienced any noticeable lag while playing. Waiting for my ps5 to see how the 4k looks

> 3 dayBrilliant Black Levels, Very short throw,Dynamic Iris is a very important add on. Lacking on Brightness. Does not support Dolby Digital/DTS Audio 5.1 on Digital Toshlink out. Ideal for small spaces but must have a for very Dark Room to enjoy. Overall its a Good Home Cinema projector.

> 3 dayI am a first time projector owner...all I can say is that I am amazed at how far along projectors have come. I’ll not a videophile but I know the different between 1080p and 4K and know enough about black levels and things like that to know when a picture is good and this unit has it all. My only complaint which is not really a defect is that I wish it was a little brighter. Again it’s not really an issue with the projector and they do offer another model that’s made for brighter rooms but I wanted this model since their higher lumen version will not match the color depth of this one. Overall i didn’t know what to expect when I got this but I love it. I have also tried the 3d but it’s just way too dark for my taste but my wife didn’t seem to care. Just my preference I guess. I may try using the BenQ glasses instead of the cheaper ones I bought on amazon to see if that helps but overall I wasn’t pleased. The images were very dark with a lot of ghosting in some scenes. Overall I highly recommend this projector for the price...you won’t be disappointed.

> 3 dayBought projector and have used it for viewing in home theater a couple hours a day on average. Now 9 months later white spots have appeared and the seller refers me back to manufacturer since it’s beyond thirty days. The seller does not back up the products they sell. Should have bought from A more customer focused seller. Lesson learned.

> 3 dayThis review is for the GP500 model. Wow, this is a tremendous projector. I dont think I can ever go back to watching moves on my normal sized TVs. The picture quality is outstanding. The clarity on a huge 125 screen is mind blowing. The color contrast is excellent, bright scenes will make you squint your eyes and the dark scenes are very cinematic looking. The projector still does well even with a little ambient light, but its fully glory is only seen in total darkness. The sound is excellent, surprisingly. I can postpone my need for a sound bar (for now). All the features such as auto focus, auto keystone, etc are very helpful, though not perfect. I found the auto-keystone not working great when the projector is at a long distance and off-center. When the projector is closer it seems to work well. The projector is relatively light and small, so its easy to move around and position. Overall, I am REALLY impressed. I hope this projector will last a long long time. Theres only 2 hdmi ports, which is fine enough, I will end up needing an hdmi switch to hook up more things to this projector though. This projector is also LED, so it should last quite a long time. I will update this review in the future if the projector does not hold up well.

> 3 dayThe picture doesn’t do it justice! The sharpness of the image and the sound is fantastic! We just plugged in our Roku and it was ready to play! We can’t turn the volume all the way up cause it’s too loud. It’s the perfect projector for our home theater room!
