> 3 dayFit as expected. Can’t rate as to durability, as I have just installed in my 5er’s hot water tank. But have used before & they have always worked as expected. This is a must have item, to protect RV water heater, and should be replaced each year - every other year, depending on how much the rod erodes.

> 3 dayI have an Atwood 6 gal LP hot water heater. The tank is aluminum and originally Atwood only installed a drain tap rather than an anode. As an industrial maintenance tech I thought installing an anode would be an good measure to increase the life of the hot water heater tank. The anode is doing the job well. The sacrificial metal is doing what is should do. As I drained the hot water tank for winterization Nov 2018, I got a first hand look at the condition of the rod that was installed Feb, 2018. Its doing what it is designed to do, sacrifice itself to protect the tank.

Greater than one weekBecause I have had problems with hydrogen sulfide smell in the hot water, I hyperchlorinated my whole system and then, removed my magnesium anode and replaced with this aluminum anode. Magnesium is more reactive than aluminum. My research suggested that I will get less of this bacterial reaction within the heater with aluminum. My wife will be much more apt to smile in the shower with less of the H2S smell. Sure hope that it makes a difference. It is at least worth the try.

> 3 dayThis product worked great straight out of the package. I previously purchased an anode rod made by suburban for my suburban water heater and I could not get it to thread correctly this one from Camco worked great straight out of the box threaded perfectly.

> 3 dayI had no idea that travel trailer heaters required the periodic replacement of these aluminum anodes until a friend told me. My trailer was five years old already, and the original anode was still in the heater. When I took the old anode out to put in this new one, I almost could not get it out. It had partially disintegrated while doing its work. The only problem with these anodes is the difficulty of installation. The round tip that goes back into the heater is long enough and heavy enough that holding it horizontal while you start to screw it in requires a bit of hand and wrench skills. I finally inserted the hex head into a hex socket and used my ratchet wrench to screw it in. Be sure to use plumbers pipe tape on the threads before you screw the unit in to prevent water leaks around the threads.

> 3 dayI was a little concerned that this product was a good 3/4 to 1 inch longer than the one I took out of my water heater. I put this one in and had no issues. It tightened up and sealed with no problems have used it for several hours and so far no issues. Its a pretty simple product so I expect this to last the long haul and work for the next few seasons.
