> 3 dayThe tank of an atwood is aluminum. All atwood water heaters have aluminum tank. For that reason, you do not need an anode rod. Anode rods are used in the SUBURBAN brand water heaters. I feel like has misleading advertisement! Do NOT change the plastic plug out for this, because you can very easily strip the threads where it is metal on metal.

> 3 dayThis anode installed well and it was recommended to me by other campers so I can only assume they work well. It got good reviews from others. Ill be able to tell more about how well it performs next year when I remove it and see how much of it is left.

Greater than one weekAluminum anode rods are recommended for hard water applications and magnesium anode rods for water with little or no mineral content.

> 3 dayJust what the doctor (plumber) ordered. Good stuff at a great price. My last one was still useable but wow was it taking a beating. This one is on standby for a little while. If you dont have one in your tank youll be sorry. It takes the abuse so your tank doesnt.

> 3 dayIt really makes a difference in the hard water deposits.... I USED to have a constant problem with the hard water deposits plugging up my areator in my kitchen sink, but since installing this Anode Rod, I have yet to have a problem in almost eight weeks now! (I hope it lasts forever)

> 3 dayI have an Atwood 6 gal LP hot water heater. The tank is aluminum and originally Atwood only installed a drain tap rather than an anode. As an industrial maintenance tech I thought installing an anode would be an good measure to increase the life of the hot water heater tank. The anode is doing the job well. The sacrificial metal is doing what is should do. As I drained the hot water tank for winterization Nov 2018, I got a first hand look at the condition of the rod that was installed Feb, 2018. Its doing what it is designed to do, sacrifice itself to protect the tank.
