It is easy to install. The instructions are very generic. They directed me to look for the connector in exactly the wrong spot. So I recommend before you take all the rear interior trim out of your vehicle look for the video on Tube of You.

Easy Install. So much better than trying to hack into your vehicles OEM harness and making a mess of things. Simple plug and play install. Everything just plugs in. Permanent installation is a snap and all connectors and wiring can be hidden and mounted easily inside the interior panels of the vehicle.

Perfect fit on my 2004 Subaru Outback. Its been a while, but if Im not mistaken I believe mine did have the connector on the passenger side they way other reviewers have mentioned.

I discovered a while ago that my trailers light werent working correctly.. After putting a mutimeter on it, I discovered the trailer harness was toast. So I ordered this one. This is true plug in and be done product. Towed a uhaul trailer recently and this did the job perfectly. Now sits in the spare tire area secured with the included adhesive. This is THE product for your Subaru Forester to add tow package.

It took me about 25 minutes to connect it and put everything back into place and was very simple to do. Im glad I took the risk to try it myself, instead of paying someone else to do it for me. They should tell you that its very difficult to disconnect the connector, so make sure its where you want it before clicking them together.

I installed this in a Subaru Outback and it was very easy. I have bought a few Curt products and they have always worked well. I have had this about 6 months and no issues. It powers the lights on a trailer that I sometimes pull around with the Outback. It took about 20 minutes or less to install and the instructions were pretty simple. Excellent kit. Everything you need is included. The fact that the standard Subaru harness was built with an extra plug for this trailer wiring was a Godsend. Just plug and play. It took longer to open the package than it did to install the harness!
