03-01-2025This is a great little vacuum. Easy and light. It filters very fine particles. I do recommend buying extra filters so you can have a clean one while the other dries out. I wish it came with a crevice tool but I do like that the tools it had are all attached in a way that I cant lose them. The cord is plenty long and the auto wind is great.

Greater than one weekOkay so this canister. Im a professional house cleaner, for the past 8 years and counting. I have used the eureka mighty mite for the majority of that time and, while its a great vacuum itself, the most common thoughts I had were, man I wish this had a retractable cord, and, wouldnt it be neat if there was a bagless option? And then lo and behold. Eureka answers my unspoken prayers like theyre some kind of mind readers, or Im not the only one with those thoughts. Lets start with the basics. This thing just looks sleek and professional. Its super lightweight, maybe even lighter than the mighty mite but I cant say for sure because that would require me to read the specs and Im not doing that. Ive used it a dozen times so far and I can easily cover a whole house without emptying the canister. The retractable cord hasnt failed me once. I love that the upholstery brush is attached to the hose and cant fall off and get lost in my car. I love that the wand is extendable and metal so it cant break like the plastic one in the MM. Its quieter than the MM. It moves across the floor easily and the adjustments for hard floor, carpet and upholstery are so much better than the previous guessing game on the MM. The suction power is amazing, it picks everything up the first go round and you dont have to repeatedly run over that one stupid leaf that for some reason just cant be recognized. Not with this thing, this baby picks it up first try. I have exactly zero complaints about this thing. Zero. It meets or exceeds all of my expectations for daily use. Seriously if someone had told me in my 20s that Id be borderline forming an emotional attachment to a vacuum in my 30s Id have been horrified. Yet here we are and when I tell you this vacuum is amazing..... Honestly its amazing.

Greater than one weekUpdated Review: After struggling with this thing to vacuum my cellar two or three times, I replaced the broken hose on my Hoover and went back to using that on my cellar floor. This vacuum is just too much work for me to use, maintain, and store. Ive retired it to a corner, where it will sit until I can find another home for it. Original review: I bought this to replace my Hoover commercial portapower hand vacuum, the plastic stretch hose on which broke in two at the handle after three years of intermittent use. So, I decided to try something different. The hose on this does not stretch, a plus for me. Ive only used it once so far to vacuum my hardwoods, area rugs, and cement cellar floor. Will take some getting used to. The suction on this thing is phenomenal, due in part to the design of the floor attachment, which is flat and hugs the floor. I read the instructions and experimented with all the settings and combinations on both hardwoods and flat pile area rugs. It works well on my hardwoods using the carpet settings. The hardwood setting hugs the floor too tightly, making it difficult to move. The carpet setting works on no pile area rugs only if you pull the wand towards you. If you try to push it forward, it gets hung up on the carpet, regardless of how you use the settings. It does not work at all on my pile carpets. The hose is a bit cumbersome because its pretty stiff, but Im tall and I can work with it. So, I finished vacuuming and even though the dirt cup was only half full, I decided to empty and wash it. Unfortunately, the dirt cup does not separate from the foam filter housing (you can remove the foam filter, but not the housing), so to wash either one they both get wet. And, when I checked the foam filter, it was filthy and required washing as well. Very cumbersome to work with. Currently, the entire housing and filter are laying in front of my baseboard heater trying to dry. I got this to use on my cement cellar floors, and it appears to be fine for that using the carpet settings. Picks up cat litter, dust, and small debrs. There is a small brush for upholstery, but no decent crevice tool, which I need to clean my dryer screen housing and vents. I do like the retractable cord and that the wand attaches to the machine for storage. I also like that it has wheels and I can easily pull the vacuum behind me. Ill use it for a bit and see if I can work with its shortcomings. I like to keep my vacuum dirt cup clean with each using. Not sure how well that will go because cleaning and drying is a time eater and I have no sink in my basement. Just not a good fit for me.

> 3 dayThis vacuum works good. Sucked up a lot of stuff my old one didnt. The tube could be a little longer for tall people but other than that it works good for the price.

> 3 dayEasy to use, nice attachments, easy to clean cannister, rolls, great for stairs, and cleans floors nicely. If you have shedding critters this mighty vac will become your best vacuum. Save the big guy for your carpets as this vacuum is a hard surface floor cleaner. Remember..if you do not clean out canister frequently (its so easy to do) dont expect it to function well.

> 3 dayI originally purchased the Eureka WhirlWind Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner for my stone and wood flooring. I have no complaints at all with its performance on bare floors. It works great for that purpose. As for carpet and carpeted stairs, meh. It doesnt seem to handle carpet that great. Now to be fair, I have dogs. Very furry dogs so any vacuum is going to struggle in my home. However, I will say that this vacuum definitely doesnt have the suction I would like it to have. I was disappointed to say the least but it has been a great find for our bare floors. So that will forever be its mission in my home. Super easy to assemble, the canister is also very easy to dump, and I do like the retractable cord.

> 3 dayIve had a few good vacuums over the years (Im 65) but probably didnt start using them with any experience until the early 70s. Ive owned Kirby, Hoover, Miele and my most favorite was/is my Rainbow Cleaning System. 6 years ago I moved into a tiny house and my Rainbow was just too big and cumbersome for 400 sq ft. I purchased a inexpensive Eureka Blaze and was surprised at how easy it was to use yet actually did an adequate, no frills job in picking up the dust/dirt/pet hair and debris from my 100% vinyl plank flooring home. After almost 3 years, it began to lose suction and I again started my research into a small vacuum that was inexpensive and easy to use in my small tiny house with all hard surface flooring. My search led me to EUREKA WHIRLWIND bagless canister vacuum. THIS THING SUCKS ... as in a phenomenal way for any size vacuum cleaner ... I was blown away at such a fantastic job it did at picking up everything! I do have a few small rugs that it did a very good job on but because of its superb suction, I had difficulty keeping them on the floor. I first cleaned all 400 sq ft ... even though it was recently done just 4 days prior with my Eureka Blaze. Wow ... it filled up the canister around 3/4 full of stuff! Like most people have mentioned ... the retractable cord is nice ... and I found for a tiny house a 16 ft cord was plenty big ... but something perhaps for others to consider. Im 6 ft tall and enjoy having the telescoping metal portion totally extended and LOVED how flat the vacuum head pivots almost flat to go under furniture, etc ... a huge plus! The built-on retractable brush/crevice tool is a good addition for all items at eye level or below ... but it is totally impossible to use the attachment on my blinds or ceiling fans unless I hold it up by the handle ... doable but not ideal. Since Im pretty tall and was limited by the attachments length/reach ... I bought one of the recommended inexpensive set of attachments (6 piece set) which included a totally necessary adapter in order to make the attachments function with the Eureka Whirlwind. I attached the adapter to the end of the metal telescoping wand and then all of the brush/crevice attachments fit right into the adapter ... the results were perfect! I was able to clean the upper part of higher windows and even my ceiling fan! For those reviews who said these inexpensive attachments do not fit ... my guess (???) is that they forgot to use the provided adapter. Truthfully, for the price ... even with adding on the cost of the adapter with attachments ... it did a really, REALLY great job ... LOVE IT! As far as who I believe would benefit from purchasing this vacuum cleaner ... definately those who have all or mostly all hard surface flooring. Also, I think that people who are on a budget and dont mind a canister style vacuum cleaner ... they, too will love this. For me ... for this tiny house with solid surface flooring ... it is almost perfect. What would have made it perfect? Well, if the adapter and attachments would have been provided ... then it would pretty much have been perfect!!!
