Updated 2021-7-21: (1 star) This smart plug failed in about 9 months light use. This is poor quality. Reached out to seller regarding warranty and I was told There will inevitably be some small regrets. Thus, Im revising my review to 1 star. Original review: Some inconsistent behavior (4 stars) These are my first smart outlet plug with energy monitoring. Overall I like them. Here is the review. The good: - Good software compatibility. It is compatible with Smart Life app and thus integrated with Google assistant and Alexa. - Easy to install. The installation is straight forward and easy to follow within the app. - Energy monitoring. Its great to have an idea how much energy the appliance is using. Other thoughts: I got a pair of the plug and they behave differently. One immediately upgraded its firmware to 1.0.3 upon installed and the other stayed on 1.0.0. As a result, the color of on/off are reversed for the pair, which is awkward. For this reason, Im taking 1 star off.

This works fine as a generic smart plug with the associated app. However, the process that you are guided through to link it with Alexa DOES NOT WORK. When I hit the link button it opens a page that says the app is out of date and I have to update before linking. There is no update to the Gosund app nor the Alexa app. I bought this explicitly to work with Alexa. So, its kinda worthless. I guess it was only $10. Unfortunately, I feel like I now have to use that overused phrase that I hate reading in reviews and makes me think it was written by someone much older than myself. You get what you pay for.

The power strip works fine and pairs with Alexa. Whats annoying is the buzzing noise when plugin and something are loose inside thats rattling. Update: I received my replacement today and the power strip works perfectly with no issues

I was looking for a plug that can be controlled automatically because I figured that I can make my home appear occupied and this 2 pack seemed like a no brainer. The price was so cheap so I was not expecting too much but I was pretty surprised when I gave it a try. This device was simple to set up and they add a USB port to every plug where this is placed. I do not really use the Alexa feature but I do use the remote control option through the app which helps me add more custom options such as schedules to the devices that are connected. I plugged in my Christmas tree to one of these and set a schedule that automatically turned it off during the morning and on during the day. Right now I just have a couple of lamps connected to them with a random schedule that makes it seem like there is always someone at my home. There really are no cons with this product, it does not block the other ports and, like I mentioned before, it adds a USB plug. Overall great product that does not really make any compromises. There really is no feature that I felt was left out of this device. The price is affordable and I think believe I get an awesome deal. I hope this review helps you make an educated decision with your purchase.

Love the smart plugs.... just what I need to control my crock pot while away

Purchased 2 of these intending to use at my remote lake cabin - 1 on my router (for power reset if/when needed) and 1 for a well pump to control on / off remotely. 1 of the outlets worked for the first use only, then, even though the WIFI on/off function worked, the outlet wouldnt actually turn on. The 2nd outlet worked for multiple cycles however, upon setting these outlets up, I learned that these outlets work ONLY on local WiFi e.g. the outlet(s) and your phone app need to be connected to the same WiFi network LOCALLY. These outlets are NOT intended to be managed remotely over the internet. Ill be returning these outlets. The fact that the outlets cant be managed when used remotely wasnt clear in the product descriptions / details.

This was a great way to control the lights in the house from my phone. Too bad it stopped working after 4 months.

Have only plugged in 2 out of the 4. But one of them is already having problems. Won’t respond when I want. Then flashes on and off constantly. So far 1 out the 2 that I have used has lasted just under a year but says I can’t get support anymore. :/ 50% is pretty bad. Also there is NOOOOOOOO way that you can use 2 of them on one plug. Too big to fit. But you still can use the other outlet in the plug regularly.

I love this I want to get a few mores!

Device work as advertise. It does work with Google Mini and Alexa. To add to google mini look under Smart Life devices. Only reason I give this a 4 star is because due to its bulky design you can only fit one of these in dual outlet sockets.
