> 24 hourWhen I was first shopping for a Herschel Backpack and had decided I liked the Little America look, I read through multiple reviews that said that the full-size Little America would look too massive on a person my height (55), so I ordered the mid volume instead. That was a big mistake. Im a college student, so I was looking for a backpack to wear around campus that would look nice even if I were wearing a dress and overall nicer clothing. Whenever I wear the typical L.L. Bean, North Face, or IVAR backpack with a dress, I feel rather like a small child whos been dressed by their mom for first grade. So I definitely wanted something that looked a little more adult and sophisticated, but I still needed it to be a size that would accommodate binders, multiple novels or literary textbooks, a pencil case, and my laptop. The mid-volume simply couldnt store all of that. In fact, it couldnt even fit the binder I needed, much less that along with a laptop and books! That aside, the mid-volume also looked terribly odd on a person my height! I felt more childish wearing that than I did wearing the more athletic style backpacks, so it had to go. I returned it and got this full-size Little America instead, and I absolutely love it! It fits everything I need and looks nice with everything I would ever wear to class. Plus the laptop sleeve is lined with this awesome faux fur fleecy material that keeps my Macbook dust-free and safe in the backpack. It has two little side panel pockets on the inside, and I like to stick a pencil case in one and sometimes a granola bar or piece of fruit in the other if Im going to be stuck on campus for a long time. The front pocket has a convenient clip to stick your keychain on, which is super nice if you misplace things as much as I do. Plus it just acts as a nice thing to keep those keys from wandering around in the big pocket of the backpack. One of my favorite things about this pack is how versatile it is, though. Because there arent dividers in the main section of the backpack, aside from the laptop sleeve of course, this school backpack switches to a weekend bag super quickly and easily! Its just as easy to store clothes and such in it as it is books and notepads, which is different from some of the other backpacks Ive had (see first paragraph for example brands). Bottom line: I love this bag. Its just what I needed, and it was such a good use of money.

> 24 hourThis is by far my favorite backpack ever (and Ive had a few). I am a law student, but I also work full-time. The option is to either 1) get a traditional back-pack, which makes you feel like you are in high school, or 2) resort to a more professional bag that tends to be less comfortable or hold less items. But with Hersherls Little America Mid Volume bag, I get the comfort and ability to carry lots of items, without compromising my professional look. I CONSTANTLY receive compliments on this bag. The interior laptop section is lined with faux fur material that provides extra protection for your most expensive items. The bag also expands quite large to hold heavy books. There is a pocket to place your cellphone and string headphones through, but I am constantly looking at it that I use that space to place a travel-sized deodorant. In the other small pocket on the inside of the big pouch, I am able to fit a small bottle of tylenol in case I am not feeling well. The front of the bag has a another pocket which nicely fits my pencils, pens, highlighters, and any other small things you might need. The drawstring features cinches everything up nicely so that you feel secure, and then you lock it with the magentic clasps. I live in a big city and ride a metro system, so knowing my belongings are secure is of great importance. Especially, since the bag is on my back, you would feel if someone was trying to get into your bag. And the straps are nicely cushioned and really help to take the weight off of your shoulders and back. I am quite petite - 52 - and this bag is not overwhelming, but holds everything you would need. I was nervous whether the mid-size would be big enough, but I am glad I went with it. Ive had this bag for well over a year now and it looks just as good as when I bought it. It has held up very well to the throwing on the floor, sliding across tables, etc. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this product to friend, family, or anyone else. It was worth every penny!!

> 24 hourI was looking for a decently big sized backpack just because Im transitioning into university, and I needed something that had a lot of padding and enough space for my books/laptop. I own a 13 inch MacBook Pro that I carry around (the backpack holds up to 15 inches), four notebooks, and miscellaneous things like my laptop and phone charger. If youre looking to carry around large books and notebooks, I would look into getting another backpack because I find that I cant fit large books into this backpack. The only complaint is the flap, you have to keep opening it and closing it which was annoying at first but I got used to it. The small opening in the front, I only use for my charger because thats all the space I have. Overall, very worth the purchase at a good price. I believe that other websites do have these for discounts though, so use Amazon as a last resort.

> 24 hourBought this backpack to carry lunch and snacks to work. It does almost everything I need it to do. 4 stars just because I feel lit needs more pockets AND the cellphone pocket needs to be adjusted/upgraded to fit the bigger phones. I have the 12pro and it doesn’t even begin to fit in the 2 cellphone pockets. I end up just putting my cash tips in those two pockets

> 24 hourThis is by far my favorite backpack. It has the ability to carry so much, and its very comfortable to wear. The padded pocket for the laptop is really nice to provide some protection, im able to fit alot more in there then just the laptop, whether its the charger or an iPad, or even an external hard drive. I use this as my daily backpack because of how much I can fit in without it being a huge bag on my back. The only thing that I wish would be that it had a water bottle pocket on the side but you cant win them all.

> 24 hourIm a girl and Im 57. I debated between getting the mid volume or the regular sized Little America, and Im really glad I got mid volume. I have a thin frame so the backpack fits me just right. Its not to big or too small. Theres enough room my my computer (the fleece lined compartment is so nice that I dont carry my macbook in a case anymore), two 1.5in binders, a medium sized textbook, and my lab coat. The padding on the straps are heavenly. Its kind of unfortunate that theres no side strap for a water bottle, but it doesnt bother me too much. The front pouch is kind of useless, and a little hard to access (in general getting your stuff in and out of any compartment in the bag will take more time, but its worth it. This backpack is really nice and totally worth the money. I grew up with Jansport backpacks, but now that Ive tried Herschel, Im never going back. If you get the backpack, a pro tip is always rest the backpack with the straps facing up. I caught my mistake early, but the ends of my straps got a little frayed because I wasnt resting it right.

> 24 hourI love this backpack! It looks great and it holds a lot of stuff. I do use a packing cube to keep my clothing organized and separate from the other contents. I can fit two days worth of outfits, travel skin care elements, travel sized flat iron, hairbrush, two to three paperback books (or a laptop), mirrorless camera with long lens, and a water bottle. The backpack is comfortable when loaded, but the structured fabric keeps its shape even when its fully packed. I look forward to traveling just so I can use this backpack. My only complaint is the lack of external water bottle pocket for easy access.

> 24 hourI bought this 9 years ago and still use it all of the time. It’s in excellent condition. The durability is worth every penny. The padded laptop sleeve is still soft and sturdy even after throwing it in the washing machine a few times. A friend even borrowed it for a hiking trip after I used it in college for years. It’s definitely got a lot of miles on it and has held up incredibly.

> 24 hourI love this backpack, I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. I need a new backpack because the one I was using previously put too much strain on my neck, back, and shoulders. As a student, I have to carry a lot of gear: multiple full binders, planner, notebooks, folders, laptop, supplies, etc. What I love about this bag is it is a little smaller than my last bag so it helps me only carry the essentials, but it still fits a lot. Also even when the bag is completely loaded up it feels comfortable on my back. The weight stays close to your back and is evenly distributed so it’s easier to walk long distances with a full bag. The padding on the back is the best I’ve ever had on a backpack and it’s one of my favorite features. I highly recommend this bag for it’s comfort and functionality. I would definitely purchase another one if needed, this bag is super sturdy. **For sizing reference I purchased the 25L. My last bag was 34L. Even with the difference in size my Herschel fits everything I need plus some. Also fit and height wise, I’m 5’11” and this bag sits from the top of my hips/ lower back to my shoulders. It’s a taller bag but the height helps a lot with pack weight distribution.
