> 24 hourWow! I had read the reviews, but I still wasnt prepared for how amazing this machine is! We had some horrible stains that we assumed could had been grease dragged in by our mechanic son. We tried different sprays and couldnt get the stains out. My son used this carpet cleaner, and after he went over the stains a few times, they disappeared. I wish I had before photos to show you how great it is. The dirty water also blew me away after he cleaned the room. I had no idea how bad the carpet was, even though its vacuumed at least once a week. The water was full of dirt and cat hair. This machine is worth every penny. I plan to talk my son into cleaning every room in the house now! Highly recommend!!

> 24 hourI wanted to write this review after I’ve used it a few times. I previously had the bissell pro heat. All things are made of plastics now, it lasted about 3 years. I like that this unit has a separate container for clean water and dirty water. And they are huge. I love that it has separate soap dispenser then the clean water. You can wash an area and the flip the switch and rinse it without having to change out the container. My old unit had two long horizontal brushes, this one has several round brushes. I don’t feel I can go as fast as with the other but it seems to do a better job. I bought the one without heat and for that price I think it’s very good. My old unit had heat and it really didn’t seem to make a difference in the cleaning. I highly recommend buying this.

> 24 hourOkay, so the thing is more lightweight than my old hoover shampooer and makes much less noise. It does a good job as far as I can tell cleaning the carpet and throw rugs. Have to give it 5*s on that count but I could not find hoover shampoo at Walmart so I brought an off-brand. But could not be sure how much to add to the soap dispenser because I didnt know how much water the other half of the dispenser held. I had to get an empty gallon container and pour it into the water side of the tank to know how much of shampoo solution to add to the other half. In the end, it was way too soapy as I probably put in too much. Whatever. I used it anyway. THEN here is the part to be careful about (the design flaw). The dirty water container has two latches, one on each end. I unlatched the wrong end and then when i picked the dirty water tank up and out to dump it... it released dirty water all over the floor! Luckily it was on a tile floor and i re-attached the dirty water tank and sucked it right up. Now that I made that mistake once, wont be doing THAT again. Overall, now that i have gotten the hang of it, its going to be just fine. I like Hoover products. I used my old hoover shampoo for nearly 10 years and let my family borrow it too. I have a hoover vac that is awesome and love it. It was great and this one is going to be great too now that Ive made a few mistakes and figured out how to use it properly. I recommend it overall with the above caveats. Hope my review helps someone.

> 24 hourI’ve used this a fair amount since I bought it, and here are some random thoughts: 1) Hooked/Berber Rugs: I bought this specifically for the attachments because I thought I would need them to clean my hooked rugs (like Berbers with a looped pile) to protect it. After being on my hands and knees for ½ hour with the attachment, I realized that it was an exercise in futility, so I broke down and used the machine as intended. Well, turns out that the brushes are actually quite soft and gentle so it worked perfectly without damaging the rugs. 2) Rust: I read a lot of reviews that complain about the machine rusting, so I remove both the brush head and clear plastic nozzle (cow catcher on the front) before storing it. Can’t say whether this approach works or not (I’ve only had the machine for 6 months) but it can’t hurt. I’m hoping that it will help any residual moisture to dry out more easily. I also clean out the tanks well and make sure that they are really dry before putting them back on when I store it away. 3) Cleaning the brushes: No matter how much I vacuum first, this machine still manages to pull up a ton of dog hair from my rugs (maybe I need a new vacuum?). Anyway, all of the hair ends up buried deep down in the brush bristles. It turns out that you can remove the brushes from the clear plastic assembly that encases them, but frankly I’m scared to break the little locking tabs. As a result, it seems that soaking and “swishing” the entire assembly in a bucket of water seems to clean it fairly well. 4) Soap dispenser: Frankly I think the fill line ends up holding way more soap than you can use with one tank of clean water, and there’s no easy way to get it back into the jug so it’s a waste. I only fill the dispenser about ½ full. 5) Yellow “float” pops up: When the float pops up you loose suction, and it seems to be because the filter is blocked. This is probably the most annoying thing about this machine. I thought it was just the dog har that was blocking the filter, but even removing it with a clothes brush didn’t help. Now I’m convinced that soap build-up causes the blockage, and rinsing the filter with a lot of clean water seems to solve the problem. 6) Cord: I managed to run over the cord several times, which can’t be a good thing, so I finally looped it through the upper cord storage hook which fixed the problem. 7) High/Low Rugs: Not sure that any carpet machine could handle this, but the brushes cant reach the low parts of my high/low sculpted rugs. The attachments help though All in all I’m very happy with this machine and with how clean it gets my rugs. It’s not terribly heavy, so I’m able to clean all of my carpets without feeling like I ran a marathon. The price also seems reasonable when compared to others on the market.

> 24 hourI have carpet that’s really brand new, only six months old, but because it’s very light, it took stains quickly, even though I had people takeoff their shoes. I couldn’t find a carpet cleaner who would work Highup on a penthouse, so I decided to just buy one and see how it went. I figured I could return it if it didn’t actually work. That’s the thing I like about Amazon. I think the picture speaks for itself. The carpets were badly soiled and you can see on the middle strip where I cleaned only one side, that the clean side is almost like brand new. I’ve never written a review before, but I’m motivated to do this, because it worked beyond my expectations

> 24 hourMY 20 year old Hoover spin brush 50 Died a few days ago. I needed a new Turbine part which Hoover didnt make any more so I bowered my daughters Bissel and that didnt work at all so I ordered a newer Hoover 50 which I received in 3 Days.....WOW!!!! This Hoover did a Fantastic Job on my 15 year old carpet. On the last pic there was a dark grey path from my Bedroom to the kitchen....IT is GONE! This Hoover operates similar to my old one, except it has a rinse feature which I like. I didnt like the cord hook....could have had a lock feature and a couple of feet longer. All in All Hoover is the best in my opinion.....Hope this one lasts 20 anual use years!!!! CLEAN yor Machine after each use....It will last longer!!!

> 24 hourI bought this because I was tired of paying carpet cleaners almost the price of this unit for one single visit. We have dogs, and being able to spot clean is important. I thought this would be a useful unit to have. With that said, I didnt want to pay a lot of money for a carpet cleaning unit because I wasnt sure I would use it - and keep on using it. Now Im sure. Ive found that its very useful and I probably have pulled it out ever 3 weeks or so for something. There is something really satisfying about dumping the dirty discharge water down the drain. You really feel like you are making progress on the carpet. However, that can also be a bane because Ive gone over areas of carpet several times and continue to get dirt out of them. Makes me want to just keep on going and going which really isnt practical. You have to decide what clean enough looks like for you and stop at that point. WHERE IT EXCELS: * I think I get my carpet as clean or better than the professionals. Not because it has as much power, but because I use it more thoroughly than a professional might use their equipment. For example, weve had an area of highly tracked carpet that has looked bad for years, even after professional cleaning. I have gone over it 6 times with this unit and it looks far better than it has in years - even after the professional cleanings. I can simply take the time whereas a professional has to move on to another job at some point to make money. If you have time and willingness, Ive found it to be very effective. * It is great for the occasional spill. Seems to clean them up very well. Ive used it on cut berber carpet as well as tightly stitched carpet. Pet stains, wine, and cranberry juice all came out completely. * It is good for over cleaning the highly tracked areas of your carpet. Rather than call in a professional carpet cleaner to do a lot of your house which may not actually need it just so you can get cleaned a highly tracked area, you can focus on just the highly tracked area. AREAS IN WHICH THIS UNIT IS OK: * Its a lot of work to clean your own carpet. The amount of work is proportional to the capacity of the water, solution, and discharge reservoirs. This unit has struck a pretty good balance between those capacities and weight of the unit when full of water. But its still a lot of work. * It takes a long time to do it right. You have to go over every area of carpet minimally at least 8 times. Why? 1) A stroke out and back to lay down the cleaning solution. 2) A stroke out and back to suck up the cleaning solution. 3) A stroke out and back to lay down water only for a rinse. 4) A stroke out and back to suck up the rinse water. 8 times, minimally. Based on my experience though, to really do it right, you will want to rinse at least twice and on the final sucking up of the rinse water, go back and forth a few times, not just once, so the carpet dries more quickly. So to do it right as I see it, you are really covering every square inch of carpet ~14 times. (You have rinse really well or else dirt is attracted to the soap in the cleaner and you quickly end up with dirty carpet again.) And while doing this, you have to keep dumping the dirty water and refilling the reservoir with clean, hot water. It just takes a very long time. CONS: * Mine broke after 4 months. The turbine which spins the brushes quit working. Fortunately, there is a two year warranty and Hoover said it would be covered (in repair as I type this). I talked to the repair shop and they told me to expect to see them regularly because these are built cheaply and the turbines break over and over. IN SUMMARY: If you want a cheap, light carpet cleaner that if you are willing to put in the effort, will clean your carpet well, this seems like a good choice. If you are looking for it to replace professional carpet cleaning, then it will almost certainly pay for itself if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Works well on stains. Strikes a good balance between weight and reservoir capacity. Build quality is suspect, but the warranty is sufficiently long that most people should be able to make it pay for itself many times over vs. paying a professional - as long as you dont mind hauling it to the nearest repair shop every so often. You might do well to go to Hoovers web site and look up the nearest repair shop before you buy this.

> 24 hourI’m coming back 6years after buying this to share my love and appreciation for it!! Best investment ever! 6.5years later it’s still transforming and reviving the WHITE upholstered Restoration Hardware chairs I stupidly bought before having **3 children**… The picture doesn’t do it justice. Without this device I would have had to spend hundreds on new chairs, but an hour with this tool every 6 months keeps them looking presentable. 9 times out of 10 I just used the attached handheld hose (vs the full on carpet cleaner) but it’s nice to have both and is not too heavy/cumbersome to move around the house.

> 24 hourI should have looked into it more. My previous cleaner had an option for heat. This one does not. But runs fine. Gets the job done.
