Imus Seal Butyl Joist Tape for Flashing Deck Joists and Beams (1-5/8” x 50’ Non-Skid)

Used this to cover the 2x8 beams under a deck I was building. Very nicely thick and super sticky! Works perfectly to protect the wood. Highly recommend!

Used the tape on an existing outdoor deck that I was replacing the boards on . As long as the joists are dry the tape sticks well , if they are wet doesnt stick well . I installed a few weeks ago so no idea on longevity but it looks like it should last a long time .

Bought 6 rolls of this tape. Easy to apply, very sticky and stays put. It’s a close fit to a joist which is 1.5 inches so there’s not a lot of wiggle room. But does what it’s supposed to do. Much cheaper than the big name brand items and for what it does, you’ll never know the difference.

I used this on top of the joists while building my deck. This will keep out bugs and moisture to make your deck last longer.

I used black Ipe Clips to fasten down my deck, and this tape makes the clips effectively disappear. The adhesion is incredible - highly recommend.

Adheres well but pricey

Great product, half the price that I found at other places. I used it on my deck I just built. If it will protect and save joist rot for even 1-3 years its totally worth it. If youre going to spend thousands on a deck, its highly recommended to add just $50-100 for a protective product like this. Highly recommended.

I recently replaced a redwood deck with a Brazilian hard wood. I noticed joist decay was primarily due to moisture in the gaps between the deck boards. After replaced and repair the joists, I applied this product. I am confident this will extend the life of the joists and deck board. Easily applied and great adhesion.
