> 3 dayMy original intention for this was as a moisture barrier between my new exterior deck stairway stringers and the Trex deck boards I also used on my stairs, and I discovered another bonus in the process. On some of the other deck joists where I used a copper brown wood preservative on the cut surfaces, and where those surfaces directly contacted the underside of the Trex composite boards, the wood preservative leached up into the boards and significantly discolored them! Wherever I used this tape, that leaching and discoloration did not occur. Its a bit pricey, but not a bad idea to use on top of all joists and stringers!

Greater than one weekGreat product, half the price that I found at other places. I used it on my deck I just built. If it will protect and save joist rot for even 1-3 years its totally worth it. If youre going to spend thousands on a deck, its highly recommended to add just $50-100 for a protective product like this. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayTape stuck quite well and as easy to work with. I thought the length would be more than sufficient, but what with three stringers and all the other places I found to use it on, like railings, it was just enough.

Greater than one weekWe put this on some joist before a storm and was a little afraid of that the wind would rip it off. But nope. It stayed right where we stuck it. We we not able to get the Azek on till a week later and it looks good as new. Recommended product.

> 3 dayThis was very easy to use. It came very quickly. I used it under my Trex decking, on top of the wood frame joists

> 3 dayI’m no deck building master. I can only compare this to the Tr*x tape I bought for the doubled beams. To me this tape was better than the Tre* tape. It adhered good and was easy to work with. Just like all the other tapes don’t lay it on anything dirty. The sides of the rolls are sticky and will pick up any dirt it touched.

> 3 dayIve used a couple different products when building decks - THIS IS THE BEST FOR MY MONEY!! This adheres to the joists better than any product Ive used. I live in Utah - so we usually have a dry climate, but this summer has been the 2nd wettest on the record books, and the wood, tape, deck all look great. There isnt any white lettering on the tape, so you dont see little bits of white when you look down at your deck ... just the deck boards / composite boards and the blackness behind the decking

Greater than one weekOrdered 7 rolls of Imus to protect our deck frame, because the wider 3 1/8 wasnt available through Amazon we purchased a roll of Trex Protect Beam Butyl Tape 3 1/8 as well. As far as I can tell the two products are exactly the same, right down to the pattern of packaging - the cellophane tape used to secure the roll has the same taping pattern and cut marks. The Imus is less expensive also! As far as the actual material goes, its very confidence inspiring - heavy, durable and the adhesive is AMAZINGLY sticky. In fact if youre used to Grace Vycor, you are in for a surprise...we were not expecting just how aggressive the adhesive is. Excellent and well worth the cost, we spent about $200 on our deck.
