I bought a bag for my saltwater tank. It works great and definitely serves its purpose. It was a great purchase.

With the Red Tide threat in the Gulf Coast of Florida this is the perfect substitute for my salt water aquarium. I have never had a problem.

I used to go to the Jersey shore a lot. I would navigate my way gingerly across the sand, trying to pick out a spot on the beach where I could lay my towel without being surrounded by discarded junk. A few years ago, I was able to relax there for a only few minutes before some muscle-head kicked sand on my face and stole my girl. I applied for one of those correspondence martial arts courses, and the next year I went back and confronted that same muscle-head with my new-found skills. This time, my ex-girlfriend held me down while he pummeled me. I would never waste my money on one of those correspondence martial arts courses again. This sea salt lets me mix up some ocean water for my pets without having to risk seeing that muscle-head or my bully ex-girlfriend at the beach. For that, its priceless. However, be warned: seagulls and beach pollution not included.

    Greater than one week

I used it to clean my piercings. I had a bump on my nose. I mixed the salt with water (paste texture) and applied it to my piercings overnight. After using it for 2 days my nose bump completely disappeared. Anyone who has a nose piercing knows those pesky bumps take months to go away. Definitely would recommend this for anyone who has piercings.

I have used so many salts over the years I have forgotten some of the ones that Ive used. I used stuff that ran me $120 for a Tall 5 gallon bucket (probably like 7.5 gallons) that was lab certified to be this or that. I started to realize that I kept buying different salt every time it was time to buy salt, one thing I have learned is that consistency does pay off. I dont know if this is the best salt in the world, but Im sticking with it. It is economical, it dissolves easily, my water parameters test good with it. I run a mixed reef with it and corals are doing their thing, fish are swimming, and everyone seems happy.

Some reef tank owners may disagree with my conclusion but after many years of owning reef tanks and FOWLRs - and having tried most of the products available - I sincerely believe this salt is the best overall value for the average salt water aquarium enthusiast. For FOWLR tanks there isnt a better salt available. For reef tanks there are better products available (Red Sea Coral Pro most notably) but the cost of those products is not reflected in the quality. Whatever salt you buy you still need to supplement - calcium, buffers, trace elements, etc., etc. - and yes you need to supplement a little more with this salt but when you total up the overall costs this salt proves to be the best value by far. I have never had an issue with this salt - mixes quick (15 minutes using a powerhead) and clear.

Hi, did extensive research before deciding on Instant Ocean. It has all the correct amounts of minerals and trace elements. Best price by far. My fish have lived long and happy with this product. Highly recommend it. Please stay safe and healthy

so the great thing about this, is I use to buy the 5 gallon salt buckets. MAN one drop of water in there and no you are chiseling your way through the chunks of hard salt now. This box actually has individual bags, so if one bag got wet, it will only affect that bag, the rest of the salt is safe. it happens sometimes when i use my scooper to put the salt into the RO water to make my salt water and a splash will hit the handle or the 5 gallon bucket and then its all over.. I like it better this way for me.
