Instant Ocean Sea Salt (10 gal)

Ive been a saltwater hobbyist (45 gallon) for almost 10 years now and since the very beginning have been using this brand of salt with no problems at all. The pricing is always competitive compared to other name brands but the salt to me is always the same no matter which brand you go with. To mix this salt I use R/O water in a glass jar, pour in the salt and then fill with water. I shake it for a few seconds and let it sit till the salt dissolves. When the salt dissolves I start pouring slowly into the tank and measuring the salt amount with my meter. Other brand name salts that compare to this one are smaller grained and dissolve faster but for me, I have no issue waiting and Ive noticed that on occasion over the years passed that if I do get impatient and pour some undissolved salt into the tank it doesnt seem to harm the fish or coral- some salts are not recommended to pour directly into the tank without dissolving first like I mention above in a glass jar with R/O water. Overall I favor this brand and have used it for so many years that switching now seems pointless. Id recommend to others as Ive had no problems with this product over the years.

Its salt for my marine tank. The fish seem happy with it. They havent complained that its too salty (thats what a Hydrometer is for). Beats the hell out of using a salt shaker from my wifes curio cabinet and shaking it over a 350 gallon tank. Id need several thousand shakers for that. Ill update this review once I hear back from my fish whether they like this brand or perhaps want me to switch brands. Oh, and there have been no deaths in the fish family after using it so I guess its working.

10/10 I use it for my hermits salt water I just put a pinch in there when I refill it and it’s good to go!!! My hermit uses the water and has for a couple months and is perfectly fine so much cheaper than crab solution!!!

Just add to water and BAM you have saltwater

Hi, did extensive research before deciding on Instant Ocean. It has all the correct amounts of minerals and trace elements. Best price by far. My fish have lived long and happy with this product. Highly recommend it. Please stay safe and healthy

Good price and accurate readings of specific gravity. Trace elements included, such as calcium.

Based on my mixing it seemed to come up short of 50 gallons. Specific gravity is lower than should be. Now I get the fun chore of trying raise it little by little by little as not to waste what I made then start playing the little by little of RO. May have been me. Who knows?

Great product, used it for 8 years with no problems

I have been a reef keeper for over twenty years. I have tried virtually every salt, and this is still probably the most cost effective and consistent salt options around. It will leave residue in a mixing station, but that never seems to impact fish or corals. It just means if you use a mixing station you will probably have to clean it out every so often.

Ive been using Instant Ocean for over Thirty years. I started using it when I started my Hobby, when I became a research scientist and throughout the Thirty five years I ran an Aquarium business. I cannot recommend this salt enough.. Reef Tank, Invert Tank or a Simple Table top tank. Ive installed aquariums up to Ten Thousand Gallons, and as small as 1 gallon. They were all filled with Instant Ocean.. Now that I am almost retired?.. Getting it delived to your door for this price?... Priceless!
