> 3 dayIts not just for my fish tank. Its NOT marketed as food grade. Instant Ocean Sea Salt MSDS reads nearly identical to Morton Sea Salt MSDS. Instant Ocean taste better and cost less. Cons; no anti-clumping chemicals (also a Pro - no chemicals) so it hardens on wet days - I put dry rice in my shaker.

> 3 dayExcellent in every way. Negatives: pricey. Instructions are not very good. Experienced aquarists, however, will have no problems using it. Despite all that, it remains one of the best salts of its kind.

> 3 dayI opened my box, and their is an inch hole in the bag and the salt has drawn in moisture. I’m sure I can still use the salt because it dissolves in the water anyways. But when I opened the box, salt spilt on my carpet. I have ordered several bags of salt before and haven’t had any problems. Not sure if the bag got ripped open from handling or it was sent like this to me. Also noticed the heater I ordered was opened. I do have the heater plugged in and it is operating properly.

> 3 dayDissolves easily but do not use chlorinated water directly from tap. Allow chlorine to dissipate over night before adding salt.

> 3 dayWith the Red Tide threat in the Gulf Coast of Florida this is the perfect substitute for my salt water aquarium. I have never had a problem.

> 3 dayI specifically bought this to use for hatching baby brine shrimps and my bbs have been hatching very well and consistently. I’m sure half of it has to do with the bbs eggs I’m using also, but the hatch rate has been 10x better than my past experience when I was using freshwater aquarium salt. This almost will last me an extremely long time!

> 3 dayYou cant beat the price if youve got a sizable aquarium and do water changes regularly. This is the second case we have purchased for water changes and lately I have been the one maintaining our new 150 tank. Clean 5 gallon buckets, RO/DI that has had a chance to degas over a couple days and 2 level cups puts us right around a specific gravity of 1.021 fairly consistently. However with the new bags I did notice after agitation via a power head two out of five buckets (total of 10 scoops) had a piece or two or black debris. Did not investigate further but know it was not from the power head as it was freshly cleaned before mixing. I suggest sifting as you pour into your salt storage container to prevent any debris contamination from getting in your tank and possibly damaging the impeller on the return pump (if running a sump).
