> 3 dayVALUE: I used Dynamat Xtreme (~67mil thickness) on my outer door skins on my 2012 Mustang, but I wanted to try something less expensive for the roof. While Dynamat Xtreme costs about $4.44 per square foot, a 50 square foot box of 50Mil Kilmat is $1/SF. I feel like Kilmat gives you about 60-70% of the effectiveness of Dynamat, but for 23% of the price. SMELL: The material had a pretty noticeable odor after just opening the box. I installed this on sunny 95°F day, which created a very strong smell with the doors and windows closed. The smell was gone after airing out the car for about 3 hot days. It didnt seem to linger in my cloth seats either. INSTALLATION: I really enjoyed working with Kilmat. The embossed rectangles make it very easy to cut out specific shapes without measuring. It also makes it very easy to see where you need to use your roller tool to press down the material. Its thin enough to bend into tight spaces and the foil stays well attached to the butyl. WORD OF CAUTION: Whatever product you go with, make sure to avoid asphalt containing products. They give off a horrible smell and they have potential health risks. As far as I can tell, Kilmat *does not* contain asphalt. UNDERSTANDING DEADENING SHEETS: - Layering butyl sheets isnt effective. 2 sheets of 50mil thickness is much worse than a single sheet of 100mil. - Kilmat and similar products mainly dampen the vibrations of whatever its applied to. It doesnt do a great job of blocking sound waves or as thermal insulation. Its best applied to large, thin sheet metal thats prone to vibration.

> 3 dayDecided to go with 50 mil Kilmat roll after doing extensive research and cost comparisons with other well known brands. It was a no brainer on paper. Pros: - Super easy to work with and extremely pliable. Can easily be cut with household scissors. - Does not have super sharp foil edges and can be applied with bare hands - Very well packaged and comes in 50 pre-cut rectangle sheets, which is much easier to manage than a giant roll - ZERO SCENT/VAPORS - Decent adhesiveness when applied to a clean surface prepped with isopropyl alcohol Cons: - Stuff is a bit thin. However, you get plenty of product so I applied double layers to all panels for essentially 100 mil thickness. I noticed a rather noticeable difference in tone when I knocked on the panels with a single layer vs. double layer Probably worth your efforts to double up the first time. - the square pattern application guides on the foil were a little bit difficult to press down fully with a regular roller. So I went over them as best I could with a roller, then used the back of the handle of a large flathead screwdriver which really flattened them out and gave me peace of mind Did 2 layers on both the inner and outer skin of the front doors of my coupe and still have over half of the product leftover. Stuff is really good and made a noticeable difference in my vehicle with just the doors done. Have not even touched the trunk yet. Rattles were cut down substantially and I can hear much more defined and fuller bass notes from my mids and subs. The front stage just feels a lot tighter and envelops the cabin. Tip: you do NOT need 100 percent application with these sound deadning tiles. 60-65% coverage on a panel is all you need. More than that and you are just wasting product and adding unnecessary weight. Would definitely purchase again.

> 3 dayI bought the 50 square foot package and it came in just the right sizes that made it and easy job to piece them together and get great coverage. This is the floor of a 1976 F150. These sheet metal floors are usually quite tinny and transmit road noise. With only a couple of sheets installed I could already tell it was working and it looks great too! I bought a package of three sizes of rollers to facilitate the install.

> 3 dayGood quality, pricing is great. Will use on my classic truck interior to help out with the tin can sound when closing the doors.

> 3 dayIve bought this twice now for two separate restore jobs. Its pretty easy to apply to the metal. Its pretty easy to position where you want it and then cut out the areas for the seat bolts and seat belt bolts. If you prewire the stereo wires to the back, this stuff will also cover up those wires pretty well. buying the roller was a waste of money. I stopped using it and just used my hand to press this stuff down since the floor of the truck isnt smooth and the back is that shiny slick foil stuff. I also noticed that when I had small areas of over lap, like when I was setting in an inside corner with two pieces, if you press a little harder you can hardly tell its double thick-just in case youre wondering if it could make the carpet bulge a bit, it doesnt.

Greater than one weekThis product was very easy to work with. This is my third vehicle Ive installed sound dampening on. Ive used dynamat which works fine, but why pay more for essentially the same thing? This product comes in thin sheets. not a roll and can be cut with scissors. I preferred using a box cutter. Adhesion was great without Gavin to use a heat gun. I did use a roller though. This was installed on 2020 Cadillac xt5 on all four doors and the rear lift gate.

> 3 dayVery impressed with the performance of this mat, especially for the price. I installed it on the floor and rear of the cab on a 2006 F350 6.0 Powerstroke. I still havent finished the job but Ive heard enough to rate the product. I plan on doing the doors and ceiling tomorrow. I started the truck just now. This is without the factory carpet and pad installed. Without the boot on the floor shifter. Without the seat installed. The cab noise has been significantly reduced. Night and day difference. This is the most affordable mat I could find and absolutely will be buying more for two other vehicle projects I have.
