> 24 hourI purchased this monitor to get more screen real estate for working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its great to be able to have a Zoom or Teams meeting going, have a document or browser window open, and to be able to keep an eye on my email without having to constantly minimize or move windows around. The image quality is excellent - very sharp and clear with natural looking color. Contrast is also very good, although black levels are not as good as on a higher end modern television or mobile device with an OLED panel. But, you really only notice at night in a darker room. The matte screen also lets me have my home office setup in front of a set of windows without fighting glare. Onscreen text looks great, and the night mode preset that lowers brightness levels and shifts whites to a warmer hue is also nice when working late. Video looks very good, although I havent been able to get Netflix and Amazon to stream to the monitor in 4K. Im using the latest and greatest version of usb-c to connect to a late-model HP laptop. If anyone has troubleshooting tips, let me know. But, non-protected 4k content from sites like YouTube looks great. This monitor doesnt have a high refresh rate by 2020 standards, though, so gamers and people watching live sports might be happier looking elsewhere. The 2-way adjustability of this monitor makes it really comfortable to use for long workdays. The stand is also surprisingly solid and more premium than it looks in the photos. I assumed it would be plastic, but its metal. So, I have no worries about accidentally tipping the monitor off my desk when adjusting the screen. It is also ingeniously simple to assemble without tools or messing with a bunch of little screws. Overall, this is an almost ideal monitor for working from home, and LG seems to have prioritized productivity over entertainment in its design choices, which is great for me. It has a modern, minimalist design compared to a lot of other options with overwrought styling intended to appeal to gamers, which is nice since my office is also our family room. And, IMHO, matte screens are MUCH more pleasant for reading and writing than glossy models. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourFirst, when connected to my MacBook Pro 16, this is an awesome monitor. Setup was easy, and it gracefully handles being plugged in, and unplugged. The speakers on the back are even useful. Now for the bad. Theres no easy way to adjust the sound when the app doesnt present a volume slider. When using with Linux, it sort of works, but there are no settings that can place the monitor in some kind of comparability mode, so I get half a screen what is basically unusable. This means that in my dual setup, If I want to do development on Linux, I need to use another monitor.

> 24 hourPer se, its a good monitor. Decent picture quality, very high resolution, sharp image (its 4K after all), easy to mount and set up. Huge panel with a lot of real estate which is always welcome. If you dont compare it with anything else, you will be quite happy with the monitor. BUT: I was expecting it to replicate the LG ultrafine sold on Apples website for me. I already have one of those monitors in my office and was hoping to have the same experience at my home office too. Same manufacturer, apparently same technology, similar specs, good to go, right? But its where the disappointment began. The image quality, the sharpness, the brightness, and the color delivery come nowhere near like that. Even the build quality is inferior: The plastic frame, cables, stand, everything feels less premium. I have no idea if theres any fundamental technological difference between the two panels, or its mostly a matter of firmware/software, but Id go for that Apple-overpriced ultrafine LG panel any day. MACBOOK PRO USERS BEWARE: This monitor has problems with MacOSs HDR. Right off the bat, its activated, shocking you by a pinkish downright garbage image quality once you turn on the monitor and connect it to your Mac. Either Apple or LGs fault, youll need to disable it to get a decent image profile. Thats all I came across through my hours of googling to fix it. (What? I didnt buy a half-a-grand HDR monitor only to disable it!!) VERDICT: Quite disappointed since I expected more based on reviews etc. Still debating between returning it - as much as I hate returning stuff due to the environmental impacts etc - and going for an LG ultrafine from Apple, or keeping it and trying to be happy with it. UPDATE (1 month later): Decided to keep it and give it time so it has a chance of growing on me. Im now quite used to the image quality. No big complaints anymore. The HDR problem with MacBook is still there, even after MacOS 11.4 update. No big deal though as long as you keep it off.

> 24 hourI purchased a second monitor, as I moved the first to my new iMac. After several months, I am very please with the first monitor. I will post the same review below for the second monitor, as it now is attached to my MacBook Pro. This monitor is great for the price. I easily assembled the stand, plugged in the USB-C cable, and it was up and running on my 2016 MacBook Pro. The picture was fine out of the box, though way too bright for my dark studio. The colors are a little off with the auto-setting compared to the MacBook, so I will need to adjust them a bit. If anything the screen is a little too large, but I wanted the real estate to post-process photos. This was a very good purchase.

> 24 hourI use macbook pro and this display is always connected to MacBook pro. In the first couple of months, the monitor worked fine with maintained speed. However, eventually it started acting pretty sluggish while working on common tasks like safari surfing, excel edits. I wouldnt recommend this monitor for heavy duty work where you are connecting with external keyboard, mouse and working on multiple software at a time. I really wished if the refund period was extended to larger period and not limited to just 30 days.

> 24 hourI use this monitor to edit in Lightroom and Final Cut and it is really good especially because I can connect my MacBook to it via thunderbolt. The only time I see issues is when im gaming! The the monitor sometimes glitches and its not very good with dark settings but other than that the colors are perfect if youre just editing or making content.

> 24 hourI purchased this after returning the Samsung M80B as it gave me a headache. This thing had perfect color (for my needs at least) out of the box. Pros: Easy to set up Tons of connections options Stand has the perfect tension for going up and down Picture looks great even if the blacks cannot get as dark as a VA panel Very easy on the eyes Cons: I dont like the control button placement on the bottom. I have a controller that I have to move every time I need to get to it Contrast is not quite as rich as the Samsung VA panel I returned Not a native resolution to my Mac Studio although I dont have the wallet for the 5k version
