I replaced an obsolete Netgear Gigabit Switch (G5605) with this Linksys Switch. Route: 1 Old Switch then another Old Switch: --- ping statistics --- 25 packets transmitted, 25 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.571/5.388/21.346/5.260 ms Route: 2 Old Switch then this New Switch: --- ping statistics --- 25 packets transmitted, 25 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.540/3.508/13.707/3.109 ms So the average delay going through two switches (Reduced from 5.388 to 3.508 ms) So per old switch approximately 5.388/2 = 2.694 ms One of this new switch = 3.508 - 2.694 = 0.814 ms So it looks like the latency of the switch round trip dropped to 0.814 as oppose to 2.694 with the old switch. There will be other interface delays on both ends which mean that the actual latency is lower but we can definitely say it is faster.

Speed test shows it lives up to its promise. Has been working flawlessly since I installed it on our home network. Very happy so far.

I was searching for a router that was wired only. When I found this one I was pleasantly surprise. Because it was a gigabyte router at its listed price. Once I got passed the fact that you must sacrifice your 1st or 5th internet port as your coming in network signal. The setup was easy; zero complications. So far I have only two devices connected via ethernet cable. And I havent had much of a drops in my gigabyte speed. Considering the cable modem is actually 36 ft away. Its why Im using a 50 ft Cat6 ethernet cable to trail it through walls and corners. So due to the long cable used to connect to the living room modem. The speed lost is expected since theres arent any cable lines in any of the bedrooms. Im content with the data speed Im currently getting. For now at least, until I figure another method to move the cable modem.

Received it in 2 days, plug and play device, up and running in 5 minutes. I already owned one of these for almost 2 years, need to connect more than three ports from AirPort Extreme so went to trusted desktop switch, advantage is metal construction that won’t tilt the switch due to weight of cables, heat dissipation, light in the front will tell the activity. It is plug and play so no administration needed. If you need desktop switch this is the one to get over plastic ones.

I got one of these about 1.5 years ago and it was great. All of the cords were on one side so I had it in my stack of components and I could still see all the lights. It was nice and convenient. Unfortunately I lost it. So I bought a new one about a week ago. They have since changed it. At some point, they updated the image on this page but you can still see the original product in the description. The product is still the same. a gigabit switch. But now it is like EVERY other switch out there, including the Linksys business switch that is $10 cheaper. It has the cables and lights on one side and the power on the other. As a result, it just got stuffed behind the AV system and hopefully I will never have to see it.

Gets the job done. Needed a splitter to network my four computers in my loft area. Had I not been so hasty to purchase I probably would have gotten the comparable model TP-Link for half the price, but Linksys products have always been good to me, and Im sure it will be in use for years to come. Setup was obviously quite easy: plug in the power adaptor and plug in ethernet cables. It doesnt get much simpler than that. Tested and is running at full gigabit speeds and it is nice to have all my machines in the room hard-lined and networked to each other for fast file transfers. Would I buy again? probably not, Id get the TP-Link for $15 since just looking for a simple 5-port switch, but I dont regret the purchase and wont be returning for the $15 I could save... next time though, will opt for the cheaper option unless its part of my critical network infrastructure.

I am using this switch to link multiple computers to a single point-of-use Ethernet drop. This switch has been able to keep up with multiple computers running over 400MB/s speeds, sometimes up to 500MB/s - throttled by the provider, not my equipment. This was well worth the purchase price.
