This was bought to add additional ports for my Nest Wifi. Overall, youll gain an additional 7 gigabit ethernet ports as one of them is used by the router to connect to the switch. The switch has an on/off switch so you can turn the whole unit off if needed. Thus far it works as intended

Very nice ethernet switch. Just plug it in and youre good to go. I use this in my media closet to connect a DirecTV DVR, a TiVo DVR, an Amcrest NVR for security, AppleTV, FireTV, and a Yamaha home theater receiver to the internet.

It only took a minute to plug in all of my computers and a new Infrant terabyte network-attached storage system. The switch works great and file transfer time is much quicker than when I had everything plugged into a 10Mbit router/switch. No reading of the manual.

My SO hasnt complained or sent it back so im assuming its good. He builds Gaming Computers professionally so he is a pretty good judge.
