It was easy for me (74 yr old female). Works great...smoothe. Mine came with a new belt which I highly recommend putting on with the new beater bar. But be sure to align the belt properly since it will possibly want to move to the side. Mine is a 9300 series, which is from the 80s or 90s. Was my moms. Still a solid vacuum .

Simply said, this product restored my Oreck XL to working fine again. Im sure many problems can exist and this product is not to address all of them. For my vacuum, the bearings of the roller built up a resistance to spinning freely (eg. hair, other fine debris). Therefore, not even new belts would help the issue, however this more complete kit, including a new roller and the bearing mechanisms located on each end of it completely addressed my vacuums problem; and at a reasonable price too.

Removed the 5 screws at base, and replaced old, worn brush with brand new brush and belt, fit perfectly as original.. Now work just like new! We have 2 Oreck XL upgrights, so i replaced brush and belt on both of them today.
