Easy to install and simply works great. Can have all 12v lights in my travel trailer on and they never run down when the unit is on - which was not the case with the original unit i had. This Powermax is really a great repalcement unit

You loosen 3 screws on the old one and unplug it. Put the wires back just like you took them out and plug it in. DONE 10 mins. I was a bit surprised that the exact brand and part number that I replaced 2+ years ago had already died. Im giving the same brand another chance. Its says RV so open your wallet.

I ordered this converter to replace the giant OEM converter that was sucking our house batteries dry in our 1986 Foretravel Grand Villa Barn Find restoration project. The install was straightforward and simple. I have watched the converter for about a week now and it is keeping the batteries very stable and functional. I have attached a picture to show the compartment that will be an Auxiliary electronics bay. Eventually this will mounted on an aluminum slide out tray for servicing or additional wiring. Although the old converter was a 75 Amp converter, I seriously doubt that the old converter would push the 75 amps, so in this instance, I opted for the 55 Amp model. Under full load, the Powermax is more that adequate. Also the fan noise is about 80 decibels less that the original. Its fan is temperature controlled and is not much more than a whisper when on. the old converter sounded like a box fan from the minute it went on shore power and ran constantly. My thought is: If you are looking to replace your old battery burning converter, look no farther. The Powermax converters are dependable, quiet and will do the job you need quite admirably.

Very easy to install. The item has worked perfectly as described. The only downside is the fan. It is very noisy. We have our power supply underneath in our storage compartment, but we are able to hear the fan in the kitchen. Wished I would of known that before the purchase. It gets annoying especially when your trying to sleep.

I watched many RV YouTube videos to research for a replacement for the converter for my RV after the factory one quit. I think this converter will maximize may deep cycle battery life because of the 3 stage charge rate.

Needed it for our travel trailer, as soon as it was installed everything worked the way there supposed to.

Installed the converter in June of 2021, stopped working in September 2022. Luckily I was on a local camping trip where I could return home and pick up a battery charger and return to the campground and charge my batteries up enough to get the landing gear retracted. When I got home I did some troubleshooting and tried to find warranty information on Amazon and couldn’t find any so the top of the converter came off and I discovered a blown fuse on the circuit board that was soldered in. Bypassing the fuse with some alligator clips resulted in a blown capacitor. So it buying a new converter for me. Not happy with this one only lasting 15 months. Lucky it happened to me on a local trip and not my wife on one of her boon docking horse camp outs. When it worked it was great but reliability is very poor.

I absolutely love this power converter. Easily powers my 1100 watt amp and pioneer head unit. The fan is hecca silent and only kicks on when needed. I completely recommend this product.
