Powermax 110 Volt to 12 Volt DC Power Supply Converter Charger for Rv Pm3-55 (55 Amp)

> 3 dayBefore purchasing I read reviews, and some said this unit would not output the rated current. I have seen this 55amp unit output 45amps when my two group 31 batteries were at 12.5V with an additional 12V load of 16 amps. Also it switches between charging cycles as you would expect. But FYI, I have a Honda EU1000i generator and it cannot start this charger if the battery voltage is below 13.4V. So I needed to use a 10 amp charger, bring the batteries up to 13.4, and then switch over to this charger. I called the manufacture to ask if there was any way to limit the maximum current. And they answered the phone! There is no way to adjust it. You can adjust the voltage levels but this would not be enough or the correct way to fix this. They told me for my Honda eu1000i I would need to go to the 35 amp model. The fan is noisy and only runs at one high speed.

> 3 dayEasy to install, the unit is very quiet, even with the fan running. Power is very very clean, my new 12v fridge runs great on it without the LED lights flickering like the other converter did.

> 3 dayEasy to install and simply works great. Can have all 12v lights in my travel trailer on and they never run down when the unit is on - which was not the case with the original unit i had. This Powermax is really a great repalcement unit

> 3 dayOK gang, everything went smoothly until I went to shove the new converter in place of the original WFCO. The new Powermax didnt fit!! Specifically, the mounting tabs on either side of the new Powermax converter prevented the new unit from fitting in the WFCO housing.......so, out came the saber saw with metal blade and off came the mounting tabs. It was a tight fit but all is good now. Dont forget to calibrate the Powermax voltage per the manual and so far on startup this 3-stage converter works as advertised. By-the-way, I live full time in a 2018 Coleman 26 Lantern pull trailer and I plan to do more boondocking in the future so Ill be relying on the trailer batteries more often including an 81-watt solar panel and a Honda eu2000i generator. Cheers All!

> 3 dayI used this unit to replace an 80 AMP Intellicharger in a 40 5th wheel travel trailer/toy hauler that is in year round use. The unit replaced had been severely damaged by a mysterious power surge on the 120v AC input along with several other appliances in the trailer. It is working perfectly and having no trouble doing what its supposed to do. If the Trailer were not on nearly continuous AC shore power I might have gone with a higher output PS/charger but this one does just fine at less than half the cost of the unit it replaced. I reserved one star in my rating because who knows how long it will last.

> 3 daySuper cool!!! Easy to hook up, great quality and charging my Lance cab over battery like a champ at 14.6 Volts. The Parallax power unit I had running my Rig burned out for the forth time since 1997 mind you, but I’m not spending the time or money for one of those again. So I bought this unit and relocated it to under my sink for better air flow and easy to replace if this unit ever goes out. Have size 8 AGW wire on hand because that what this unit requires and what size wire that should be used.

> 3 dayPriced right. Good quality unit. I removed the World Products power supply and easily slid this in its place making no mods . Received it the day before leaving on my vacation. Charges my agm batteries well. Fan comes on as needed for cooling and does not run excessively, or as noisy like the World unit. There is a green led light next to the fuse that is handy for quickly check that it is functioning. I did not want to cut the ac plug off to wire it in so I used the end of an extension cord for the connection. this way I did not cut into the products original wiring. I am very happy with the performance of this converter/charger.

> 3 dayEasy to install. Solved my dimming issues with the 12 volt system and undercharging of the battery. Was a replacement to the OEM WFCO unit that didn’t last a full year of usage.
