> 24 hourAfter I got everything connected and running, it looked like everything was working well and then as set up was just starting I got an error message saying, “unknown error”. I don’t know if I should return this product or take the time to reconnect everything again. I’m very disappointed because I bought it to copy one very important VHS tape I don’t want to lose.

> 24 hourI tried cheaper solutions but nothing worked as easily as this kit. After using a different random free software with this other adapter and some other brands converter and failing to get it all working properly, I bought the Roxio bundle and couldnt be more satisfied. So easy to use and worked right from the start. Converting all our old VHS-C tapes to digital for my wife for Mothers Day this year. There will be tears. Tech support was five stars because although I didnt use the support, the documentation that came with the kit was more than sufficient.

> 24 hourProduct is as expected, it did take an update when I plugged it in and then it started working. Before that it was not wanting to work. Love the fact that I can capture the movies now and use them in iMovie!

> 24 hourWhen I had a 13” MacBook Pro with Intel Core-Duo processor my Roxio Easy VHS-DVD worked fine. Recently I tried to convert some home videos with my new 14”MacBook Pro with M1 Pro processor running OS 13 (Ventura). The capture program and the My DVD app loaded but the VHS to DVD application asked me to plug the hardware dongle into a USB 2 or higher USB port. My laptop only has USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports. I tried using a USB-A to USB-C adapter, but the program wouldn’t start. I tried the USB port on my OWC Thunderbolt dock and another USB-A hub but still no response from from the application except the dialog box saying “Plug in to USB”. I spent actual days chatting with multiple Roxio support techs and not getting any help other than the techs saying they would have to refer me a more senior technician. Some of these senior techs emailed me saying they were working on a fix. I tried to reply to these emails with a simple question; “Does the latest version of Easy VHS to DVD work on Apple M1 computers ?“ This question relates to Roxio’s web page stating in the specs for ‘Easy VHS to DVD for Mac’ that it worked with Intel and Apple M1 Macs and OS Ventura. I was greeted by an auto response stating that the mailbox does not support replies. Given that Roxio support was hopeless, I decided to put my faith in the truthfulness of the stated specs on Roxio’s product web page with an green “Buy” button that takes you directly to Amazon where I purchased it. When the converter arrived 2 days later it looked suspiciously like the version I already owned that worked on my Intel Mac. After uninstalling the previous Roxio software and installing the new version just received, I’d give it a try. Well, the same problem occurred; the applications would load, but they would not recognize any of my USB ports. So, I gave up and returned the product to Amazon for a refund. I am now doing research to find out what analog-digital converters actually work with Macs running on Apple silicon. I don’t have answer yet. However, I would not recommend that you purchase the Roxio product for use with a Mac with Apple Silicon unless you want to waste lots of time dealing with Roxio’s dysfunctional customer support.

> 24 hourI bought the product to convert my wedding VHS tapes from 21 years ago. I am running Mac OS 10.5.8 on a 2008 model Mac Pro. It worked well converting my first tape to a digital file. No issue of drop outs as reported on some posts. I have yet to burn the DVD, but this should work as well. I will repost at a leter date if this is not the case. I gave it 4 stars because there are some other similar hardware products (? igrabber)through Meritline that cost half the price that may work as well, but I am less sure about the accompanying software. I went with the Roxio product because not spending hours tracking down acompanying software is not worth the $25 in cost savings. Purchase through Amazon was a charm as usual.

> 24 hourNot sure what I AM DOING WITH THIS PRODUCT. Trying to save old VHS on to DVD, but its been more of a headache than not. I think I need another type of VHS player. I wish that was in the description. Oh well, someone I know must have a more current VHS player, Ill just have to ask around. I gave it 3 stars because I really dont know if it works, but I am giving it the benefit of the doubt.

> 24 hourThis product (Mac version) is waaay out of date. It is a 32-bit app so will NOT run under the new Mac OS -Catalina and Roxio is now run/supported by Corel so the support is slow to respond and pretty bad. That said, its hard to fault the company for a product that is at the end of its life -its unclear how many folks need to digitize old VHS in the bad resolution and bad color that VHS tapes are at. Its also very slow and hangs periodically. Probably the things that irks me is that they still are charging $50 - $95 for this. Good news is that it works as advertised, bad news is that its very expensive for outdated technology.
