SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, V-NAND Technology, Storage and Memory Expansion for Gaming, Graphics w/ Heat Control, Max Speed, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM

I have a Dell Vostro 5590 laptop and ran into trouble when trying to clone its drive to the new Samsung SSD. For Samsung cloning utility to work, you MUST ensure in the BIOS that the SATA setting uses AHCI and not RAID. Trouble is, when you change that setting, you usually are required to re-install the OS which kind of defeats the purpose of cloning. I cant post links in this review, but do a search for Switch RAID to AHCI without reinstalling Windows 10 and you will find command line instructions on how to do it. Another wise suggestion is to disable BitLocker if you have it enabled. Otherwise youll need the BitLocker key, which even if you have it, is a 30 digit number to type in every time you boot into Safe mode. It takes a while to Disable BitLocker, be prepared. Once those two items were taken care of, the cloning to the new Samsung SSD went smoothly. It even cloned my Ubuntu WSL2 partition successfully. Regarding the Ubuntu partition--if you search you can find instructions on how to export your distro for later import. I exported to another drive just to be safe but because the cloning went fine I didnt need this backup.

I installed this on my Dell XPS 15, and it worked without any problems. The speed is good, so I have no complaints.

Obviously the brand speaks for itself. The speeds measure at over 3600 MB/s, which is awesome, cause it advertises 3500 MB/s. Its only a LITTLE more expensive than the other brands available. Spend the extra $20. Its worth it.
