I am not a computer tech guy but this was an easy upgrade. My 6 year old Dell laptop was super slow and now it is super fast. The Samsung data migration software made transferring the old hard-drive via USB easy. The transfer took 1.5 hours and the SSD fit into the laptop perfectly with out an adapter. I will buy another one for my tower soon, I think this will need the adapter to fit in the Hard-drive bay.

The item came quickly and packaged well. The installation was easy without any issues. Disk access speed was much better than what I had before. It has been over a month and it is performing as expected without any issues.

Its not the best SSD on the market, but it is one of the best entry ones. HHDs are just not worth it anymore. The amount of bottle neck they bring to a system is just not worth it.

The Samsung EVO 860 SSD is easy to install and fits perfectly inside the HP Omen Laptops. I decided to get one due to the issues I was having with the HDD in certain games. Occasional stutters are one thing, but crashes stink and now that is gone for the most part. I went with the EVO 860 cause it has a really good reputation and I just like Samsung parts in general.

Samsung is the way to go. This product is a bit pricey but depending on who you are the $30 premium is worth it

I just installed this in my mid-2012 MacBook Pro over the weekend. We use the 850 version in all our desktops at work for the last 3 years and they have been solid. The only drawback is the lack of software for Mac. No Migration or Magician available and updates to firmware seem to be a process as well. That would make this a 5-star review. I cloned my Apple stock HDD using Carbon Copy Cloner (it actually works very well and UI is straightforward to the new 860 EVO, installed and it worked as expected. I have not enabled Macs OE TRIM setting as I have read mixed reviews on how nicely it plays with 3rd party drives. I wish Samsung would make a Mac version of Magician as it is helpful to know the health and performance of the drive. As for functionality itself, it is very noticeably quicker than the HDD and everything loads incredibly fast. I would recommend this product without question to Windows users and with an asterisk for Mac users. Just do your homework so you know the features youll have access to.

If youre looking for a high capacity, low(ish) cost SSD that is reliable, this is a great way to go. I always recommend Samsung to my clients. I now have... 3 or 4 Samsung SSDs between my two main computers and they work fantastic.

Replaced 500gb HDD in MacMini (2012). SSD is a vast improvement on startup and general operating over oem drive. Quick and easy to format and load OS.
