Not good for doing large transfers. Overheated and shutdown quick. After 30GB into a transfer it overheated and cancelled transfer. Was in room temperature room sitting on hard surface.

This is my 2nd T7, to go along with my 2 T5 drives. These things are reasonably priced and small and fast.

It’s difficult to review a 2TB drive when the manufacturer puts a 500GB drive in the box. I do know that before I noticed the problem and was using the drive, it was both surprisingly slow and quickly grew uncomfortably warm. It’s going back, and I’m going with a different manufacturer.

I’m using this as a boot drive for an older 27” iMac. I’ve done a similar thing with the older T5 but this was actually cheaper. It does the job well.

I bought this SDD because I had an old 500GB HDD almost full and I wanted to move the information to a safe location. So, when it came home I just copied HDD into SDD. But to my surprise I got an error message telling me that the SDD didnt have enough space to copy all the files. (I wanna be clear) The HDD was not full, it still had something around 25GB of space. In short, this SDD is not really 500GB, it is actually 465GB.

I was pretty shocked when receiving this hard drive. So super small and yet a terabyte of space. I hooked it up to my iMac via USB-C and use it as a Time Machine back up drive. I was able to backup 350GB in less than 15 minutes. Works great. Super happy with this one. You cant go wrong with the Samsung. Great packaging and comes with 2 different cables depending on your needs.

I currently own a MacBook Pro, which has like 256GB of storage. I was using it along with an HDD, which got damaged suddenly. So I was in the market for an SSD this time, as last time when I bought SSDs werent prominent and widely available.

This drive was smaller and definitely thinner than I expected, that was great. Works fine, loads as expected, not super fast but fast enough for most uses. Feels like its well made. Arrived with a laptop size USB and a phone size US, basically all you need.

Purchased this external ssd on Black Friday, great deal and great product. It’s worked like a charm connected to a PS5.
