We have one very sweet little cat that seems to lose its weight in hair every month - its everywhere. Not to mention kitty litter and dried up bits of food that coat the floors in all of the rooms week upon week... Ive only ever had $60-80 vacuums and with all of the trouble they have caused with clogged filters, lack of power and loss of suction, I decided to invest in this Shark and I have to say, its a darn good vacuum. When Im using this thing, I believe I actually have a look on my face similar to the woman in the pictures - like were content to vacuum all day long and possibly for a living. It truly is a joy to use - very lightweight but still has some heft in the main motor unit so you can tell it is built well. And it is powerful - I havent kept up with the technological advances in home vacuums and havent done the tests with nuts, bolts, marbles or a bowling ball - but it does hurt when you get it stuck to your face - FYI. All of the attachments connect to the unit with a satisfying click and are effortlessly removed. The carpet sweeper unit helps propel itself forward on even the thicker carpets which is a treat because the older cheapo units would get stuck in some areas. Maneuverability and getting under low clearance objects is now done with total ease. The hardwood floor attachment with the terrycloth pad that wipes while moving it across the floor works well too. And though the dual lights on the carpet sweeper and the one on the main unit look really cool (like Audi supplied headlights for this thing), I was surprised to find that they actually light up the carpet/floor and work very well in spotting areas you may have missed. The smaller upholstery sweeper is my favorite attachment and after using it on two of my sofas, I was amazed (and then equally appalled) at how much dirt and hair was deposited into the bin. And the bin is small - like others reviewers stated, I had to empty it 3-4 times after doing the whole place on the first use. However, like a lot of them said, that was just the first time going through what I previously presumed to be my clean apartment. The next week yielded far less and I only had to empty twice (and thats because I leave the bin clean for the next use to gauge how dirty things get over the week). Its a cinch to empty and clean - unlike the last Hoover I owned...I dont want to talk about that. The other truly wonderful thing about this vacuum and my main reason for buying it is its small footprint. Its not designed to stand upright on its own but if you live in a 1 bedroom apartment with valuable limited closet space and a girlfriend/wife that wants all that limited space to herself for her stuff, you dont want a vacuum taking up space where your Taylormades clearly fit and absolutely belong. A plastic wall/door mount hook comes in the box and I now have it mounted on the wall close to the ceiling inside my precious tool closet where it fits perfectly and is totally out of the way of anything else stuffed in there, the bag of attachments hanging right next to it. The only slightly annoying part is cord management (and I say this coming from a vacuum that had a retractable cord so dont take it too seriously unless you currently have one with that option and have gotten used to the bliss of not having to wrap and then unwrap when you are told you missed an area that needs cleaning). There is a cord hook on the main unit and then a hook on the carpet sweeper and the floor sweeper. If you have the cord wrapped around the hooks on the unit and either of those attachments, you cannot remove that attachment from the extension pole without unwrapping the cord completely. Its a small hassle and easily remedied by just wrapping the cord around the main unit handle and dust bin instead of using the hooks. That way, you can interchange and store the way you want without fussing with the cord first. As you can tell, Im not getting technical on this review - I dont know much about vacuums because they arent my thing and it took some deep reasoning and soul searching for me to pull the trigger on a $250 (with tax) dirt sucking machine - I was simultaneously looking at any other FUN electronic item for the same amount before I clicked buy. But, all-in-all, Im happy with the choice and thanks to all the reviewers who helped me make it. If youre living with someone who has de facto control over all of the storage space in a 1 bedroom apartment with 4 small closets but only 1.5 you can call yours and everything of communal use has to go in your closet exclusively, this is the vacuum for you. If you have more space to work with and call your own, good for you - very happy for you. You will like the vacuum too.

My only complaint is the way you need to take the top off to have it set by itself. Little combursome.

My only complain is that I can’t stand it up without leaning it on something. It comes with a wall mount, but that’s not ideal. Still a great vacuum for the price, I use it almost everyday since we have multiple cats.

I love this for laminate and hardwood floors. Very good on rugs as it does eat the rug. Doesnt have a lot of suction for carpet or removing pet hair. I do love it though.

Update: Just wanted to mention that after using this vacuum for a while, weve now ordered a second one to give to one of our friends as a Christmas gift...we like it that much. Great little vacuum cleaner! Original review here: We have a large, two-story house and wanted a compact vacuum cleaner to keep on the bottom floors, more for touch-ups than anything else. So, when this product became available via the Amazon Vine program, I decided to give it a try. This vacuum cleaner really is an engineering marvel. It is very powerful, yet feels lightweight in the hand. We have ended up not just using it for the touch-up work I mentioned, but it is actually our main house vacuum now. It might be worth noting that we have a cat, so something with power is definitely a feature we need to get rid of the ever-shedding cat hair around our place. Here are some key things to note about it: It comes with quite a few attachments, including a powered carpet cleaning head, a mini motorized brush to pull pet hair out of difficult areas, a crevice tool, a hardwood floor attachment that includes a washable pad (we use it on our tile floors), a dusting brush, and an upholstery brush. It comes with a black bag to store the attachments in. We also keep the manual in there, which is very well laid-out and easy to follow. It has a very bright light, plus it can be reduced in length to be similar to a portable, hand-held vacuum (see photo). All sections come apart easily and go together easily. It is loud, but POWERFUL. It is surprisingly powerful for such a small, compact device. It has a LONG cord. I measured it at 29 feet in length. 29 feet! Of course, you have to loop it up yourself after using the machine....no self-winding cord with a unit like this, which I suppose is obvious. It has a little hook on the side to hang it on. It can be wall-mounted, making it easy to store out of the way. It has a switch for two power settings...one on high, for deep cleaning, such as carpets and heavy rugs, and one for lighter cleaning...bare floors, bathroom rugs, etc. It has a dust cup to catch the dirt, which is very easy to snap off and empty. No bags to deal with. Yes, it will fill more quickly than a large disposable bag, but since it is so easy to empty, this is not a big deal for us. It also has a filter, which like the dust cup, is very easy to access, remove, and hand wash. You would think in looking at this vacuum that you might tire over time when you use it, since the motor is up near the handle. We have not found this to be the case. It really well-balanced and hardly produces any strain at all, particularly when using the motorized carpet attachment, which provides a wider base for it to rest on when youre using it. Overall, I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner...it is practical, powerful, and easy to clean. I hope this review was helpful. Please feel free to ask me any question you may have and I will do my best to answer. If things change as we use it more, I will update the review...thanks for reading!

Great suction!! Great for quick everyday quick cleaning. Just wish there was a way these could be made to stand on their own. Realize the weight if the top wont allow self standing but wish companies could come up with a solution. Only thing I dont like about this vacation. LOVE tge ease of use and power though!!!
