The, Shark Vertex Ultra Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum is not a replacement for my Shark Vertex with the cord. The Vertex with the cord will do a much better job than the cordless. For me, its more about getting the stairs as well as hard to reach places. Above my head and underneath the bed. Overall, I happy with this purchase. Have a nice day.

I was a little skeptical about getting a cordless vacuum. My husband was the one that persuaded me to but it because we live in an older house with minimal outlets....so we are always unplugging something to plug in the vacuum. I am so glad he suggested this!!!! We did the research first...dyson vs shark. Was the price difference really worth the $$? I decided to get this shark for a few reasons. 1. removable battery- you can plug it in anywhere and store the vacuum out of sight. 2. attachments that came with it- we have a cat and dog....we clean often and the attachments that came with this make it easy to clean those hard to get (and forgotten) places like ceiling fans, behind doors, and under furniture. 3. it folds down for easier storage- our shark upright plug in vacuum is sometimes difficult to get out of the hall closet with all the coats hanging because the handle gets caught by a sleeve or something. This vacuum handle folds down to store easily under all those hanging coats. 4. lightweight to take up and down the stairs and light enough our 6yr old can use it and maneuver it easily 3. price point was in a reasonable range. The ONLY negative I have found is that the dirt compartment is kind of small......it holds about as much dirt as our Roomba. We have to empty it a lot more often than we do the corded vacuum. Its not that big of a deal but still somewhat annoying.

The only negative is the battery quit before I could get through my whole house, so I am ordering a second battery to keep charged in reserve. In terms of suction power and maneuverability, this machine beats my Dyson stick vac times ten! It picks up bird seed under the Canary cage (and all the larger bits that the Dyson would spit out) with great ease. I vacuumed under the beds and furniture with ease - theres a lot of dust hiding under there. It picks up a TON of dust that other machines have left behind. Im glad I ordered this.

We were excited to have a cordless stick vacuum with 2 batteries but after about 10 months it started losing suction, stopped spinning, spit out crumbs etc. Very disappointing considering the price!

We already have the Shark Rocket Duoclean corded vacuum, great vacuum overall. But we got a new puppy that sheds a lot, so I wanted to ditch the cord first and foremost. And also heard the tangle free brush is really a thing, so wanted that. Since Im the chief home vacuumer here lol, its on me to report that in both those regards, Im pretty happy. That brush really does not tangle, its amazing. Even though the Rocket made it easy to access the brush to clean off the tangled hair and stuff, not having to do it at all is real game changer! As for the battery part, Ill say the claim that it holds a full hour charge is a bit misleading. Perhaps if you only vacuum at the bare floor setting and be sure to turn it off at every opportunity, you could squeeze an hour out of it. But charge length is adequate for me, I could hit the main floor, all the rugs, the stairs, basement...and run out of juice right at the very end there. But also, full disclosure, I vacuum everything at the carpet setting, I think it does a better job cleaning bare floors that way. The other feature that is awesome on this vacuum is the folding arm, wow that thing is handy! I got no problem bending over to vacuum under the bed, etc...but not having to is great. Another benefit is that its way more maneuverable with it, for instance you could get into tight corners off to the side which you cant do with a normal stick vacuum. I find myself using this folding arm feature a lot. However, there are a couple features which the Shark Rocket had, which I find I miss on this Vertex. My main complaint in that regard is that theres no foot button to disconnect the stick from the brush head, you got to bend down and do it by hand. I frequently pop the brush off to get dust bunnies in corners where the brush wont fit, or reach a spider web up in a ceiling corner or something like that. With the Rocket it was so easy to pop the stick out, do the deed, pop it back in and keep vacuuming. But with the Vertex its a pain because it also doesnt smoothly release, so you have to reach down, push the button, wiggle the stick loose, it just kinda sux when doing it frequently. Along those lines, my other complaint is that the only light is on the brush head. On the Shark, the vacuum head itself had a light as well, so when you used the stick w/o the brush head to chase dust bunnies in dark corners, you could see what youre doing. With the Vertex, youre running blind in that regard. So those two things have me dropping a star off this review. But, personally I say those are worthy compromises, and the benefits of the Vertex over the corded Rocket far outweigh the cons. I have to say though, I have a final complaint about the seller. Although the seller is listed as The Shark Store on the listing, at checkout it becomes some reseller (which I didnt notice at the time). In my case, it was Martinos Market. The box arrived looking like it was resealed, and the dust brush attachment was not included (nor is it listed on the box as an included item). Contacting Martinos Market got me no response from them, and Amazons answer is ship it back for a refund or exchange (for exactly the same vacuum w/o a dust brush attachment). Ive used the vacuum already so Ill just keep it as is, but its a bit bogus to advertise included attachments which are not included, and slipping in a reseller is weird as well. So star off for that as well.

I hesitated justifying spending this much money but bit the bullet. I am so happy I did. I live out in the country where there is constant dust or mud depending on weather and also have three dogs in house. One is long haired. The suction was impressive and easy to operate and to dismantle to attach other devices to reach different areas. I could clean easily behind t.v. and by the toilets. I love the flex so i can go underneather funiture where I couldnt reach before. Also the container is a nice size to accumilate so I am not always emptying the bin. I love how I dont have to mess with the cord which is bonus. Easy to store with the flex and doesnt take much room up. Overall so happy I made my life easier and cleaner with this vaccum. It came with batteries, a charger, and other devices to attach and detach depending what you want to clean. Now I have something also to clean my inside of car and dont have to drive to a carwash for a vaccum. Overall very happy! Also forgot its nice and light. If there is cobwebs on cieling I can reach them with ease.

I have had a previous model for 4 years, and it was time to replace it. The first one was really great. It worked on both hard surfaces, and upto medium pile parpet. The new model arrived a few days ago, and was easy to assemble. The batteries charged up fine. The new model works well on hard floors, but when it comes to carpet, thats a different story. It works fine on very low pile, but the new design uses a smaller diameter wheel making it very difficult to move on medium pile parpet. I cant imagine using it on deep pile. The unit controls are also rather slow to respond to operation changes. Too bad the manufacturer didnt think this all the way through.

As I’m still using this vacuum, it’s wonderful for the floors, quite. It did take me awhile to figure how to unfold to make upright. Nice that you can disconnect the battery from the vacuum and charge elsewhere. Because the battery is close to the handle of the vacuum, it’s heavy, even on low rug setting it still sucks up my area rugs and will suck up cat/dog toys with no problems. Make sure they are all picked up. I feel even though it was not great for my area rugs, I still like it to use on my floors, and you can get under chairs, bed etc.

Works well! Light weight. Worth the money. To my surprise this works quite well, my husband has the vacuum Notsi and he loves us and says it works great! My only downfall is for some reason I thought it would mount on the wall. But it’s a much cheaper version of the Dyson and worth it!
