Been waiting for prices on SSDs to reach a good price. Using for back up for externals and they are worth it. Speed is good.

Having just received this new, it was formatted for the first time in a hdd enclosure without problem. I have not benchmarked it, but I suspect it will function on par with other SSD in its class. Only time will tell how welll it holds up. Thats the only real reason I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5. I may change that rating later based on performance later. I cant speak for modern gaming speeds. There are better options out there for that. But as a simple upgrade from a mechanical hard drive or smaller/older ssd, you will likely notice some performance increase. For the price, its an affordable replacement or upgrade.

I do not know if this is one of the fastest drives available but it works great for my everyday needs. Much faster than a hard drive and the price for this SSD is not much more than you would pay for a 1TB hard drive. I would recommend it for basic storage or gaming. If you are upgrading from a hard drive, your PC will feel brand new because it will boot much quicker.

$45 bucks for 1TB of SSD? Thats a great price in toadys market, maybe its a few MBs slower than competing brands, but its still HUNDREDs of MBs faster than HDD. I bought 2, used EASEUS Todo Backup to clone Windows laptops. Went without a hitch. (Dont forget youll need a USC -> SATA III adapter cable for the cloning process). Both systems boot in seconds instead of minutes for only $45. Worth it. No problems so far after a couple months of operation. (Remember to retain your old HDD in case you are forced to do it again if the SSD fails).

Finally decided to try an SSD after my wifes LAPTOP died. Once I figured out it was the 2yr old HHD was the issue, I started pricing a new drive. For the same price or even less I could get this SSD. Installed normally but WOW...what a difference. Windows 10 installed in less than 4 minutes (from USB). No more complaints about her laptop. And actually shes trying to keep me off it.

Using an SSD 2.5 for your main disk is basically a thing of the past. All new motherboards have been equipped with NVMe M.2 slots for the past 3-4 years. All SSDs are limited by the SATA speed of 6gbs. So buying a premium brand may not be the smart thing to do. We often use the 4gbs versions of SSDs in our builds so customers have a built-in backup. The other day we used four 4gig SSDs that were connected as a RAID 1 to give the customer a fast, (that is much faster than conventional hard drives), internal backup system. The normal hard drives may copy/read in the 250 range while this RAID 1 was doing it at 725.

Good value per tb and speed is good enough. I had 2 of these 2 tb drives fail however which a major headache. Lasted about 6 months from nov 22 til may 23.
