Our Dyson cordless vac recently had issues and no replacement parts seemed to fix the problem. So did some research and found this Tineco recommended by Wirecutter. Figured it was worth a try, especially since it doesnt cost as much as a Dyson! Were so shocked by how quiet it is! The first week or so of using it, we thought it wasnt on because it ran so quietly. We love the light that helps us see dirt in corners and under furniture. The dust monitor is interesting as well -- it supposedly measures the amount of dust in the area youre vacuuming to help you get a more thorough clean. Assembly was super easy, all the parts snap together well. The dust bin took a bit of finagling to figure out, but thats mainly because its different from Dysons style. The charger is also nice. You can take the battery off the main vacuum or charge it without removing it. But best of all... the switch you can flip to keep pressing the on button! My fingers rejoice, no more pain trying to press the button constantly for a long cleaning session! I do wish it had suction closer to the edges of the main vacuum attachment. I have to go back over our stairs with the detailer to get dust stuck in the corners.

We have 3 dogs and 4 cats so it probably gets a little overworked, but for an apartment or pet free house would probably be awesome.

Works much better than the Dyson cordless vacuum it replaces.

Battery on my Dyson V7 was dying so I shopped around for a replacement. Seriously considered buying another Dyson, but wanted to consider newer technology. After 1 month of use, I believe this vacuum is better than the Dyson. It’s nice to have the LED light and especially the trigger lock(unlike the Dyson). The automatic dirt sensor controls the speed of the motor! Lastly, the battery life is excellent!

What I like: the light on the bottom to see all the dirt you’re picking up, the flat head so you can maneuver under furniture, fairly lightweight Cons: terrible with pet hair. Clumps up super fast and I’m always having to dig around the canister to empty it out. My old Dyson I didn’t have to touch any or the dirt or hair to make sure it emptied. It gets clogged easily and quickly loses its suction. I find myself having to wash my hands every time I vacuum because I am removing clogs from the pet hair each time. If you have a dog hair problem, definitely splurge on a higher end model made specifically for it! I wish I would’ve done that.

I got the Pure One 15 after my last 2 Dyson cordless V8 & V10 did not have the the value over time I expect at that price. I liked the standing charging dock and that replacement parts/accessories were more reasonably priced. Wirecutter recommends the Pure one, so I decided to try it out. CR no longer recommends cordless sticks bc arent great value over time, but I have LOVED my Dysons in mint condition. I dont think the suction on this compares to my V8, but the battery is probably comparable in run time. The bin is much smaller on the Pure One. It is much quieter than my Dysons have been which is a plus but Id rather louder and vacuum for 3 minutes than quieter and vacuum for 10. On MAX, it is barely more effective than low or auto settings. And it is MUCH much harder to maneuver. Dyson is a zoom zoom and were done, easy breezy experience by comparison. I find I am covering the same territory back and forth and back and forth which is not a big deal in a small space but would drive me nuts in a larger space. But if it lasts as long as my Dysons, it may be acceptable. I kinda like that you dont have to hold the power on but it does save power when pausing. Im not used to clicking it on/off yet when I pause but I can do a daily spin on one charge in my space so it isnt a very big deal. I cannot recommend to Dyson owners, it is heavier, slower, and all around disappointing BUT if you have no comparison and cant or wont spend on a Dyson, many other reviewers seem perfectly satisfied. Currently, the price is same as V8, without comparable loaded accessories from Dyson. I would recommend V8 over the Pure One for the same price. But that could change if this one performs better over time. The standing charging dock was the deciding factor for me on this purchase. I figured knock offs had time to catch up, but this is not what I would consider competitive with a 5 year old Dyson model V8. I will likely return to Dyson on my next purchase having sampled the competition. I feel better about spending on a Dyson, even if it doesnt last as long as it should for the price. The price/longevity is the only disadvantage of the Dysons. I am actually surprised wire cutter selected the Pure One.

Very happy with my purchase ( a Wirecutter’s recommendation) but the battery life is not long enough to last me a few hours without putting it back on the charging station.

This review is for Tineco Pure ONE S11 Tango which is difficult to find as the listings/names keep changing (today the word Tango is left out but I got the soft roller as well as the brush head for carpet) Im happy with the look, the feel of the build quality, and basic performance. I have not yet used the app, not sure I will. I am comparing it to the Simplicity S65 which Ive had for over 2 years so here are the differences, most of which are negative: 1) The tube is shorter than the S65 and even though I am only 55 tall it feels too short for me. 2) To turn it on and leave it on requires 2 hands - you have to pull the trigger and while HOLDING THE TRIGGER you must use your other hand to move a switch to lock the trigger. This is stupid. The trigger should be a toggle. That locking switch feels a little flimsy to me. 3) The button to open the dustbin feels flimsy. At first I thought it wasnt working but you have to push it harder than you think you should and then it will release. 4) The filters seem like theyre going to be a pain. There are 2 filters - 1 metal, 1 cloth. There is actually a tool you attach to the vacuum to clean the filter. Dear God. No one wants to spend that much time on regular maintenance for a vacuum. If I cared that much about my air quality I wouldnt have pets. 5) The joint where the head attaches to the pole has a big elbow joint that doesnt allow you to reach low under furniture - the head pops a wheelie and loses contact with the floor unless you rotate the pole 90 degrees - another thing that slows you down and makes it less convenient than the S65. See photos. 6) The roller head seems better built than on the S65 - the strips on the edges that protect your floor appear to be better quality - maybe they wont come off & have to be glued back on repeatedly like on my S65. Lesson I learned is never to use the hard floor roller on carpet or rugs - that will pull those strips off. 7) The vacuum came with a wall mount but a lot of people may not want to use that - if they rent they may not be allowed to make holes in their walls so a floor mount should be an option. I havent mounted mine yet and may not. You can make it work in the floor, but not as easy to get the unit snapped in the charger as on the S65. 8) The mini-brush head has a very gentle brush that it says is for cleaning upholstered furniture or mattresses. The brush is so gentle you could vacuum a babys face with it. I use that small size head to vacuum a carpeted staircase so was very disappointed - this wont be able to do that effectively. Ill keep using the S65 for that job. 9) Have not used it yet, but the dusting tool also has brushes that are very short and not very many of them. I cant imagine this will be effective for cleaning anything. I bought this because I wanted 1 vac per floor of my house and also because these lithium batteries reportedly last less than 5 years so I expect my 2.5 year old S65 to stop working in the next 2-3 years. Consumer reports rated the Tineco Pure One as one of the best cordless vacs.

I needed a lightweight vacuum to do my stairs, and this was perfect! The battery last long enough to vacuum two full floors (about 2500 sq ft). The canister doesn’t hold a lot, so does require frequent emptying. I do appreciate the indicator that tells you when the canister is getting full and the clear indicator of battery left.
