Ive only had this installed for a month. So far my read/write speeds have nearly doubled. It appears to be stable but its still early to tell. If anything changes, Ill add to this review in the future.

I first thought this was terrible as it performed horribly using a Sabrent USB-C enclosure and an Anker USB-C enclosure but then I tried a Kingston stick and got equally bad results. In the end my conclusion was the USB/C enclosures are terrible on Macs. Put it in a Windows PC and it’s doing great.

So I rmad the device due to the fact it was DOA, the second DOA western digital hard drive ive gotten in just a few months spaced between each purchase. The first one I received I was able to get it refunded through amazon on my wifes account, I figured that was just a fluke so I ordered a second drive from them and that one also came DOA which was shocking to me. This is not why I give western digital 1 star. There customer service for the RMA process is abysmal. The guy who set up my RMA put the wrong serial number so they denied my rma. Im not even sure theyre going to send my drive back now so Im just out the couple hundred I spent on my hard drive for the mistake that they made. Ill never buy western digital ever again, ill stick to Sabrent and Samsung. I never had any issues with any of their drives. i feel like you guys need to make this right, because all i wanna do now is tell people how bad your customer service is and how bad your products are. Youre quality control is horrible as well. Please contact me because Id like the drive replaced or at the very least, send my old drive back so I can take pictures of it and report it to the BBB.

It is an affordable and effective storage solution for those who want to expand their memory on a laptop. Installation is, however, going to depend largely on the laptop model. I have a razer blade 15, and I was dumbfounded trying to install the second SSD since razer blades use an overlapping bracket that I took nearly 2 hours to figure out. That said, this was not the fault of the SSD and rather just something I being a razer fan, have come to accept.

A literal rocket of an SSD for basically the same price as its slower competition. Just shows you how overpriced Samsung SSDs are. Dont get me wrong, Samsung SSDs are fantastic but the Samsung premium was tolerable when they were the only game in town. With cards like the WD black SN770, Samsung either needs to up its game or bring its prices back down to Earth so its competitive again. This SSD is great and I cant recommend it enough.

Ok… so easy to place in pc, but so hard to find to allocate it into the drive. I had to find so many YouTube videos…
