> 3 dayI have a lot of these so they make sense to keep purchasing. They work well with Alexa and seem to last (do not confuse these with the outdoor stake model with three outlets, those are junk). The WiOn app doesn’t offer a lot of features, but it works well enough.

> 3 dayAfter wiring and installing low voltage lights around our backyard pool and spa, I wanted an easy way to turn them off when using the spa to see the night sky better. The low voltage transformer for the yard lights is on a side of the house not easily accessed from the backyard. A Google search for outdoor WiFi switch brought up this WiOn product and the description sounded perfect for what I needed. When I received it and set it up, it was exactly what I needed. Product was easy to install with the matching app and easy to use. On those cool, cloudless evenings when a soak in the spa with stargazing is the perfect ending to our day, I can easily switch the yard lights off from the pool with my phone. If I didnt have a dedicated, switched outlet for my outdoor Christmas lights, the WiOn switch is a great solution to add to an outdoor outlet to turn lights on and off from the comfort of your living room.

Greater than one weekUPDATE: Thanks to a review from another person, I finally figured out how to make mine work with alexa. The key is the plug needs to have a 1 word name (in WiOn app). If you use 2 words, it wont connect to alexa. Now that its working with alexa, its a great product. The company isnt great though. No support and their iOS app is the worst UI ive ever seen. Original review: Use this for my x-mas lights on the patio. Now I can turn them on and off without going outside to plug/unplug it, which is awesome. I use the timer usually. Only issue is that Alexa wont find the device, so I cannot use voice commands. I have the skills connected, but the device wont be found.

> 3 dayFantastic device, quite easy to set up and it seems to be working reliably after 4 days in use. I am using it to remotely control a pond aerator that requires a very specific on/off schedule. An added benefit of using a WIFI-enabled device in the cloud is that I know the house power and my home wifi network are functioning generally, and also that the aerators circuit has not tripped the GFI. This unit can handle 15 amps and 1000 watts, well above the 1/3 hp 5-amp draw (650 watts) of my pond aerator motor. The WiOn app on my iPhone is easy to use and offers great programming flexibility as well as manual on/off override independent of the time settings.

> 3 dayThis device works great but the app could use a couple of improvements: 1) Please add an auto-off timer feature: Id really like to be able to set a custom max run time so any time I turn the outlet on, it will automatically shut off again after, say 2 hours, or maybe 3. I hate waking up in the morning to realize I left it on all night. 2) Change the color scheme! I dont think I suffer from any form of colorblindness however I have a really tough time differentiating between the gray off and green on colors. The green is so pale. Add it bit more contrast and pop to the palette please! Other than these tweaks, I think its a great product.

> 3 dayI have two of these. One for outdoor lights, the other for a water fountain. Every day they come in, every day at the set time, they turn off. You loose power and restore, and all settings stay saved. If you would like to manually turn them ON or OFF, just open the app and tap the button. It is a head turner on any back yard party!!! I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN AND RECOMMEND ANYTIME!

> 3 dayI haven’t written to many reviews on Amazon but felt I needed to for this item. People have knocked it because they cannot get it setup within Alexa. It took me a bit to get it setup as well but after reading several reviews once, I did get it to work with Alexa. You NEED to use a one word name within the Wion app. Don’t worry, you can rename it once it’s setup in Alexa/Echo. When setting it up at first winthin the Wion app, just name it “wion” that’s it. Check to make sure it works in the Wion app first, then set it up within Alexa/Echo. Once it’s setup, change the name to whatever you want within the smart home option like any other device you’ve setup. You shouldn’t have any issues and it should work if you do this. It would give it 5 stars if each connection worked independently and not together as one. Hopefully at some point that will happen.

> 3 dayWould have had five stars for doing what it is supposed to do, easy set up and easy app but I had to replace one because it got water in it. Outdoor rated outlets really shouldnt let water in. Keep it in a place where it will stay dry and it will be great.

Greater than one weekWorks as advertised. I purchased 2 to control my landscape lights with the existing transformers. The one farthest from the router required the addition of a Wifi repeater, but otherwise worked flawlessly. The phone interface only allows setting on and off times astronomical and or specific program times. If you want to have the the timer turn on at sunset and turn off at a specific time, use these instructions that Southwire sent me via email: You can hard set your off time to whatever you want it does not have to follow any set example: Here is example to follow setting WION to cover Dusk until Dawn: First you set an ASTRONOMIC TIMER on at dusk and off at dawn. Then you set a PROGRAMMABLE TIMER on at 10:59pm and off at 11pm. Both timers will work together to make your lights go on at dusk, and off at 11pm. Basically, it works like this: 1. At dusk the device is told to turn on, so it powers up. 2. At 10:59pm it is also told to turn on, but it is already on, so nothing changes. 3. At 11:00pm the device is told to turn off, so it shuts off the power. 4. At dawn it is also told to turn off, but it is already off so nothing happens.

Greater than one weekThis was easy to setup and install. I installed two different ones and they both are working, grouped together and controlled by Alexa. The only issue I had was I tried to put a 3 way splitter on one of the plugs (as I have 3 extension cables running Christmas Lights). It would only allow for 2 of them to work with the splitter. However, if I plugged in an extension cord and then put the splitter at the end of the cord, it worked like a champ. Hopefully its not pushing the limits on what it can handle. As mentioned, the setup was easy. Just use the online setup within the application to help you setup Alexa as theres no Alexa instructions in the printed instructions that came with it. The app was a little quirky when you have multiple outlets, However, the price of the outdoor outlets were well worth it. And now that Alexa controls it, dont really need the app for much anyway.
