Greater than one weekBought a few of these years ago and had a good experience. I bought another one to replace one but this one wouldn’t connect. Kept. “Looking for server” so I called customer service and they gave me some bs about “I’m level 2 and this requires a level 5 technician” I know the trick because I called several times and got the same responses. The trick is “when we bump you to level 5, it’s a $55 dollar one time fee”. Makes no sense- that’s more than I paid for the actual device and wreaks of fraud. I asked what they would do and one said they would connect to it and upload a patch to the device. But how can they upload to the device if I can’t connect to the device? Super disappointed and I ended up returning. The other 3 still work so I’m not putting 1 star but buyer beware now

> 3 dayNowhere in the description of this or their website does state what you find out when reading the instructions: you cannot control the two outlets individually. Whats the point of having 2 outlets on this then? 2019: I have 2 of these now and theyre not bad. They do the job. I just wish that it would have stated beforehand that you can not control each of the 2 outlets individually.

> 3 dayThe instructions leave a bit to the imagination, but after I figured out how to initially connect this thing to my router its been working flawlessly since. I use the Android app and have no issues. There is about a 10-30 second delay on turning the outlets on/off manually, but I can deal with that easily. Its in a very wet environment and exposed to all the elements so its holding up as advertised. Dont expect it to manage each of the two outlets independently. Both outlets turn on/off together. I would definitely buy another unit. Just be patient with the setup. Its probably not faulty - it just has faulty instructions.

> 3 dayFor a few years, I had 5 of these controlling my outdoor landscaping lights. I liked that they didnt require a hub, didnt require communication over the Internet with a server somewhere, and was completely self-contained on my home network. I finally abandoned these in favor of a hub-based system (like SmartThings and Wink) because they are just way too unreliable and have very few programming options. The app that controls these is atrocious and looks like it was designed by someone with no app design experience. Although it can do things like turn on the lights at sunset and turn them off at sunrise, theres no way to do something like turn off the lights 4 hours after sunset unless you program it manually. That may have changed in the few months since I got rid of them. It should be something easy to implement if someone was actually working to improve the app. These have to be in range of a really good wifi signal, otherwise they are impossible to program and control manually. One nice thing is that it will remember the programming, even if not connected to wifi. There were lots of times where the app said the switches couldnt be reached by wifi, but they still turned on and off at the right times. When that happened, the only way to reset the wifi connection was to physically go to the switch and reset it, which was a huge pain. I was constantly having to mess around with the app and the switches to get them to work. Since switching over to a server-based hub system with a better app interface, Ive not had to touch or reprogram my landscape lights once.

Greater than one weekBought my outdoor connector 2 years ago. It controls my 100+ feet of outdoor Christmas lightening and decorations for almost 2 month of the year (late November to early January). It Works flawlessly. This year I was surprised that after being disconnected and stored away with the decoration; the unit was able to reconnect to the home wireless network without me reconfiguring it. I plugged in the outlet, it blink rapidly like searching for the wireless SSID and connected without a problem. I like the application too. I have it installed on my IPhone and IPad devices. I find it to be user friendly and very flexible with the editing and scheduling of events. I also own one of their light switches which I used to control my front porch lighting. I have been using the switch every day for almost 3 years. It has lost connection to the home wireless 2 times, due to prolonged power outage in my nations capital city. To reconnect it to the home wireless, I just pressed the reset button in the unit with a toothpick, the unit blinks blue for a few it then stops blinking and the light becomes a solid blue indicating that the unit is connected to the home Wi-Fi. It is a well made product. I will buy it again and recommen it. NOone has payed/given me anything for my comment.

18-12-2024I bought two of these to use for Christmas lights and both work perfectly. The 2nd one was a little bit harder to set up until I unplugged my 1st one, then it set up instantly just like my first one did. I use the timer for the entire week and that has worked flawlessly and reliably. Im very happy with these and would recommend them for sure.

> 3 dayI purchase this item because I couldnt plug both my sprinkler and landscape lighting into the same outdoor plug on my home. I saw this on a few videos, and thought is was cool. Works like a charm on the outside of my home and seems to hold up great after a few rains. I dont use the wifi but this would come in handy if I wanted to turn things on/off via the app. I find this to be a great outdoor solution when the standard electric box does not accommodate 2 plugs.

> 3 dayWould have had five stars for doing what it is supposed to do, easy set up and easy app but I had to replace one because it got water in it. Outdoor rated outlets really shouldnt let water in. Keep it in a place where it will stay dry and it will be great.

> 3 dayI tried four of these things (one from Amazon, three from my local Menards). They need to be within about 10 feet of an access point to be even semi-functional. This appears to be an internal antenna issue with these devices specifically rather as other smart plugs I own do not have these issues. If you happen to be close enough to a wireless access point for a Wion Plug to connect and operate in a Smart fashion, youll find out that the Wion App and Alexa Smart Devices will both report that these devices are irregularly rather than constantly available, even under an ideal condition. Of the four devices I tried, one was completely nonfunctional. It never powered on or powered any attached devices. A second one refused to enter pairing mode and could not be configured. Two more would only connect irregularly and of those two, one would shut down after operating for about three minutes. It felt like it might have been overheating. All four were tried both indoors, within about 1 meter of open air from a commercial-grade access point; and outdoors, where they were 2.5 and one standard wood-and-drywall home construction wall from the same commercial access point. For a device that is purportedly design for outdoor use, I found these to be objectively bad. Half of the devices I tried wouldnt even consistently operate as simple power outlets! Dont buy these.

> 3 dayBought two of these in Nov 2016 for outdoor lighting and fountain control (one for each). Getting ready to order another to control additional lighting were adding. As I recall, the setup was a little tricky. Had to read the instructions carefully to connect it with wifi, then with Alexa. But its pretty amazing to just tell Alexa to turn on the patio lights, or turn on the fountain and voila! Its on. Guests love it. Smartphone app works perfectly too. Highly recommend
