Wife likes it. The screen is very nice for the price. Almost true black. Appears to be aluminum or metal alloy body.

If you are looking for budget laptops for whatever use this is the best deal. Fast, crisp picture, backlit keys, the works. I added 4 RAM for extra speed for 19 bucks. I bought 3 aspires and one slim, 2 for work one for home and one for son ( who incidentally broke it). I was a Sony Viao fan and bought 1000 dollar laptops previously but now this works as good. Highly recommended.

I was happy with the Aspire 5 when I first used it. Then the touch pad stopped working . The instructions told me to uninstall and reinstall the touch pad. But the touch pad will not show up on the device manager. So I went to Acers web side for support. I set up an order for repair and was informed that I would receive an e-mail telling me how to ship to the repair center. I waited a few days, but never received the e-mail. So I went back to Acers web page and entered my case reference number. The astounding response was that my Aspire 5 had been repaired and would be returned by Fedex. That was amazing since I was typing on the very Aspire 5 that was being shipped back to me. I So I signed on to chat and tried to explain. But HAL, the robot decided that I wanted to reinstall Windows 10 and sent me to a page where I could fetch an DVD to reinstall.

Nice laptop! The resolution is great, it’s lightweight but sturdy. The keyboard lights up in a helpful way.

Good picture quality, easy to use. I did a fair amount of research before buying; I had certain features that I wanted but wanted to stay under $500--not easy to do if you want a versatile, quality product. I read a lot of reviews by techies and customer feedback. This brand/model came up frequently as a lot of bang for the buck. Ive been using it for several weeks now and have not been disappointed.

I only give this three stars because of Windows 10 because I love Acer computers. I HATE Windows 10. All of a sudden my font size changes, my emails disappears to draft, and in the middle of any viewing I get kicked off of the internet. Any chance I could return this computer and get Windows 8???

The IPS panel is way better than the average laptop screen in this price range.

If you know a little it if hardware and computers, you can upgrade this computer to the same level as a $1000 MacBook or even better. Also it even looks similar. Its not cheap made. Im really surprised
