Decent laptop for the price

Use this for basic daily tasks online and for creating google docs, sheets, etc. After a month, I am very pleased with the functionality and battery life of this device. Great value and product.

This really seemed like it could be a nice laptop but the speakers, oh man the speakers! The sound is so quiet here. Any of these reviews that say the speakers are good are straight up lying to you. You cannot use this to watch any kind of videos without external speakers or headphones - unless youre in a completely silent room and really focused I guess. Cheapest, quietest speakers Ive ever seen in a laptop.

So I finally needed a new laptop because of the prospect of going for my doctorate degree so I figured I would just get a basic laptop since I really only stream some soccer games and surf the web for research and what not. So far I have been using this laptop for a couple of months now and I do really like it, but I am also not picky. I havent had a new laptop in 14 years so thats what I have for comparison haha. Anyways everything is just fine for the price. It starts up real quick and shuts down real quick which is nice. I took it out of S Mode right away because I need to download non Microsoft apps for school and I like it better this way. I also like Chrome a lot more than Windows Edge as a browser. Anyways I do like the design, it feels sturdy and like it could take some abuse. The only disappointment is the battery life. I would expect a basic laptop to have decent battery life since I dont have a lot of apps and dont use it for a lot of high power usage tasks, but between streaming soccer 50% of the usage and just surfing the web for the other 50% it seems to average about 4-6 hours. Now like I said, I havent had a new laptop in a while, but I remember they had that battery life 14 years ago so I think I just expected far better 14 years later. Perhaps 4-6 hours is good. Not sure, but it seems low to me. Oh well, still very satisfied with it and would certainly recommend it to others as of right now.

It came today and I plugged it in, charged, powered on and did the setup. Walked away for a bit and came back to it with a black screen. I assumed it went to sleep or the screen turned off. The power button does nothing. Blue light is on saying it is charged. Held down power for 45 seconds- nothing. Unplugged from charger and did the same. Waited a bit and called amazon tech who had me repeat the same steps. I’ve now been on hold for 25 minutes while they reach out to acer to see if there is something else they can do.

The laptop is good quality but there was a problem activating the Windows product key. Called Acer and they are sending a fresh install for windows 10. Just a hassle but will get resolved. It arrives in S mode which only allows downloads from the Microsoft Store. When we tried to take it out of S mode that’s when we discovered the licensing problem. Just be aware you might be able to use it out of the box for certain things, but if you want to load Chrome as your browser for example, you’ll have to go through certain steps and may encounter a similar Windows 10 software issue but Acer customer service/support was really great.

Its smooth when you play games. The speakers quality is crisp but not that loud. Smartphones speakers are higher than this computer but overall.

Got this product today may be too soon to review but I am more than pleased with how the quality of the laptop is!! And ignore reviews talking about how you can’t get it out of S mode I legit feared this because of the select reviews I read about how it was so hard .... people READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! That simple took me 5 minutes to take it off lol ... but very pleased over all!! Very happy College student !

I had this laptop for 3 months before trouble started with wifi adapter. About 6 months after purchase a line showed up on the screen permanently! I have never taken it out of my room or out and about, and have been very very careful with it as I seen it as an investment. I feel so ripped off!!!

This laptop is great for what I purchased it for - I have no complaint about its performance. However, I am highly disappointed that I cannot download apps or programs that are outside of the Microsoft AppStore. Their selection of apps seem to be somewhat limited.
