> 3 dayI have been happy with most ASUS products I have owned over the years. Reading some of the harsh critical comments about this unit did give me pause, but I went with my gut feeling and purchased it anyway. So far I am very happy with it. I find the standard setting to be the best compromise as far as what, to my eyes, seems accurate and natural looking for games. I bought this to replace a 20 HP which I got at Walmart years ago. However, I wanted to step up from 60Hz to 122 or 144, since my video card is fully capable of 150 frames per second on my games. I play FPS pc games pretty exclusively and this monitor has given me a slight edge, when combined with a larger mouse pad and my Razer mouse/keyboard. The bigger screen and smoother action has helped me with twitch targeting slightly, and is much more pleasurable to view overall. Foolishly, I initially went to a website to find what the experts recommended as far as user-tweakable settings and, along with a few other things, cranked up the Trace Free setting to 100, as directed. Later, when I tested one of my games, I was getting horrible ghost-like edges and a rainbowish motion blur. Of course, I completely forgot about the Trace Free setting and became disillusioned when I returned all settings to what I thought was factory default, and the problem persisted. Eventually, after much exasperation, I returned the Trace Free setting to factory, (40), and the monitor looks beautiful now. As far as the low ratings here, I must conclude that there are simply enthusiasts here who are a bit too snobbish for their own good. Are there better monitors out there? Sure, I have seen a couple, but, if you are like me and you do not want to invest $600 in a monitor, then look no further. This one will be a very welcome upgrade. I recommend you buy it.

> 3 dayThis monitor is amazing and plays really well. It makes games buttery smooth and the image/video quality is really good to. Would have been 5 stars for me but after just an hour of using it I noticed that there were 2 dead (green) pixels every time a dark or black screen came on. I was very disappointed upon seeing this as I would have expected better for the price paid for this. Maybe I lucked out and got defective one.

> 3 dayI purchased three of these monitors for a Surround setup, currently in portrait. The included base is intuitive and stylish, allowing one to rotate from landscape to portrait by simply turning it. I originally had the three of them mounted onto a frame and displayed in landscape mode, but the ultra-wide 5780x1080 resolution was a bit jarring and far too unsupported. Presently, theyre all set up in bezel-corrected 3950x1920, and its quite the theatrical experience. Everything I play now is HUGE, equivalent to a 44 inch TV with 6 million pixels. The bezels are reasonably thick, but for the amount of screen area you get, arent too bad. Keep in mind that running three of these in 144Hz mode requires at least one of them to be run through DisplayPort for it to function properly. The 1ms response times and refresh rates are definitely noticeable and desirable over other panels, but the crowning feature of this monitor and other 144hz models are the LightBoost support. Check it out, as itll change everything. Im removing a star for the color reproduction of this monitor. Its a TN panel, so the colors tend to be overly bright and washed out. Turning on LightBoost and strobing makes everything dimmer but much easier on the eyes. Ive got the strobing feature turned on across all three panels. Still, I cant help but feel that the colors seem slightly off from what Im used to. Its taken quite a bit of work to get to a setting that I can universally enjoy. I purchased this particular monitor over the BENQ model in anticipation for Nvidias G-SYNC technology. If that releases as a do-it-yourself module, Ill update this review with my impressions of that technology.

> 3 dayThis monitor is a great one, I cant deny that. Id give five stars all around but I bought this monitor in February (2020) and in May (2020) I already had 2 dead pixels. It is now October and I still only have those dead pixels, and I hardly notice them. Was just very odd that I got a brand new monitor and within 2 months already had dead pixels. I didnt write a review sooner as I wanted to see if it would get worse but so far it has not. 2nd issue is that randomly when my monitor turns on from sleep mode im met with a screen of static. I can easily fix this by pressing the power button on the monitor then turning it back on, but this issue does happen a couple times a week for no apparent reason. Id definitely say its a good monitor besides those two things. Very bright, great for gaming, good response time.

> 3 dayI had an Asus 21 inch 60Hz monitor for five years before I upgraded to this. I game quite a bit and have never owned a monitor this nice. I have been slowly upgrading my weakest computer computers to some nicer spec gear and this finally hit my list. I have to say I have never used a 120 or 144hz monitor before this and the difference is like night and day to me coming from a 60hz monitor. I was on a budget when I initially built my computer but of all the components I cheaped out on I must urge you not to do that on your monitor. This monitor was only about 100$ more than the one I initially bought but it is easily worth 3x that in price compared to a standard 60hz monitor. I really didnt think there was that much of a difference until I tried it but I am never going back to a 60hz monitor. I thought my video card was just more dated than I wanted to admit but in reality I just couldnt see what my video card could actually do because my monitor wasnt fast enough to display it. I mainly play FPS games and there is no screen tearing anymore and I feel like I can respond faster to things on my screen since I can actually see them faster. This was one of the best single component computer upgrades I have ever bought. Also my original Asus monitor didnt fail, I just wanted to upgrade. I have had no issues with that one for over five years and this one has been functionally perfectly as well. I love the brand and would easily buy this product again or recommend it to anyone.

Greater than one weekThis is my review after almost 3 years, purchased this on march/april(?) 2016 and have these as a triple monitor setup since that day. I should note that when I originally purchased the 3, one of them had a poor lit panel which I returned for a replacement within a week. 3 years later I have not had a single problem with these monitors- display wise. The ergonomic base/adjusting was a little bit of an issue when setting the 3 monitors side by side in a little bit of an arc formation. The issue which is ridiculous to remedy is that because of all of the adjustment options in all directions, its almost impossible to get all monitors perfectly even but Ive learned to live with it over time because unless you go all out and use a level to get things perfectly horizontal and plumb, they will be small inconsistencies. This however is the nature of these super adjustable bases. The refresh rate of 144hz as well as 1ms response time was actually a blessing in disguise I did not realize until I purchased a separate 28 75hz 5ms monitor recently which I almost instantly regret. If you are not looking for a 4k panel, then 144hz and at most 1ms response time is almost required for gaming. Even single player games, rotating the camera around is so fluid and clean, on the other 75hz panel it hurts my eyes because of the blur/disfiguration from moving the camera. Now the other debate is whether to go 24 or 27/28. The picture on the 24 is going to be a little more dense and compact for lack of a better term because of the smaller screen. The larger screen may have slightly pixelate the image which I noticed on my recently purchased viotek 27 75hz monitor. I know its not the same quality and screen as this but for still images, the difference is noticable especially after getting used to 24 panels. If you dont know what I am talking about go look at a 55 or larger tv on 1080p resolution at a electronics store. The image gets stetched out the larger you go. All things aside, I cant find myself replacing these monitors anytime soon unless 2 or more die at the same time. The quality for its time has been great and still holds up today. I should probably also mention that pc speakers are almost always terrible when compared to an actual external sound speaker system so that should never be a factor in deciding on a monitor. Nowadays alot of people want the low bezel monitors (main reason why I purchased that 27 for another room) but In my experience those have been plauged with more problems (asus included) than panels such as this. While I would like smaller bezels nowadays, its not worth replacing this just for a trend which will either change or be further improved later on. Not sure if already mentioned but no dead pixels either which was a surprise since I thought after a year I was going to get a couple. Good job on these asus lol.

21-12-2024Ok guys so I got this monitor exclusively for my PS4, with that said I know I will not be able to take advantage of the 144Hz and the other features that the monitor has. The one thing you can take full advantage is the 1ms response time and the Game Plus Function with different recitals, I will be honest I was very skeptical about this feature. Well I unboxed it and put it together, took about 5 mins and fired this baby up. I adjusted the color, etc, etc, simple to do. Well I am a BF4 player so I went into that game and fixed the settings, I went into the training range to try out the game plus thing, at first I was ok so this is knida of cool. I played around with it for a bit just to get my eyes adjusted to it. Well I went into my first TDM match, using the SAR, well I went 39 and 5, went into another game 45 and 10, third game 35 and 6!!! I kept on playing for about 2 hours and every time I would end a match with over 25 kills and les then 10 deaths?? To be VERY honest this game feature helps out so much that at times I felt like I was cheating. I also did notice that I felt that I had an advantage towards other player with response time, I dont know its weird but you WILL notice it! Now before you guys start saying that this is bs, I also have a gaming rig with a ASUS VG278H which I also used with my ps4. The only reason I got this monitor is because with my VG278H I just felt that my reaction time was slow on my part, not on the monitor, this was an issue with me. I am an older guy so my eyes are not what they use to be plus I where glasses, And I also play at my desk. The ASUS VG278H is an awesome monitor too dont get me wrong, but now this smaller one I can focus my eyes a lot better for me. Bottom line this monitor is beautiful and yes you will see people say you will not benefit with this monitor if you are using it for a console. Its your money do what you like with it, but from a PS4 fan this monitor works awesome. The one tip I will give is the TRACE FREE fuction, set that to 60 or 80, not a 100 you will see a bit of screen tearing or like the ps4 is trying to catch up to the monitor, other than that GET THIS MONITOR!!!!
