> 24 hourI didnt have any intention to buy a glossy screen. There was no clear statement about whether the screen is glossy or matte and all pictures didnt show its glossiness. Maybe its not very glossy but still glossy and will reflect some light and image from your back. There is also an extreme disadvantage about selecting input from multiple sources. There is no way to disable auto-select or fix the input source. You need to press buttons 3 or 4 times to switch the input source you want again and again if you switch your the input source on/off and there is another input source always on. This is very annoying and its possible this will shorten the button lifetime quickly as well.

> 24 hourI kid. It is quite bright, though. To feel comfortable I run it at 80/100 brightness. Conveniently, the 4 screws/washers you must remove to detach the default stand mount (attached to it out-of-the-box) are also the same fittings needed to mount a VESA bracket. Theyre M4 10mm screws, if Im not mistaken. ASUS VP28UQG 28 Monitor 4K/UHD 3840x2160. Purchased 2021-07.

> 24 hourVery low input lag. Great picture. Only downsides would be no HDR, speakers, and the base couldve been more adjustable but for the money you can beat 4k 60fps at this price. Best budget monitor. Use it on my ps5 and the games look amazing!

> 24 hourThis screen has amazing clarity and a great picture, when it’s working. I selected this particular monitor because the reviews said it worked great connected to a MacBook. While it works 80% of the time, the other 20% it either looks like this, doesn’t “wake up”, or becomes very pixelated (mainly when I navigate to certain websites). I’m disappointed because I really wanted this screen to work. But I’ve had it less than a month and I’m already having problems.

> 24 hour(Update A year later) I think the engineers who created the navigation interface on this monitor may be dumb enough to qualify for government assistance. You normally cant turn this monitor off unless there is a signal coming in from the computer. With some operating systems, locking the screen immediately shuts off the video signal rendering this monitor incapable of being shut off until you wake up the computer and wait for the monitor to realize there is a signal. Something that should be quick is now an entire order of events that can take you 10+ seconds as the operator to wait for everything to occur just so you can access the turn off power function. Over time, this is costly. If you dont value your time, this may be a good monitor for you. I have been using this for a month with positive results. As long as you only have one powered computer connected to the monitor at a time, it is a fine monitor. BUT, if you connect a second computer this thing will make you want to throw a brick through it. It has a setting to choose which input you want to view. But it behaves like a mentally disabled child who thinks it knows better than you and switches away from the input you want to be viewing. This means if your computer switches video modes, hasnt come up yet, .... you are likely to be viewing another input you didnt want to see. And the other benefit (sarcasm) of this monitor is its fantastic (sarcasm) single button directional interface. You get to navigate the multi step menu each time this child thinks it knows which monitor you want to view. And if you arent frustrated yet, the menu system seems to be or become inaccessible when the monitor cant lock onto any input or the input changes on its own. So if you are in the middle of working with the one button menu system and the monitor thinks it needs to automatically do something for you, it will take down the menu letting you start over. And you can only start over if the monitor is in a state where it will permit the menu to launch. You would think that would be powered on. But no, it seems like it has to have a proper video connection before you can use it. If you are trying to figure out what is happening in certain circumstances, you will ultimately find it best to physically disconnect all other inputs. As mentioned before, as long as you dont use it with 2 powered computers, the monitor should work fine for you.

> 24 hourThis Asus monitor has the highest resolution I could find in a monitor under $5000. The visuals are stunning. It powers on quickly and has features to let you delay when it would go to sleep. I am very pleased with these monitors (I bought two and have them side by side as external monitors for my laptop.

> 24 hourReviewing the ASUS 29 Ultrawide Monitor... I have spent weeks researching the perfect monitor to upgrade my home studios needs. I do light gaming, audio recording and production, video editing, and image rendering. I recently upgraded a 10-year old PC with a new 600W power supply, SSD primary drive, and an Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU. I needed a monitor that was large, fast, crisp, and true in color. I also needed something that is affordable, physically adjustable, and well-constructed. In short, this product nailed every single one of my needs. I detect no pixel walking, backlight IPS glow, or system incompatibility. I have always trusted ASUS products, and this monitor fully lived up to my expectations. The price point was almost, suspiciously, too good to be true, but so far so good...

> 24 hourI work a lot of hours from a home office and run 2xUHD and 2xHD monitors on my dev machine. My Sceptre UHD recently failed and unfortunately that model is no longer available. I figured I would go with Asus, a brand name I know. and I regret that decision immensely. First off, when compared to my Sceptre (which I got for about 2/3 the price of this), the picture quality is absolutely terrible. I find smaller fonts difficult to read and there are various dark areas on the screen which makes the entire picture look wavy. I could not get the Display Port connection to work due to their ignorant menu button design. The stand is unattractive as well, although thats hardly the basis for my bad review. If I end up getting the DP to work and picture quality improves, Ill update my review accordingly, but until then this was too much money for a sub-par product. In summary, I miss my old Sceptre, which was cheap and may not have lasted as long as other brands, but at least the picture quality was incredible. Asus as a brand has been letting me down more and more over the years and I have a feeling this will be my last purchase of one of their products. Each and every day I feel more and more like buying products on Amazon is akin to buying on eBay, where you just cross your fingers and hope the ways in which the seller took advantage of you are ones that you can overcome. In the case of this monitor, there is no way I am going to spend the rest of my year working in front of this screen. My eyeballs already ache from the strain of trying to discern letters in this review as I type.
